The veggie combo platter was disappointing. It consisted of two falafel that were hard as rocks and two grape leaves that were just OK. The rest of the plate consisted of some hummus, some baba ganoush, a good bit of parsley salad, and about half the plate of white rice. She also brought some pita bread. So, most of the plate was filler. I've been to other restaurants that were much more giving of the substance of a veggie plate. My friend had already ordered a serving of grape leaves, so I was quite full of that. In fact, the appetizer was more satisfying than the plate, which cost double what the appetizer did. My friend didn't seem very impressed with her gyro sandwich. Although the lunch was disappointing, I remembered that the baklava was made with pistachios, so I convinced my friend to order a piece, which we shared. We both thought it was the best baklava we'd ever had. I think the owner ought to open a bakery and sell that baklava. If her recipe is that good, I'd bet other pastries would be great, as well. But unless she gives more falafel and grape leaves plus more to eat on a veggie plate than so much rice, it's not worth the menu price. I think the only reason I'd go back would be for the baklava.

We've been coming to Acreage since it opened, and it's still one of our favorite places to visit…read morewhenever we're in the area. We stopped by recently and, even in the middle of the afternoon, the place was bustling. We enjoyed a couple of ciders, including the passion fruit and peach varieties. We also appreciate that they offer gluten-free options, though we'd love to see a few more vegan choices on the menu. Our son enjoyed his kids' meal and, as always, had a great time playing in the outdoor playground. We encountered a few issues at the end of our visit. My drink was snatched away before I'd finished it! And when it was time to pay, our server handed over the payment device already set to the tipping screen, so I didn't have the opportunity to review an itemized bill first. It wasn't until I received the customer copy of the receipt afterward that I noticed an "operations fee" had been added to the total. I would appreciate a bit more transparency around this charge and a chance to review the full bill before completing payment.

But both times, I have left disappointed. The most recent visit, I brought friends from out of town so I made a deck reservation. We were sat at a table that was in uninterrupted, direct sunlight. We had to ask for them to lower the shade which meant we couldn't enjoy the view but spared us from being sunburned and overheated. My friends split a flight and one of the flavors was wrong. Then when our food arrived, one of their bison burgers was extremely overcooked (despite the waiter asking them how they wanted it cooked). My friend sent the burger back and got attitude from the waiter. When we got the bill, they charged us for the first overcooked burger. We only noticed because we happened to look at the email receipt. They fixed it when we brought it up, but it was really frustrating after the experience we had. Additionally, we didn't realize there was a 4% service charge. Overall, this place is just not worth the drive and price. For $60/person for food and drinks, it's not worth it for such an underwhelming experience.

TV's over the bar are impossible to watch from the bar if you're not an Owl and have a double joint neck. They're located at 90 degrees ABOVE the bar?? Owners have strategically placed the one TV in the bar over the sweltering patio to maximize glare, so nothing can be clearly seen. But good news: you can lower shades, YOURSELF to partially reduce the glare! Why can't management do it? Maybe they're not getting their cut from the $20/cheese burger?! Maybe they're too ignorant to know The World Cup Soccer Finals are playing? Atmosphere is horrible for watching sports. Prices are absurd, and service beyond taking orders is absent. Pay for a beer, then find another place. Better yet, just go elsewhere. This is more a family fried chicken restaurant for those that cannot order from Chik-fil-A after church, or for the 1% or Earth's population that's never heard of KFC.

This place is tiny and in cold weather better to take home to eat. The first time a friend placed the order for the group and went in for it and we ate it nearby at the place he and others were staying. Recently, we had eaten across the street when out in Lafayette for a business appointment and noticed that we were right across the street for The Simple Greek. We had not really noticed the location when the friend was driving the first time. So on a weekend afternoon, we decided to place an order, drive out to pick it up and take it home to Boulder to eat. Easy to do in warm dry weather on a weekend with little traffic on South Boulder Rd. The food travels well, the temperature still right when we ate it, about 20 minutes after pick up. Not soggy at all, in fact very fresh. The staff was friendly, our order was ready and on the entire order with many customizations, there was only one small error. One sandwich was missing its Kalamata olives. They give you a list on the order form to pick 5 customizations for each sandwich. The choices are many. I am sure we will order from here again under similar circumstances.

I reheated it at home and it was delicious. It was not overly sweet and soft to the bite.
