After leaving another store in Willowbrook that offered me no assistance or advice but just offered me an array of women's clubs that I was not able to try, I went back to Palos, kicking myself for not going there first. Within an hour an a half, I walked out of Palos Golf with a new set of men's senior clubs that we chose after I tried several different women's and then men's clubs, finding the perfect set and receiving a mini lesson that straightened out my ball instantaneously! I was able to take out of the set, any clubs I didn't need. Same prices or better than any stores I went to or looked at. All WITH the time and effort to get me into the right set of clubs. Mind you, I was ready and willing to spend more but thankfully, I was guided to what was best for ME. Consequently, I'll be spending a lot more money at Palos Golf! Thank you Brett!

Since I began bowling seriously in the 1980's, Star Pro shop (George) had a reputation of having…read morethe best "driller" in the Chicagoland area. Nothing is more important than your "release". George would look at your wear pattern and do his measurements as close to perfect so that it comes off smoothly. When I got better I opted for pro shops where I bowled. Struggled with my release on most of those. Went back to "Star". George retired and sold to one of his employees (Lee?). He re-drilled a ball and my average jumped 5+ pins. I think Lee sold a few years later to few of his employees. They all have the same training and craftsmanship. They are one of the best in the area. I had my kids and now my grandkids will have balls recommended and drilled by Star. Its worth the drive.

What an incredibly cool place. I had pretty much resigned myself to the fact that I'll be a…read moremediocre (at best golfer) for the rest of my life- until my buddy told me about Bettinardi. I'm 6'4 and I have 38 inch arms, so stock golf clubs don't really work for me. I never really considered getting custom fit for a putter, let alone my wedges. I came in here and the store is so cool- they have a custom fitting room for entire sets- I just came in to get a wedge and putter fitting. I wasn't planning on buying anything, but the fitting is essentially built into the price of the clubs. I walked away with a new putter and wedge. I really appreciate the time the fitter spent with me. He watched the metrics on the shots I took and found me the perfect setup. I haven't tried my new clubs yet- it's still pretty cold in Chicago, but putting in my basement on the carpet has been pretty exciting so far. For the first time in my golfing life I feel like my putter is an extension of me. Prices are not cheap, but the quality is the best. If you're serious about golf this is a no-brainer, and if you're like me and just want to get under a 20 handicap, this is a must-have place. Excellent experience, service, and products. 5 stars.
