Had a nice meal at the Willowbrook location today. Linda was our server and she was very attentive and pleasant.

It was delicious. The tvs were off and the Mexican music was playing. I feel like we should of had an option. But it doesn't take away from the good service and delicious food read more

Had really great time here! Great food. And the best service!! Erika and Cindy were the best and treated us so well. Come back for the Spare ribs and waffle! read more

Food was good and great customer service. Diamond is a great waitress and made our overall experience excellent.

Just moved to Chicago this past weekend and my friend recommended this as a breakfast spot to try. Was literally blown away by how good the food was. Had the granny special crepe and was in heaven. It even came with whipped cream and ice cream. Wasn't overly sweet and cooked to perfection. Almost like I was in France again. Definitely coming back because the menu was huge and had so many different items to pick from. read more

As a newbie to the Chi I wanted to try this spot for breakfast. Great comfort breakfast spot. Although called Chicago Waffles it was suggested I try the skillet. All ingredients were fresh and food came out fast and hot. Absolutely loved the potatoes and how crispy they were without being burnt. Fresh coffee that was strong and the I heard the mimosas were great too. read more

2nd Review. This place was my go-to for breakfast. They offer an expansive waffle menu of all kinds with interesting toppings and flavors, both savory and sweet. Their menu also includes your standard egg-your-way, omelets, skillets, sandwiches and smoked salmon plates. Yesterday, I originally ordered the avocado toast, which includes some of my favorites foods, Poached egg, Brioche bread, pesto, Burrata cheese, mashed avocado, roasted tomatoes, watercress. Can't go wrong with these toppings, right? I was sadly mistaken. The watercress which was used to top the dish was old. The leaves were yellow and green. Yellowing leaves mean the greens are old. Why would you serve this to me and several eyes had to have seen this prior to bringing it to my table. I sent it back and ordered the salmon plate, which I thought was simple enough. Wrong again. The salmon tasted ok, but the onions, tomatoes, and cucumber were sliced way too thick. I don't know anyone that would appreciate a 1/4" thick slice of vegetables for a sandwich. The onion alone would overpower the delicate taste of the smoked fish. I usually like chopped eggs and capers with my salmon plate, but I was fine not having it, as it wasn't offered on the menu. Once again, I sent the plate back to the kitchen, but I kept the toasted bagel. I also asked for coffee but did not receive it. So, my breakfast consisted of a toasted bagel, cream cheese, and a sip of my daughter's mimosa. I was terribly disappointed. Honestly, if I were the manager, knowing a customer had sent a plate back to the kitchen twice, I would have addressed the issue personally. But, he didn't. You can't force good customer service...it is what it is. But I can choose not to return. My daughter opted for the Chicken & Waffles with spicy syrup on the side. She seemed very happy with her meal choice. I guess she saw the disappointment in my face, so offered to split her plate. Nah, go on and enjoy your breakfast, my dear. I need to mention this one thing. There should be a policy in place where customers cannot talk and/or video chat in a manner that disrupts other customers. The guy sitting next to us talked the ENTIRE time we sat next to him. I mean, he was having a full-blown conversation and was using his I'm-at-Soldier-Field-rooting-for-the-Bears voice. How rude! As a side note, this establishment is running a promotion with Restaurant.com. I purchased a $10 off coupon (when you spend $20) several months ago and decided to redeem it for this meal. Being able to reduce my bill by $10 was the highlight of the experience. I'm not saying you shouldn't go, but I would stick with the waffles and breakfast standards. read more

Great food and amazing service! Julian and Jessica were amazing! Will definitely be back.

Dropped in for the first time this morning for breakfast. The atmosphere was amazing and every staff member was so friendly! Dyamond was our server and she was extremely accommodating and checked in on us throughout. Cindy was also playing the music and it was like someone made the playlist just for me! I got the breakfast burrito which was perfectly cheesy and meaty and it came with perfectly crispy potatoes! All in all, an amazing Saturday morning! read more

My first time going here was a the disaster they messed up my whole order and they did not apologize at all I will never come back again. The waitress did not apologize at all but it's all good. I see what type of business y'all running because the smart attitude you just gave me it all good I will never in life come back to that restaurant again. You are so unprofessional and slight ruled. I repeated my order back Twice and still didn't get what I ask for. For you to come on here and say what you just said. Word of mouth get you the business. You wasn't serving my table and yes you suppose to hear your employee out but as a customer why would I make this up. I came in a restaurant on a Sunday morning/ afternoon with my daughter wanting a great meal. The end result is what it is and I feel how I feel. You have a nice day and maintain your business.. read more

Standard breakfast fare with large portions. When in doubt, split an item with a friend and it should be more than enough for the two of you. Fast and friendly service; I was surprised at how quickly they had the order out. Coffee refills before you run low--always a good thing for dining before noon. read more

I came to this place with my girlfriend and the experience did not live up to the hype. I ordered the huevos rancheros and the presentation was below par. I would have made myself this at home and I'm a rookie cook. Disappointed in the service. We were the only ones there and the service took a while to take our order. I have had better food and experience for the same cost read more

Their waffles are fantastic! I got 2 eggs any way with a side of red velvet waffles. They did the eggs perfectly (I asked for over easy) and the waffle looked so pretty. Would definitely recommend this place and their prices are quite reasonable. This place they will give you your bill to the table and you go up to the cash register to pay. They split the bill for my friend and me by item which was awesome as well. read more

Waffles in the South Loop was once a fantastic restaurant. Over the past few years the quality of the food and service has been in decline. The food is not as good and the servers, although very pleasant and friendly, are now much slower and inattentive. Today I went there to sit outside and have lunch. When I arrived I was told that the key to unlock the furniture was missing and the outside was closed, closed on one of the nicest days of the summer. I tried to place an order to go only to find that one of my favorite items was removed form the menu. Unfortunately, Waffles is now a disappointing dining experience. read more

So being new to the city I googled breakfast spots as I am a big breakfast person and this place was suggested. I looked through the menu and the red velvet French toast with cream cheese looked so delicious! So we went to the one on Michigan Avenue which is past the Bean and going away from the heart of the city somewhat...the space is nothing grandiose and almost looks like a hole in the wall but I would say it's worth it. So our initial service was TERRIBLE! We had a gentleman server who was from another country and just started two weeks prior and so he didn't understand a lot of our requests which were minimal...my friend specifically ask for a cup of hot water and a side dish of lemon...it took almost 25 minutes to get this after 2 reminders and then he brought a cup of lemon and water together which was not the request. When the food came out I was just surprised at the amount of food presented and was quite pleased so I said to the waiter, " wow this is a lot of food" and he replied back with irritation and asked why I was displeased but I wasn't displeased I was just making a statement on how much food we received for the price...geesh I ordered the red velvet French toast with cream cheese, cheese eggs and turkey sausage!! That French toast is FIRE!!! It has a nice crisp on the outside and a warm gooey toast of cream cheese on the inside infused with the outside velvet taste!!! Just perfect...the eggs and turkey sausages is what to be expected of the meal. My friend got the Very Berry Pancakes topped with Strawberries and a skillet and she enjoyed it enough... At the end we asked for the manager which was very apologetic about our experience with our server and offered free drinks to take but then didn't go through with that either... There was enough seating and if you can find a place to park on the street then good luck...overall I would go back for the French toast but needs to be better service... read more

Waffles opened last December and I've finally trekked my way through the South Loop. I'm rather surprised by the many negative reviews from fellow Yelpers. My experience was quite the contrary and I see myself as a fan especially with their many Groupon, Amazon, TravelZoo, and LivingSocial offers. It was a Saturday afternoon and our party of three promptly arrived at 1:30pm. There was a 5-minute wait to be seated despite the fact that they were having a birthday party in the left sector. We were seated at the divided section with a long communal table. The menu and water pitcher was immediately distributed and we ordered within minutes as we had already studied the menu during our 5-minute wait. We ordered the waffle benedict, chicken and bacon, and omelet with Canadian bacon, mushroom, and cheddar. My chicken and bacon contained all sorts of hotness! Everything from the shreds of bacon to the fried chicken was as crisp as ever and in the ever-best outfit of golden brown! The waffle had a thin blanket of shredded bacon in addition to bits of bacon that were included in the batter prior to baking. The fried chicken had a slight spice to it and it blended very well with the thin coat of syrup. I did not get to try my friend's benedict or omelet, but I did manage to steal a few pieces of breakfast potatoes. It left me desiring for more! read more

The best thing about here is that there is no wait and the service is timely. The seating is comfortable and the servers are polite and accommodating to the customers' needs. They let us pick our seats and bring us milk for our coffee (there's cream at each table). The food is great too so for no wait and friendly service, I would come here over more popular breakfast locales. We tried the red velvet waffles, ham steak with eggs, and corned hash with eggs. Oh and of course coffee, which is unlimited. Portions are substantial. The roasted potatoes that come with the egg dishes is perfectly cooked and seasoned, you also have a choice of toast or pancakes, both are great. There's whipped butter and strawberry jam at each table, which happen to be my favorite toppings for toast. Highly recommend! read more

I was around the area and wanted something for breakfast so I stopped by. The staff was very friendly and I liked the aesthetic of the place. I ordered a BYO (build your own) omelette which I give it a 7.5/10 & it came with potatoes included which I give it a 4/10. They were good decent portions, they just had too much skin which gave it a bitter taste and there was too much crunch. I get that they are fried but maybe a few less seconds will be better. I also orders a red velvet waffle which was the best part of my meal honestly. Super delicious and the strawberries were fresh, 10/10. read more

The service was terrible and very slow. The food is versy subpar and does not look pleasing. The waiter was very forgetful of our order and didnt fully explain the menu. I ordered a salmon sandwich that took 40 minutes to come out, I gave them grace because I actually thought they were grilling the salmon. However my sandwich comes out and it looks like they just slapped some grocery store salmon on the sandwich. I ordered it with no tomato but it came with tomato. This sandwich looked like it could take about 5 minutes to make yet I waited 40 minutes. The server wasnt very apologetic. read more

I ordered a "fresh garden skillet" with scrambled eggs. They got my order all wrong. They have me a fried egg with the yolk still runny. Yuck!!!! On top of that, they have American cheese and the bottom of the "skillet". When I called back and stated that they messed up my order, the guy who picked up the phone literally didn't want to take my consideration at hand and says that he just got to the restaurant and was not allowing me to speak to the person who originally took my order or the manager. I stick by my original review....I wish I could give its 0 star. read more

Decent quick breakfast place if you can get in without a wait. It's better now than it was in years past when service was painfully slow but things seem to be speeding up. Try: original belgian waffle with really any topping, liege waffle, stuffed crepes with nutella, and the french toast Skip the burger and the lunch stuff - breakfast and brunch foods are the all stars here Overall a not bad but also not great place to check out if there isn't a crowd. read more

Wouldn't have ever found this place if it weren't for my Yelp app, woohoo! We were walking down Michigan Avenue trying to find a place to eat, and there was a large crowd standing outside. We walked in and asked how long the wait was and were seated within a few minutes (the other parties waiting were much larger than 2, so I would probably say, it's easier to get a seat with a smaller group/couple). Anyway, we were greeted promptly and asked what we wanted for drinks. What I found funny was that they offered cucumber, lemon (and something else) "infused" water but really it was just slices of cucumber or lemon with ice water. GURL. Anyway, I had the Mexican Chocolate Waffle - delicious! I also had a bite of another waffle that had nutella (yum). But I was eyeing the Red Velvet Waffles at another table - something I think I MUST try next time! read more
