Idk how this happened, but when I ordered a normal Crispy Chicken Sandwich, and they gave me a Spicy patty on the sandwich, but with the same wrapper. Not upset about it, it's just not what I ordered. So I told one of the workers about it, and he was super nice about it. He went into the back and got me a new sandwich, but also let me keep the other one for free! Also the fries were good, the lemonade was good, and the milkshake was very good. I love Chickfi. Of course, I love it most on Sundays and can't give into those cravings but regardless, I still love it. When I was in college, they did a lot more facebook events or deals to get people in their door but Covid hit and they barely offer anything! I'm glad they are doing well despite the pandemic BUT c'mon it's a college town! Time to open up a little more & offer some promos to give back to all the dedicated customers that have been supporting you when your inside was closed the last 11 months. Let's spread that generosity around shall we?!? Their parking lot = the worst. HATE driving on Lincoln when cares are taking up a lane to go get their #1 meals with 1/2 lemonade and 1/2 iced tea buttttt it's annoying OK!! Another weird thing during covid: they absurd amount of workers they have outside. After you order in the drive thru, you talk to like 10 people before you get your meal who keep confirming your name...a bit much I'd say. Pro Tip: Download the app and starting earning rewards. Not much can excite me through my long week of studying, work, and exams. And being a student at Iowa State University, I'm always searching for new adventures. Within the past two years, I have always been able to find one thing I can always go to for fulfillment (physically and spiritually). This heavenly road takes me to Chick-fil-A. Every time I go, my taste buds are blessed by the spicy chicken with a side of medium fries. I catch glimpses of heaven as I devour both with Chick-fil-A sauce. I'm not much of a coffee guy but the frosted caramel coffee may have converted me. All were signs of a great meal. The only reason I didn't give this five stars was because my meal was served with a side of attitude. Completely threw off my holy chakras. Overall, I was not disappointed with the meal, but was disappointed with the stinginess with their sauces. Great place! read more

This place is a lil slice of heaven here on Earth. Outstanding service and food every time I am here. They offer a lot of great deals/freebies which keeps me coming back. They are always busy because everyone loves their chicken, but they amaze me with how efficient they can get people through the line and served. The tables and floor are consistently clean. I've never seen an employee not with a smile and a "my pleasure" soon to follow. Also, shout out to Carissa for being a fantastic worker!! As for my favorite foods: -Spicy Chicken Sandwich: Honestly, not that spicy, but takes the classic sandwich too a new level of yummy. -Chicken Nugs: My go to order! I went to this location today and the person at the drive-through was actually excellent. I feel like she should get a raise because she was actually very kind and helpful. She repeated the order right the person who was working in the kitchen. Did not do a good job they missed chicken nuggets. They missed a burger with cheese on it. We asked for cheese. They did not give us cheese they didn't even give us the bag because we ordered a mac & cheese. We ordered a large mac & cheese, but we got a small mac & cheese. They needa fix there service NOW!!! My go-to reliable stop in Ames! Quick & convenient, with great service of course! The resturant is always very clean, and the staff is always super friendly. Can't go wrong with the classic spot. Was very excited to do a Chick-fil-A hack I heard about. Apparently spending $40 isn't enough to deserve a to-go salad container. Asked for one, was flat out told no. Wish I had canceled the entire order, as I needed something to mix food in, and couldn't. Too bad, they are usually very nice here but this makes me not want to come back. read more

I have good experiences here. Usually the drive through line is unbearably long, so my boyfriend and I use the app for curbside. Although, when I went yesterday, the line was not bad and I was able to go through. I always get the mac and cheese. It's delicious! I also got nuggets and fries, which are very good too. One thing I question about Chick-fil-A are their ethics. I've heard a lot about how they pressure their employees and treat them in an unethical manner. I'm also skeptical about the causes they donate to, but they have great food. read more

Very family friendly, with playland for the kids. Very friendly staff. Clean. I tried the chicken strips per suggestion of the owner today and they were better than the chicken sandwich. See pics. No dried edges. Variety of seating options here as well from booth to table to bar height seating. Two lanes for drive through here. Plenty of parking. He incorrectly repeated my order as Cobb salad with chicken nuggets. I corrected him then asked him to repeat my order. He repeated it correctly. I'm not a Chick Fil A fan. Their politics disgust me, and I think their food is overrated and overpriced. But I got a free coupon in the mail, and I'll happily take their freebies anytime. At least once a year or two there's some kind of giveaway. It'll be a cold day in hell before I give them a dime, but I'll take their free stuff. I heard some complain the food is greasy, but my original chicken sandwich was just fine. The drive thru clerk was friendly and warm, and though they were packed this Saturday everyone in there was working their hardest. If the company wasn't run by bigots who funded monstrous causes, I might occasionally give them a few dollars. They usually hire fabulous friendly people and give great customer service. Sweet smiley folks at this one. If you're a hardcore right wing Conservative, Chick Fil A is your spot. The two times I visited this location and both times left with only fries. I'm mainly writing this to let people know that their wraps are premade in the morning and if you have an allergy or dietary restriction, they won't make you a custom one. Last year, I tried on 2 separate occasions to get a chickenless wrap and they said they couldn't do it. The employees are super friendly, so this isn't a knock on them. The Chick-Fil-A website says you can customize wraps, but this location does not. read more

The staff here are extremely rude and entitled. The manager here is rude and disrespectful. I am a delivery driver for DoorDash and they are constantly disrespectful and never have orders done on time. On one occasion I already had an order and this place made me take another customers order out of my delivery bag in order to put half of their order in it( it was a large order that would not fit in my bag). Then they accused me of calling someone a bitch when what I said exactly is "well isn't this a bitch" in response to making me remove another customers order to satisfy their egotistical manager who believes he/she is better than the people who keep their business going. I would never recommend this place due to the fact they are rude and disrespectful. Also; who wants to support a racist and discriminatory corporate policy anyway. Not this person. I like chick-fil-a but they say breakfast is served until 10:30, but it's not. Don't say breakfast is until then if you won't serve it until that time. I do realize that showing up at 10:28 is pushing it, but a set time is a time limit that should be followed. Also the girl who told us they were serving lunch when we walked in was very sassy. Went through drive-thru this morning. No one was in front of me when I got there. Staff seemed a little unfamiliar with menu, but not a big deal. We did receive a medium drink by mistake which I appreciated. I waited at the window for over 10 minutes with two people behind me. Eventually they asked me to pull forward and that they were waiting less than a minute for biscuits and gravy. I pulled into a parking spot in the general area they pointed to since there is no designated waiting area. I waited about another 5 minutes and then sent our daughter in with the receipt to ask for our food. She came back with it a few minutes later. Tater-tots were cold or luke-warm at best. By this time, the kids were late for school so I quickly rushed them there. Afterwards their dad and I proceeded to eat the rest of our meals. I had the chick-n-minis and a side of biscuits and gravy. Dad had a chicken platter. The gravy was literally the consistency of skim milk and tasted horrible. Too salty and like flour mixed with sugar. No other flavor could be tasted. They also forgot his eggs. I have learned one thing today: Don't eat at the Ames chic-fil-a at breakfast time. We have been here during the day a few times since opening. The food is always good during lunch/dinner, although they do have a habit of forgetting parts of our order. I understand the restaurant is new, but with the amount of staff that is usually standing around in there, it shouldn't be a problem. I do have to say the staff was very friendly as they always are, and made sure to say "my pleasure" when I told them thank you. Unfortunately that doesn't make my gravy taste any better.
