Walking in to great music just a little to loud for me, but good. Service was really good, and our food came out sooo quick. Everything we tried was OK point and fresh!

Wow, when you're hungry, everything sounds amazing! And since I was in the mood for something different, I decided to order from here. I used DoorDash to place my order, and one of the reviews had me sold because it mentioned one of my favorite Peruvian dishes... lomo saltado! When the dish arrived, I was blown away by the presentation and the fragrant smell. They definitely didn't skimp on the steak, onions, and other ingredients. However, when I took a bite, I was disappointed to find that it lacked a lot of flavor. I should have gone with my gut and not ordered it at all! Other establishments that I've had this dish at never miss the mark! I also ordered the 1/4 chicken dark with fried rice, black beans, and string beans. Unfortunately, it was a bit blah. The sides were easily a 2.5 out of 10, and the chicken had no charcoal flavor whatsoever! I was really hoping for something decent after the lomo meal. Overall, I have to say that this restaurant missed the mark with me. I'll continue to frequent flavorful Peruvian restaurants that can deliver juicy, delectable dishes!

So, there is a new Peruvian chicken spot located in Capital Plaza!!! I heard about this place through a family member. They raved and sang the praises of this establishment, so I had to experience it for myself! I was welcomed with warm and upbeat customer service and placed an order to go for Lomo Saltado. The location of the restaurant is in a strip mall, where there are other eating establishments. Inside is clean with ample seating and the lighting is just right! My order was ready in no time! The order comes with three Peruvian style sauces! One white/mayo sauce, one chipotle sauce, one spicy green sauce! Upon arriving home, I washed my hands and opened up my entree! The aromas hit me first! I could smell the garlic and fresh herbs! The rice looked fluffy, and the steak and fries were perfectly marinated and juicy! Upon my first bite, I tasted everything that I saw with my eyes and was in absolute paradise! From the bold flavors, to the perfect texture and grill char of the food! One thing I also love, is that the portions are very generous! Please check this place out, you're truly in for a treat! Happy New Year & Cheers!

I came here with my mom while visiting home, and I was very pleased with the food! The chicken was soooo juicy with amazing crispy and flavorful skin. The fried plantains were a godsend. The green beans were very tasty (although a bit too oily). The yellow sauce and orange sauce were perfect. The service was super duper quick, no waiting at all. I would definitely go back next time I'm in town!

The chicken was very juicy. The customer service was great. It was our first time ordering there and the lady at the cash register was super helpful. We got the fried rice, beans, yucca, coleslaw and fries (as it was a big order) and it was all very good. The portions are a little small just an fyi so may be best for less than 5 people if buying for a family like we did this time.

Absolutely amazing! Mom and I both loved it!!! Mom had the shrimp and I had the chicken. Normally white meat ends up relatively dry, but this was as moist and juicy as I had ever had in a restaurant. And the flavor was off the charts! The fried yucca was also perfectly done. We are definitely considering round 2 tonight!

Fall off the bones and very delicious. I loved the nicely roasted chicken skin as well. Fried rice was good. I have had better fried rice at other places. Yuka fried with their green spicy sauce went really well. Nice and crispy. Ambiance is alright. It's a self serve place like most of the other Peruvian restaurants. Plenty of parking space.

I recently placed a family order at your restaurant, and when I was ready to pay, I was informed that there would be a $3 additional charge if I chose to pay with a credit card. I was told that if I paid in cash, I would only be charged the regular price. When I asked the cashier about this policy, she stated that the new owner had implemented this charge. I believe this kind of fee is unfair and deceptive. Customers should be clearly informed before ordering that there will be an extra charge for using a card, and this fee should be prominently displayed--if it's allowed at all. This practice feels like an attempt to squeeze extra money from customers without transparency. It comes across as dishonest and exploitative. I urge you to look into this location and ensure that all charges are properly disclosed and fair. Adding surprise fees at the register does not reflect well on your brand and damages customer trust. I would appreciate a response explaining whether this is an official company policy or a local decision, and what steps will be taken to address it.

Interior is nice, they could do without the 70 inch flatscreen screensaver in the back of the restaurant - otherwise liked the layout and decor. Service was a bit spotty, but very friendly. Bussing was top tier. We ordered about 6 items and were told "things will come out as they are ready". Great, I dig that type of service and we're in no hurry. We got our drinks about 5 minutes after we ordered them... and then 5 of the 6 dishes came out less than a minute after that. Not a good look. The final dish came out 2 minutes later, our table was completely out of room, they had to take our share plates. Definitely put a damper on a nice dinner, and the speed at which everything came out was... oddly quick for such a diverse order. Anyway, tostones were the best. Lomo saltado roll just tasted like a sweet Americanized sushi roll - didn't get any steak flavor really. Causas were okay. Ceviche was solid, no complaints. They had a take on bang bang shrimp, shrimp were cooked very well but way too much spicy mayo for our taste. Arroz con pollo was delightful, and a plentiful serving. Where there's smoke metal margarita was delicious. Pisco sours were absolute fire. Glad we tried it, but probably a one and done.

First, we just don't get enough sauces as part of the meal. Second, I was making sure I got enough sauces this time and ordered my usual types. Apparently, yellow sauce is now considered to be honey mustard. I did get some of the great tasting amerillo sauce but also got honey mustard which elsewhere is usually just fine. This honey mustard is awful. Trying to be like everyone else is not what made Sardis a success. If you must have honey mustard sauce go get a batch from McDonalds or some other fast food in the area. I have seen this place when I have had the pleasure to drive into work. However, it's not an establishment that I would walk to for lunch. DC blocks can be super long to walk and it can take a while to cross the busy streets. With our event coming up I figured why not. We went with the 40 Person Package from their catering menu. I think they under-describe this. It states it is for 40 people, but the amount of food you receive can easily feed more than that. Especially when it comes with four full pan sized side dishes. Definitely enough food to feed a crew and have leftovers. For our sides we went with White Rice, Plantains, Mashed Potatoes, and House Salad. All the food was received well by our crew and they were pleased to be able to partake in what was left after the meal was done. The White Rice comes with peas and carrots right in it. The Plantains are fried perfectly. Mashed Potatoes were velvety (sadly they appear to have taken them off the menu since we ordered). And the House Salad was a light side to rest of the rich food. What was over the top here was the delivery of the food. This was two weeks post snowstorm and the streets of DC were still mini mountains to climb. Our delivery person was amazing with the delivery. He, however, had the mishap of the mashed potatoes deciding to ditch before being delivered. The food was average at best and significantly overpriced for the quality. We paid $30 each for ají de gallina and arroz con pollo--both dishes lacked depth and were nowhere near worth that price point. The issues weren't limited to Peruvian dishes. The kafta sandwich was dry and completely lacking flavor, and a simple salad my wife ordered came with poorly seasoned dressing. Overall, the kitchen seemed to miss the mark on both sides of the fusion concept. To make matters worse, two classic Peruvian dishes--anticuchos and jalea mixta--were unavailable. The explanation given was that they had run out after Saturday night service, which is hard to justify when we visited at 1:30 PM on a Sunday. The restaurant was nearly empty at that time, which in hindsight should have been a warning sign. All in, we spent $225 for a family of four including tip, which is more than double what the experience was worth. I would rate this place 2 out of 5 stars and would not return.
