Not much can excite me through my long week of studying, work, and exams. And being a student at Iowa State University, I'm always searching for new adventures. Within the past two years, I have always been able to find one thing I can always go to for fulfillment (physically and spiritually). This heavenly road takes me to Chick-fil-A. Every time I go, my taste buds are blessed by the spicy chicken with a side of medium fries. I catch glimpses of heaven as I devour both with Chick-fil-A sauce. I'm not much of a coffee guy but the frosted caramel coffee may have converted me. All were signs of a great meal. The only reason I didn't give this five stars was because my meal was served with a side of attitude. Completely threw off my holy chakras. Overall, I was not disappointed with the meal, but was disappointed with the stinginess with their sauces. Great place!

This place is a lil slice of heaven here on Earth. Outstanding service and food every time I am here. They offer a lot of great deals/freebies which keeps me coming back. They are always busy because everyone loves their chicken, but they amaze me with how efficient they can get people through the line and served. The tables and floor are consistently clean. I've never seen an employee not with a smile and a "my pleasure" soon to follow. Also, shout out to Carissa for being a fantastic worker!! As for my favorite foods: -Spicy Chicken Sandwich: Honestly, not that spicy, but takes the classic sandwich too a new level of yummy. -Chicken Nugs: My go to order! These actually taste and look like real chicken- not fake at all! If you're extra ~blessed~ you'll get an extra or two in your box. -Peppermint Shake & Peach Shake: I love seasonal items and ice cream, so these are a no brainer. -CFA sauce: so good I could drink it Tips: If you get a kids meal, you can trade the toy for a small ice cream :) and use their app for extra rewards and deals!

My go-to reliable stop in Ames! Quick & convenient, with great service of course! The resturant is always very clean, and the staff is always super friendly. Can't go wrong with the classic spot. I am a huge fan of the chicken minis for breakfast & chicken nuggets with waffle fries for lunch.

Very family friendly, with playland for the kids. Very friendly staff. Clean. I tried the chicken strips per suggestion of the owner today and they were better than the chicken sandwich. See pics. No dried edges. Variety of seating options here as well from booth to table to bar height seating. Two lanes for drive through here. Plenty of parking. Marcydiner tantrum scale of 5/5-no screaming kids.

I love that when you drive up, you can see all the greens growing inside. We placed our order, then had a quick chat with the friendly young man at the window. But there wasn't much time for conversation because as promised, we got the world's freshest salads. It was so quick. We got home an opened up our salads and they looked amazing. My husband got the southwest salad and I got the Caesar salad. They were both delicious. Everything was incredibly fresh and so tasty. We really liked the Salad Girl dressings as well. I'm super picky about salads, and if it's not fresh, then I'm not interested. This was easily the best salad I've ever had. My Mother has been having their lettuce delivered practically since the beginning and I am always impressed with the freshness and flavor. Unfortunately, their facilities tours were not available during our visit, but I'd love to take the tour sometime. I will be insisting on visiting Clayton Farms Salads every time we visit Ames.

4/14/26 3:15 p.m…read more Online Order for Pick Up Food: We were very excited to try the food here, but we weren't too impressed, unfortunately. We ordered a Caesar Wrap w/chicken, Chicken Pesto w/no cherry tomatoes, Firehouse Chimichurri w/steak and no cherry tomatoes, Chocolate Smoothie, and Farmer's Punch. For starters, all of the produce was fresh and crisp (which is always a plus), but you can tell that meat is not their forte. The chicken tasted as if it were precooked, frozen chicken (not saying that's a bad thing, just didn't seem as if it was freshly cooked), and the steak was full of almost inedible gristle. The overall flavor of the food was pretty lackluster as well, besides on the Chicken Pesto; the balsamic vinaigrette was very overpowering. The Caesar Wrap was large, but the sandwiches were quite small portion-wise. The Chocolate Smoothie tasted more like a green smoothie with chocolate protein powder, and we had a really hard time keeping it mixed; sadly, we didn't finish it :( The Farmer's Punch, on the other hand, was really good! Service: The service wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. The person who greeted us was friendly, but not particularly social, if that makes sense? It almost seemed as if they didn't have enough time for us. They were polite and quick with getting our order to us, though. Ambiance: Inside is quite small and not meant for a dine-in experience; there are no tables at all. This is definitely a pick-up/to-go/drive-through type of establishment. It's kept very clean, though, from what we could see.

Pork Belly app: thick cut pork belly in lettuce cups, topped with sweet thai glaze, pickled carrots, onions, celery, mint, thai basil, cilantro, scallions and crushed peanuts. A tad sweet for me but overall this was a great app. Slice of Sourdough: delish. Chicken Japchae: since my mom has celiac disease, we were very excited to see this on their menu - dining out with her can be a challenge. Especially at a place specializing in breads! The only unfortunate part about this dish is (I think) they forgot they already salted the chicken and salted it again...and then again. I'm not one to say something is too salty, I love my sodium but this was mouth-puckering salty. Inedible, actually, but the noodle dish itself was SO GOOD that she set the chicken aside and ate the entree. NY Strip Steak: perfectly med-rare, served with a garlic-rosemary potato pavé (like a potato casserole of sorts), roasted broccolini and a house steak sauce that was similar to a demi glaze. Not a bite left - no leftovers with this one. I ate the whole dang thing. Myself. And I have zero regrets. Crème Brûlée: I also couldn't leave without ordering a crème brûlée because there are some really bad ones out there. This did not disappoint. I also took home a Dubai Chocolate tort, Raspberry Crumble and a Flourless Chocolate cake. ZERO regrets but if you love Dubai chocolate then you know there are some discusting renditions of this in the market. However, the Dubai chocolate tort at Provisions Lot F is . I can't even describe how delicious this was and is worth the drive to Ames just for this dessert. If you're north of DSM for a game or whatever, I highly recommend Provisions! I had to ask for the restaurant week menu and ask about the specials. She said they looked good but couldn't describe them and hasn't tasted them.
