To preface this review, I'm am a beginner golfer, so the intricacies of golf courses are still new to me. With that being said, I loved the Zigfield course. The staff were super friendly, and they made sure you knew deals the were having and really emphasized to just have fun with the course. The course is a par 3 course so it shouldn't be treated like a ultra competitive professional course. You should have fun with it, and my group definitely did. The course offered enough obstacles to make you think how you need to pay, and the greens were a fun challenge. On the downside, there were definitely some bad divits on the Fairway and some bad patches on the green that weren't that big a deal, but when putting and there is bald patch on your line, it makes it that much harder to hit your putt. Finally the markers for teeing off were definitely moved around and the range to green was definitely not right fortunately we had a range finder. Overall though great experience, and I will definitely be returning to practice my mid range game. read more

With COVID19 going on, I've been looking to get back into the golf game. I was a 5 handicap and Evans Scholar a lifetime ago, so been practicing to see if I can get closer to the level I used to be. I love using grass ranges to get proper feedback and ball impact from each swing, which is why I was ecstatic to find this place. Wife and I enjoyed a quick round at this par 3 Golf course this morning. The course was in great shape and offered some very challenging holes with plenty of obstacles in the way. Teeing off early saved us money through teeoff.com and we were both excited to play here this morning and work on our short game. We will for sure return here another time when we are in the area. read more

I used to live in the city so this place is Heaven compared to Belmont Harbor. This place has plenty of free parking, always available range spots, great prices and courteous staff members. I'm going to take lessons here if they have any available instructors and times. I would highly recommend Zigfield driving range for a serene, meditative experience. This is a great short par 3 course especially if you have kids. The 2 star rating is because of the grounds keeper. He's a cranky old man with a chip on his shoulder and thinks he owns the course. He has been extremely rude and disrespectful on two separate occasion in front of my 2 nephews (ages 10 & 12). His approach and demeaner is very aggressive. I had to bite my tongue this last time when he approached us on hole 1 when he picked up my nephews ball claiming it was "his" because it was a range ball. He should stick to mowing the grass instead of communicating with golfers. I will be calling the superintendent as well before I ever plan I going back to this course. read more

Great facilities, probably the best pure range in the western burbs. Tons of generously sized hitting bays, and you get to hit off of grass instead of mats. They also have the yardages clearly marked. Staff is super friendly, and the little par 3 course is a total blast. read more

Great little course! I started a womens league here tonight and was pleasantly surprised. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The driving range was in good condition and i was able to hit from the grass, not mats!! The course was well maintained. The price was low and it wasn't crowded (well that is until everyone reads this review)! Perfect course to practice, practice, practice!!! read more

Called at 3 to see if they were open because it was 36 and raining. The guy said yes they are open and that it is mats only. I'll get there at 5:10 which is 50 minutes before they close. So I get there I said sorry we are closed and the guy said it's just a bad day. No shit Sherlock that's why I called and asked. Wasted 30 minutes of driving to this lame excuse for a driving range. Tim Troy replied back and offered his apologies for the negative experience. He made a sincere effort to make amends for what happened and I took him up on his generous offer. Tim was not there but the guy that helped me was very nice and had no problems helping me out and honoring Tim's offer. Thanks guys for understanding my frustration and I look forward to hitting many buckets. read more

My 8-year-old daughter just decided to take up golf, and I am pretty new to the game myself. I decided our first outing would be a nice, easy par-3 course. We drive by here often and we figured it would be a good place to try out. People that work here are really good-natured and laid back. All the holes are pretty short- I don't think I used more than an 8-iron in 9 holes. My daughter, more importantly, had a blast. The holes were short enough that she could get on the green in a few strokes, and the putting was pretty simple. Course was well-kept and easy to play. It's definitely a course for newbs like us, or for more experienced golfers looking to work on their short game. The driving range is really good, too. We will definitely be back- perfect for a quick afternoon family activity. read more

There isn't much remarkable about this par three course except for the fact that I watched my buddy score a hole in one here. Then when we went into the clubhouse to fill out a form, it asked for two witnesses and since we were playing in a twosome we had to get some rando to sign his name and pretend he saw it so that my buddy's name could flash by on that golf channel hole in one daily listing that we knew we wouldn't watch anyway. Was checking out driving ranges in the area and decided to check this one out. This place is a little difficult to find as it is hidden behind trees but it shares a driveway entrance with the mini golf place. The range itself is spacious, located on either side of the clubhouse and the lesson area there are multiple lanes to choose from. The prices are reasonable and the targets on the range are easy to spot. Overall would make the time to come out here again in the near future read more

3 stars total....5 stars for the range, practice facilities and staff. 1/2 stars for the par 3 course that only had one hole I could use a club other than my GW or 56 degree. Fairways and greens were real rough and the tee boxes were awful....and to have to wait 10 min at each hole because the other people out on the course can't hit a ball of they tried...I'll pay the extra $5 and play any of the other par 3 9 hole course in the area that wayyyy better. read more

This place is just what it advertises to be. A small short Par 3 course. Well maintained and nice clean greens. The staff is great. I played a day after a thunderstorm and the course was 95% dry. Can't wait to go back. read more

Great driving range with grass tees (weather permitting). Short par 3 course is an excellent place to work on your game. I think the longest hole is 140 yds. The grounds are well maintained and there are several experienced pros for lessons. My son and I took lessons from Tim...very helpful. A great experience. read more

I'm just golfing again after not playing for 15 years. My wife started playing in April so you can consider us both beginners. This was the first course we played after we took our first golf lessons. And we've played it several times as we're honing our skills. For beginners this course is a 5. It's short so you can use your easier clubs throughout the course. The fairways are very wide, so you can have a fair amount of slice or hook and stay on/near the fairway. The greens are pretty flat. All in all, this course lets beginners practice their strokes in an enjoyable and satisfying manner. The course is also kid friendly. For intermediate to advanced players, this course is way too easy. There are no par fours, bunkers or other challenges. And most of the golfers are beginners like my wife and I, so advanced players might be frustrated. The driving range is great. It has many distance markers as well as many targets to aim at. Overall, This is a very affordable and easy to play course for beginners and parents with kids. read more

Good place to learn the game, cheap. Lots of slow play but that's acceptable at a beginner's course. Definitely good for kids. Large grass driving range, easy location to get to. If you have kids that want to learn golf, bring them to places like here or Boughton Ridge in Bolingbrook, don't waste your money and other people's time at full-length courses. read more

The range is excellent. The course is excellent for beginners and perfect for parents with their kids (very kid friendly). It's also good for seasoned golfers that want to squeeze in a quick 9 to work on their short game. The longest hole is 160 yards so it's a 9 iron through wedge course for most. read more

This is a great course to use to work on your short game. All you really need is a 9 iron and a putter to get through it, and it'll only take about 90 minutes if you have one other person with you. It's also a really good course to take your kids who are just learning to golf. Not too expensive, either. read more
