I didn't quite realize how dirty our 2 year old carpet was until we moved (or i actually supervised my husband and brother) my office furniture into another bedroom to make room for a nursery. We had a desk mat thingee under our desk and when we lifted it up the carpet looked so much whiter than the rest of the room. And here I thought we had just bought beige carpet! Chicago Carpet Care to the rescue! I found them on Yelp (where else?) and liked that on their biz page it says yelpers get a 10% off discount. I called them, booked a day and Danny the carpet cleaner showed up at my door just a few days later at the scheduled time. I left the condo while Danny was here since I didn't think I should be around the carpet cleaning fumes while pregnant, but he seems nice enough so I felt comfortable leaving him in my condo. Cleaning the carpets in 3 bedrooms took him 1 1/2 hrs. He called when he was done and informed me that he had accidently broken my husband's beloved Willie the Wildcat Bobblehead. I kind of wish he had broken the Benny the Bull Bobblehead at the same time, but my husband has been trying to glue poor Willie's head on ever since. Regardless Danny had to move a bunch of furniture and accidents happen. The carpets look great and while the whiter part of the carpet in our now nursery is still a bit whiter, it definitely blends in more...and I'm sure will get dirty itself in no time. Hopefully not as dirty as they got though because I plan on getting them cleaned once to twice a year from now on. If I could give fewer than 1 star I would. I requested a quote for deep carpet cleaning for 4 rooms and provided the dimensions for each room. I received a quote of $228 and booked a time to have it done. When their guy arrived, he told me that $228 was for a light cleaning and told me it would be $350 for a deep cleaning. I told him that I specifically requested deep cleaning and was given the $228 quote. He called his boss who said they couldn't do a deep cleaning for $228. The guy then left without doing the work. If I could give them one star I would. I had my couch cleaned in September, and spilled a glass of water on the couch and whatever cleaning agent they use for their upholstery leaves a residual mark in the upholstery if you get something on the couch or try to spot clean. They offered to re-clean the couch for $100 but that was almost what I paid originally ($119). The receptionist said it wasn't water and that it was my fault. Will never be using this company again and would not recommend others use their services either. Disappointing that I have to get the couch cleaned all over again after just a few months and they couldn't guarantee their work. read more

Since I bought my place 8 years ago, I've been getting my carpets cleaned yearly. I worked with about 4-5 different carpet cleaners. Was I really satisfied? Meh. The way they cleaned was far from perfect, and the price always felt high for what I got. 3 years ago (summer 2007) I called David's company Chicago Carpet Care. I spoke to the sweet girl that answered the phone. I told her my needs (I have two dogs and a cat), and she gave me a very reasonable quote on the spot. Shockingly, the price quoted was the actual price I was given by the technician that came to my house. That has never happened with the other companies I've used. In one way or another they always ended up charging more than I was originally quoted. Since then I've been getting my carpets cleaned twice a year thanks to their awesome deal for return customers. I'm now paying for two yearly cleanings less than I used to pay for just one. I highly recommend Chicago Carpet Care. Ok.. let me start by saying that I have a dog which I LOVE and 2 carpeted bedrooms. Yes a dog and carpeted rooms can be a (big) problem. I will try to keep it short.. Last year I DIDN'T use Chicago Carpet Care I used other company and when I called them they gave me a price over the phone of $79 and at the day of the cleaning I end up paying $239! (idiot I know.. thanks) This year I went on yelp and find Chicago Carpet Care.. I called them and talk to a VERY nice and informative lady . I didn't want any surprises on my bill so I told her the story about the other company. So she told me ''at Chicago Carpet Care we never do it. We have a price list on our website and what you see its what you pay!'' She also told me that in my situation I better get sanitizing for my carpet and I . She gave me a price of $138 (included the sanitizing) and that's exactly how much I didpaid!! Yay I found an honest company with a set price list on there website :) The cleaning.. The cleaning guys came ON TIME and did an amazing job. The guys was very friendly and professional they even cover their shoes before they got in.. it took them three times the amount of time then the other company and the carpet look like new(really!) with no smell!!!! Well, update 3 and I'm back to being bummed. Rug was taken on July 5, 15 days ago and 11 business days ago. Still no call. No update. No checking in to make sure they haven't lost it/are working in it/will be done soon. Nada. To me, that is NOT acceptable customer service. Overall I am dismayed with this company and their process. I was not given an order number or phone number to call and check on my order, thus I will sit and wait for them, I guess. Great service all around: on the phone and in person. Hubby contacted Chicago Carpet Care after a leak in the humidifier left our carpet soaking wet. We just had the carpet cleaned back in July when we first moved in, but the company that cleaned it back then gave us a higher quote. The two-person crew finished the job in about 2 hours. They were very respectful with our furniture and took care moving items around. They were even able to remove some things the other company wasn't able to do the first time around. A+. There are a plethora of carpet cleaners out there, so pick a good one. I narrowed my search using the IICRC, an independent certification group. Out of the 3 I called, Chicago Carpet Care was the top. You get a free estimate, and can choose a 2-hour window to schedule it, none of this 9-4 stuff. Danny was punctual and courteous. He immediately put on booties over his shoes without us asking. He also gave us a complementary bottle of spot remover during the estimate. It was $275 for our 700 SF lower level + a full set of stairs. This included scotchguarding. There were 3 tiers of options, we chose the highest one. The day of the service, we also got to choose a 2-hour window, and Danny was even a little early. The job took about 90 min. He moved the bigger furniture around as necessary, and left them on styrofoam stilts to allow for drying. Less than 24 hrs later, the carpet is dry and beautiful. We have 2 cats, and Danny told us he pulled practically an entire cat out of the carpet. And we vacuum regularly! Excellent service, good value. Keep your carpeting looking fresh! My male roommate just moved out of the downstairs and needless to say after 1 1/2 the floors were disgusting. There were stains up the wazoo. I was afraid that they'd be permanent. I found Chicago Carpet Care on Yelp. As soon as Danny got here he assured me he could have the carpet looking like new. I patiently sat in the living room hoping that he was right and that it wouldn't look like animal house in my basement any longer. When he was ready to leave he had me take a look. It looks awesome. I don't see any stains anymore. I don't know what my old roomie was doing down there. But it went from yuck to new looking. For only a little over $100 I got two rooms, stairway and hallway done. Very worth it and affordable. A lot of other places were charging way more than that and didn't even have as great views. I was lucky that there was no furniture since my roommate has already moved out. I'm sure that really helped the process. If you are unlucky enough to have carpet and a dog, you are probably familiarizing yourself with the local cleaning services....This one is as good as the reviews. (A+ on Angie's list, too.) I've had Danny L out of my place in Evanston twice. Once I had a carpet guy who was frankly kind of creepy. He was asking me if I was single, etc. Rest assured, Danny is always a proper gentleman. He is so vested in his job, he could easily be taken for the owner. It's a always a good price, no rip-offs. With yelp deal, $75 for 2 bedrooms and a small hall. He wouldn't accept a tip (which I wanted to put on my card...) : - ( It sounds like it's not their policy, but next time I will have cash on hand and insist on it! read more

When one technician showed up to clean 2 three story staircases, one large sectional and a love-seat, I knew there was a problem. I had been communicating with the office manager via email and originally had two appointments scheduled. She called me and said they could get it done in one slot. I confirmed the staircases, sectional and love-seat. She said yes so I cancelled the one appointment and figured they would send a team. The technician who showed up was very respectful and successfully completed one staircase. He was leery of cleaning the couches and I was not interested in trusting my furniture to someone who was unsure. I really appreciated his honesty in telling me he was concerned because of the fabric, color. Thank goodness he didn't go ahead and clean it and there was a problem later. Given the late time, I cancelled the second staircase. The technician was honest and hardworking, but clearly Chicago Carpet Care needs to hire more people and be realistic about how long things take. I wish I had kept both appointments, likely could have gotten all of the work done. There is too much competition in this field for me or my condo association to use this service again. read more

I'm not sure when this $95 for 3 rooms was posted on Yelp, but I could have used that and/or even the 10% off. I had one bedroom done, and the stairway in my condo unit and it came to $104. He did do the living room rug for me so in some way it evens out. The carpet does look great, but the rug probably requires more intense cleaning. The guy did tell me about the machine that they use at their facility that could take it out, but it would cost me more than what I bought the rug for. I might as well end up buying a brand new rug so I passed on getting that cleaned through the machine. The cleaning didn't take very long at all - an hour at most. The stairway took a day or two to dry completely because the carpeting was burbur, but the bedroom was faster with a few hours. Maybe I can try to redeem the discount the next time. read more

I was leaving my 1100 Sq ft. apartment and wanted to give it a good solid clean beforehand, so after reading the reviews of Chicago Carpet Care, I decided to go with them. Booking the service was easy as pie, they were very flexible and agreed to come on a specific time window I had. The guy who did the work was extremely nice and professional, he managed to remove even the toughest stains! My carpet was badly abused by my Yellow Lab and my 20 month old daughter, so I really had very little faith, but I was surprisingly wrong! Everything was super clean, leaving the carpets looking brand new. I even got a very positive feedback from our sub-tenants about the carpets. Thank you, David! On the form I described that room may or may not be 250 Sq ft. and I counted the number of stair and number of landings per set of stairs. Submitted it. They called back with a price estimate and the day of the guy gave a different estimate and was more than double the actually estimate. When asked for a the 10% discount the guy stated he gave us a free hallway cleaning. to offsite. Which was total BS. The actual work done was ok, but I am not happy or satisfied in the manner they treated pricing. Please note: I changed my rating the next day. After hearing about my issues. The owner of the company has called to help me resolve the problems that have occurred. This is more than reasonable in my book and appreciated. He was willing to work around my schedule to talk to me and hear me out and correct whatever really needs to be corrected. read more

My guy showed up at 9:30, but apologized for lateness with a legit reason that I actually believed. (People still do that these days?) For $89 my craigslist sofa is restored to its original color, bright burnt orange. I bought my couch 2nd hand for a steal, so I didn't want to spend a fortune just to clean it. He then offered to clean my entry way for just $10 more. Total, I spent $99 (the traveling cost and tax included) on my sprucing up my appartment. They take cash, credit card, and check on the spot. I came to Chicago Carpet Care through a yelp coupon - after reviewing their positive reviews and pricing it out against competing cleaners it seemed like a good deal all the way around. Scheduling was easy - I requested a date and cleaning through their website, and a few hours later a rep called and I was able to have my first choice of time. When the time came for my cleaning the following week, the cleaner called in the morning and offered to come several hours earlier due to an opening in his schedule. Unfortunately I had blocked out a certain time for the work and wasn't able to take up this convenient offer, but he had no problem coming at the appointed time instead. Once he arrived, the cleaner (one man) was polite, fast and efficient. He did not try to upsell me or charge more than promised on the phone, and when I asked when I should get the carpet cleaned again (having just moved in I was very displeased with its condition) he told me that once more in six months and then an annual cleaning after that would be idea. I was very impressed with this answer, since I was obviously displeased with the carpet in its former state and would have thought about a monthly cleaning if it would get things into better condition! All said, this was a top notch service with reasonable prices and I would be certain to use them again in the future. read more

They did a fabulous job with my carpets. I do cat rescue, so my own 5 cats mark and pee whenever I have foster cats or rescued kitties in the house, or even if I come home from an adoption event or rescue where they can smell other animals on me. Actually it is just one cat that does it, but then the others smell it and follow suit- :-( We have a large bukhara area rug and 2 others that are machine made but very nice, purchased from Marshall Fields and NOT cheap. Each rug had one spot that had been peed on repetitively and none of my usual cleaning products helped- and I know them ALL. Anyhow these guys came, talked to me, looked at the rugs, did estimates, and took the rugs. I was very emphatic that we would freak out if the smell were not totally removed. It cost us about a grand and I had to send the bukhara back after their first pass on it, b/c it still had a smell. They took it back, no problem, and when I got the carpets back we literally could not see or smell which area had been peed on. Best of all, neither could our cats. This is the first time I've been able to get a deep down cat pee smell out of carpet, so I am frankly amazed. As I said, it is not cheap but they definitely get the odors out. Last but not least, the rugs look brand new. They were not heavily used or anything, but now they are much brighter and gorgeous. Finally I have clean carpets! They did a great job cleaning very dirty carpets and got lots of stains out that I didn't think they could. And Danny showed up early to accommodate my schedule, which I really appreciated. He was also very professional and easy to talk with. The only caveat I have for carpet cleaning in general is that sometimes old stains become more obvious once the area around it is cleaned, but not the fault of the company. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY. They have been harassing me about a payment that I paid but they messed up on their end and didn't file my information correctly. They "owner" called and lied to me saying my card was declined and I need to have money on the card if I'm going to give it out. She made up conversations that never occurred and proceeded to raise her voice at me. Worst customer service I have ever experienced.
