Breakfast of Champions

I love this hotdog. Perfect salt crunch and garnish. Killer cure for a hungover when you are flying cross country with a pit stop in ORD. If I'm flying to or through ORD - this is TOTALLY one of my destinations. The dog is great. The bartender is efficient - a little rough but pours an honest cocktail. It's an airport so you are paying way more than what you would spend normally- but it's really good. Two cocktails and a hotdog $21 and two years off your life expectancy.

Chicago style hot dog, but maybe not from Chicago Style Hot Dogs...

Does this business actually exist? I went to the spot Yelp says it is and Nuts on Clark now occupies the space. Then I saw an arrow on the wall pointing toward the terminal exit and went there and checked into a place that was actually a kiosk serving dogs and personal pan pizzas pre-made. My dog was A-OK there because it was generous on ingredients (including cucumber slices, which I hadn't encountered on a Chicago dog previously) but the dog was ultimately defeated by the steam table which made the wiener flaccid and the bun too soft to stand up to the ingredients

DEAR LORD I'm not sure how to rate this!! Great food. I loved the Chicago Style Hot Dog I got right before my flight. Price: the price is right! This was a filling meal that was reasonably-priced for airport food, but it still is pricey for a hot dog. It had good relish, pickles, tomatoes, a yummy poppy seed bun, and more. Service: high-key the worst. There was one woman making each hot dog and she was a huge grouch. Not friendly and didn't smile and just didn't seem very happy. As if that wasn't enough, she took FOREVER for each hot dog. I swear, I've seen paint dry faster. People audibly groaned while in line. THEN here's the kicker: with 5 people behind me and 1 person in front of me, she announced that there were only 3 hot dogs left that were being cooked so others would have to wait while the rest of the dogs cooked. Honestly it was very entertaining for me to see almost everyone behind me leave, many of whom walked across the way to my gate so they got to see me eat my hot dog a few minutes later. TLDR: good hot dog, bad service, and don't expect this to be a quick bite. Expect a long wait for each hot dog, even if the line is short. ALSO ask how many hot dogs are being cooked at the time!!

Extremely meh. I got this at the instance of my friend from Chicago during my layover. The sourness from the pickles, pepperoncinis, and whatever the neon green stuff is is overwhelming. There's no sweetness from ketchup (not allowed on a Chicago dog apparently), just the lingering taste of sourness and mustard spice. I understand that this airport version of a local favorite isn't a good representation of a Chicago dog (or indeed any food), but dang... I'mma stick to McDonald's next time. The one start is actually for me, for being brave enough to order this and

This is a far better dog than American Dog. The peppers are spicier, the pickle crunchier, the onions fresher, and the hot dog a whole lot bigger. Best of all it works out to almost $2 cheaper per hot dog. Take a moment, walk down to C8. You wont regret it. I will definitely come back here when I pass through this airport. I will also recommend them to all of my friends who may also do the same. Only possible negative is that the hot dog sausage may be too wide. But it still is better than the super skinny on at American Dog.

5 stars the context of cheap, fast, delicious airport food. The employee was friendly and loaded up the dogs with a bunch of tasty condiments. The bun was tasty, for a couple of bucks you can't do any better. One heck of a deal considering I paid $5 for a regular bottled water in the magazine store.

Fast, friendly service and a decent Chicago dog here at the airport, for a quick bite in between flights.

Cheddar curly fries

Pricey but what do you expect from an airport. The hot dog itself is true to size for a hot dog and right down to the bun for a chicago dog. The cheesy curly fries are not easy to eat and messy and I would ask next time th cheese on the side.

Regular Chicago Dog
Joseph E.

It's an airport hotdog! The regular is a bit small, so if your looking to "eat" rather than "snack" you should get the large. I got the Chicago Dog, because guess what? I'm In Chicago. The dog itself was just OK tasting, but at least they got all the correct ingredients. The staff was friendly and the dog was served up quickly and still warm. Great place for a quick bite.

The chicken strips were perfectly crispy on the outside and super juicy on the inside. You can tell they're made fresh -- not dry at all, just tender and flavorful with that golden crunch in every bite. The fries were just as good -- hot, crispy, and the perfect base for that cheese sauce. Speaking of the cheese... so smooth and rich, it honestly made the whole meal even better. And the devil sauce?? SO good. It has that perfect balance of heat and flavor -- not overwhelming, but definitely gives a little kick that keeps you going back for more. Everything together was just one of those simple but so satisfying meals. Perfect portions, great flavor, and exactly what you want when you're craving comfort food. Definitely would order this again -- no question.

They have won several awards for their sandwiches and are said to have the best Italian Beef in Chicago. With all this being said, this was certainly a must eat on my trip! Their menu consists of their famous Italian beef, along with Chicago dogs, burgers, sausage sandwiches, chicken, and fries. There is definitely something for everyone here. The inside is casual and reminiscent of a fast food eatery. Really liked the yellow accents throughout the restaurant. I will also note that it was extremely clean inside, which is always appreciated. Ordering is simple and they will call your ticket number when your food is ready. All the food is served made to order and very fresh and doesn't take too long to come out! I ordered the Regular Beef, wet, with both hot and spicy peppers per the workers suggestion. Ordering the sandwich wet simply means the bread is dunked in the gravy/aus jus. If you want the real deal, this is how you order it. The peppers are optional as well, but complete the sandwich. The sandwich consists of their famous Italian beef roasted and sliced, served on freshly baked French bread. I can see why this sandwich is so highly regarded. The Italian beef that is made in house each day is tender, flavorful, and just perfect! It isn't chewy or tough either. The sweet and spicy peppers paired nicely with the savory beef. And the fresh French bread covered in the gravy--phenomenal! The gravy adds a lot of flavor to the sandwich. You do have to eat it quickly, otherwise the bread will fall apart, oh but it is so worth it. I got fries with a side of cheese sauce to go with the sandwich. By far some of the best fries I've had. Not super crispy, but not soggy either, the texture was just right. They were salted perfectly and dipping them in their velvety cheese sauce was a treat! A regular sub is roughly 6 inches and quite filling. The sandwiches are stuffed with ample amounts of beef. The price is also excellent considering how much you get. Overall, I would say Al's Beef lived up to all its praise. My sandwich was very memorable and was like nothing I'd had before. Everything is so fresh, between their beef, bread, and fries, it is all made in house. This isn't just some fast food spot, it is an institution. I was impressed with everything I ordered, especially the fries. They take a lot of pride in what they serve. This is evident in their customer service. If you are visiting Chicago, don't think, just go--you won't regret it!

Kinda skimpy on the fixings on the Chicago dog, but still gets the job done if you're craving a Chicago dog. Fries are the type that are greasy to the touch; not my fave style of fries but I know it's a well-liked one to others. Super friendly lady at the cashier (all smiles, patient, and offered menu help)! Also fast service (got my order within a few minutes). I visited on a Saturday late afternoon and it was very chill here (also shoutout to the early 2000's era music playing :p it was a vibe). Overall I'd say it's not a bad food spot at all if you want a quick bite and want to be a little away from the Magnificent Mile crowds.
