"Overrated" might actually be generous. The tint job itself was solid, but everything around the experience was not. The location is completely inhospitable, no waiting area, no nearby amenities, and you're basically forced to rideshare back and forth. In my case, that alone cost a ridiculous amount. Not their fault, but it is part of the customer experience. I paid about $1,000 to tint a coupe, which feels excessive when similar work in the city runs closer to $600-$700. At least in the city, you can pick up your car in daylight, actually see the work, and have someone walk you to your car turn the lights on and/or answer questions. Here, the lot is dark, hard to navigate, and just not convenient. My car was parked outside in the dark parking lot which is already black on black and they have a well lit interior garage. I picked the car up the rep didn't walk with me around the car...nothing. The quality of the work was good and the staff was fine, no issues there, but between the pricing and the location, I wouldn't go back. I'm sure there are comparable shops in the city that deliver the same quality without the hassle. read more

Staff are very friendly and answer all of your questions. I had a ceramic coat applied to my vehicle a couple months ago and they did a wonderful job. The ONLY hiccup I ran into regards job completion time. I was told the day I dropped the vehicle off that it'd be ready at the latest 2 days later (very favorable), though an additional day was requested due to overbooked appointments. In my case this wasn't problematic. Overall the quality of communication and service was exceptional and I DO recommend their services. I was looking for somewhere to take my 2024 Grabber Blue Mustang GT to get some PPF, ceramic coating, and window tint. I called and talked to Alex and asked a few questions. I live just outside of Detroit. He said, you know thats not that far away. I took him up on it and brought my car in for full front PPF with rocker panels, ceramic coating over entire car, including wheels and all the windows tinted. I could not of made a better decision the work is impeccable. Alex and Dan made the entire process seamless. Speaking of seams... Dan had to show me a very well done seam by the rocker panel. You need a detail done to your car . Look no further best in chicago land area . I took my car there after i had it painted by a shop . But they left it outside on the rain and water spots got in to the clear coat . I really thought i tossed $13k in the drain but wanted to see if any one could help out . So i found them and drove to the shop it was a 2 weeks wait time but i was so upset about it that he decided to not let the car leave the shop . And took it in . I went back the next day and boy I wasn't disappointed at all my whole face changed and I instantly fell in love with my car . Put very simply AMAZING. So arguably there are many reputable detailer shops around and most of them do extremly fine work at fair prices in Chicago's suburbs becasuse quite simply they HAVE to. No shortage of places to go if your not happy with business A, B's right around the block. I brought in my Honda Accord Touring model Thursday morning, picked it up Friday at closing. Jet black with swirl marks deeply embedded, minor scratches from daily driving and wanted the windows tinted. I met with Jimmy who's just a great guy that's only interested in letting you know anything and everything about the service your wanting, knows his cars and somebody you want working for you that's for sure. The shop is huge, and CLEAN unlike many shops which means a lot btw, the employees are extremly friendly and knowledgeable and enjoy being there instead of just having to work there you can tell, he explained everything down to the last syllable and furthermore didn't attempt to sell me on shit I didn't want or need which is great, and when he took me back to get the car I'm like "Holy crap they have another car like mine but never driven" ... yup, that's how good she looked, paint correction, wax and sealant along with tinting everything but front windshield at 35 in less than 48 hours. I had to double check my vin # to see if the car wasn't swapped out, better then when I drove it home from dealer. They were working on 200k dollar cars and economy cars, BOTH,, recieved high end treatment from what I personally witnessed. Great HONEST folks that know their stuff hands down, while being humble about it and treating you like family. I just had our new 2019 SQ5 paint corrected and a clear bra (paint protection film, PPF) installed. Did the entire front end and the full rear bumper. Can't even tell its there! I did some research and after going to three shops and getting a quote from the dealer, I went to Chicago Auto Pros for a couple of reasons. The first one was the facility and the room where they perform their PPF installation and do their ceramic coatings. You can't see it in the pictures, but it's a very large bay with about six double garage doors. It's climate controlled inside and nothing is blowing into these rooms. They have a lift for the PPF installation and I would say most importantly, they have excellent lighting. Outside they have a huge wash area, plus then the detail area that you can see in the pictures below. They were not the cheapest, but after visiting two other facilities, and considering their proximity to my house, I choose Chicago Auto Pros Detail. I started with an email, they quoted me almost immediately, then I visited, and met Jimmy, Greg and Justin. Like all the places I visited, they are car guys. I will bring my other cars over in the winter when they need a great hand wash (do it myself in the summer), or maybe I just want to hang in the waiting room and talk cars for a while while they are washing it! Though being an intelligent consumer (such as yourselves) I opted to try this place based on positive reviews and owner responses to any negative posts... Classy The place has an interesting feel, like the employees actually want to be there. Even the dog walking around was very friendly and clean. Shout out to Amy, wonderful working with you! If I could give this place 6 out of 5 stars I would, hands down. Also, for those on a budget, remember that tipping is customary... As well it should be. These guys clearly busted their arse cleaning my rust colored stains off of a white 2001 gmc jimmy. I tipped 15%, so that will come out to around $40 additional. TOTALLY WORTH IT! A few weeks ago I had them do ceramic window tinting on my 2014 Nissan Maxima. They did a great job on the tint and I was ecstatic with how it turned out. While I was there, they talked to me about the scratched & swirl marks on my car. Yes, I was stupid and took my car through some cheap car washes during the Chicago winter. I want to know who is that little kid/guy who is at the front desk. Every time I go there it seems like he can't help me in ANYTHING AT ALL. I ask him questions and he always tells me everything is in the website. Seems like he tells people to look at the website just so one can walk out the premises. Everyone else stops what they are doing and tries their best to get me the best help I can get EXCEPT him. Tried getting help for the membership he goes and tells me it's on the website, try to get supplies he can't get help because certain hours they are close, but last time I went around the same time and a different person gladly helped me out and checked me out with supplies. Their service is very expensive and overrated. The good: They did admit doing wrong. They did offer to refund me $200 out of $1,600 I paid. They did apologize. The bad: they wasted my time. They did nit perform what a $1,600 should look like. Their communication is very poor when it it comes to the service but its excellent when it comes to taking booking fee. The UGLY: the BS the Rep. gave me when talking about what happened, specifically: "we definitely learned from the mistakes we did on your car....." but I still paid for it!! The Details: I took my 2001 BMW 740i, yes its not a 100k car but its MY 100k car, for an exterior and interior detailing. They offered the exterior enhancement package a $950 service that, according to the sales Rep., should have transformed my car. The car needed paint touch up, polish the exterior black trim, a few scratches on the sides and the trunk. The interior needed treatment and cleaning. I also added a PDR (Painless Dent Removal) service, i had three of them, they quoted me $550 to remove all three of them. That was based on the PDR assessor's evaluation. I got the car back with the exterior clean and polished, the scratches are NOT gone, the black trim was NOT polished correctly and NO paint touch ups were done. When I asked the Rep. what's gaining on, his initial response was: "they worked on it and did everything they could" I asked why this dent is not removed? The Rep. said: " he did his best but couldn't reach it" after a little back and forth since the dent is on the wheel arch, the Rep. took the car back in the shop and then told me that the paint touch ups were not done because they didn't Have teh matching paint. We are sorry we didn't tell you and the dent is still there because the PDR Professional was not comfortable working on it And we are sorry we didn't tell you. We definitely want to make this right by you, please bring the car again sometime in the future or if you have another car that you would like to bring in let us know and we would make it right! And I'll talk to management and see what we can do about a refund. The said they will refund me $200. The interior: they cleaned it but not detail it. When I asked why? they said we usually ask for external help when it comes to detailing interior. I swear, I took a leather cleaner (form autozone) put it on a microfiber cloth and rubbed the seals and they cleaned. Apparently that requires an external service. in my world everything that happened is an insult. it may not be a 100k car or worthy of their time, they could've said no to taking the car Or at least, refund me the $150 for the PDR that wasn't done and at $600 for a job not done at all! But they chose not to and chose to apologize and tell me that they learned a lesson on my expense. You can decide for yourself! read more

I should have believed the review of the negative comments because that's what I got. I'd be cautious if I were you. You'll pay alot of money and get sub par work. They ceramic coated right over very slight swirls on my car and told me they were too deep. Well I went to a much cheaper and DEFINITELY much more honest place and had them paint correct it and a new coating and looks better than the rest of the car. A bit disappointed with my service yesterday (and the past few visits). CAPD&T is the only place I have taken my car while living in the Chicago area, and note my car is only a year old and I have only lived here about a year. I travel from Oak Park based on the reputation here. Don't get me wrong the entire staff has been nothing but COURTEOUS and PROFESSIONAL -- however, there are often watermark spots around the side view mirrors and trunk which didn't bother me much, even though an exterior wash with tip runs about $30 and interior/exterior wash with tip runs about $55, until my visit yesterday. When my car was pulled out of the facility, the driveway was already shaded, but I noticed two heavy lines of dirt running top to bottom of the windshield. I let Justin know and he informed the person who washed my car -- again, both were COURTEOUS and PROFESSIONAL and handled it accordingly. I was already en route to my home when I noticed, in the sunlight, that the windows did not seem cleaned or wiped down. At this point, the level of annoyance was quite elevated. Upon arrival to my home, I ended up having to clean all the windows myself, but thought to myself -- why was this missed in an exterior wash? read more

I realize I am in the minority here as I looked at all the great reviews before I had my windows tinted. I had the XPEL Prime XR put on windows and windshield in October 2020. The guys called and said my car was done and it looked great from the outside. As I drove away, I noticed the windshield tint was already peeling off. I figured mistakes happen and they fixed it immediately. Now, 6 months later and the same windshield tint is peeling off. For that reason I called them, got a standard estimate and showed up for assessment. After a few minutes they realized there would be some adjustments due to muah cars condition/configuration and were upfront and honest about the extra time and attention the car would need. No b***s***, and no surprises. The process was thoroughly explained and they took delivery of my car. The work was expected to take 4 days , but with extra detail needed, it took 6 days. They had explained this might be necessary and continued to provide 2 updates throughout the process.
