Julie the owner of Chic Optique is not a good business owner. Julie would not accept responsibility for her staff and business mistakes. Terrible business practices here! I simply called today to order two boxes of contacts. The staff member could not locate my file. I asked the staff person to ask Julie to help her find my file ( one that is 15 years old ). Julie left me a voicemail saying my prescription was expired. And I would need a new exam! I called to speak with Julie and told her that I did have an eye exam there in May of this year and my prescription would not be expired. When I asked for a discount on the lenses Julie declined immediately. It certainly is a shame when a business owner cannot accept responsibility and try to make it right for a customer of15 years. Earlier this year when I made the appointment for the exam she didn't think I had, her staff thought I was my deceased husband who has been dead for three years! I was recently given new eyeglass prescriptions. When I get new prescriptions I normally get three pair of eyeglasses. One pair for colorblind assistance, one pair of normal progressives and one pair of polarized sunglasses. As is my usual habit, I went to Chic Optique where I had always had a very good relationship and have purchased thousands of dollars' worth of eyeglasses in the past, and where they've always been most helpful. But not this time. To my shocking surprise, this time they were snotty, arrogant, surly and totally unhelpful. I nearly ran to get out of the place with the mindset that I'll never return. I had decided to first get my colorblind assist eyeglasses which they do no sell and cannot handle, but to order them I needed my pupil distance; a rather easy simple matter to determine and one that involves no overhead cost on their part. But they refused to do it with the words "if we don't sell it (which they are unable to do anyway) we won't do that," without any alternate suggestions or helpfulness. Because of that shot of unnecessary surly nastiness I sure as heck will not buy the other eyeglasses that they do sell from them. I'll go elsewhere for them as well as all of my future eyeglass needs. Like I was really aghast at such attitude along with their lack of any helpful suggestions. So for me it's adios and goodbye to Chic Optique. You've lost me as a customer. I'll never buy from you again nor will I ever recommend you to anyone else I had in the past. read more

I happen to go into their store while eating at a restaurant nearby. I was just browsing frames and to that point had always gotten my glasses from LensCrafters. Their sales person, Julie, was so sweet, and spent so much time with me discussing all the things I've learned during my first three years of wearing glasses. We basically designed the perfect pair for me, even though I was not buying that day. She told me come by anytime, and that she would remember our conversation. Sure enough, when it came time to buy a new pair about 6 months later, I went back, and she did remember me! I bought an amazing pair of Persols with all the features I had been wanting, and she even made adjustments to the lenses after I got them to make sure they were absolutely perfect. They couldn't be nicer there, and even if they were a little more expensive than a LensCrafters, when I calculate in the service and expertise, they are more than worth it. What a wonderful place! I have never seen such a huge selection of designer frames. Just a few off the top of my head Gucci, Tom Ford, Versace and many more. You can definitely find the frames of your dreams here. The store is clean and brightly lit. They have a comfy sofa if you would like to sit. They are also dog friendly. The staff is all amazing they definitely know their stuff. I was happily greeted when I walked in and made to feel at ease. They have an optometrist on site. He is nice and very thorough in his exam. They take numerous different insurance plans. I have gotten my glasses here for the last 5 years and they always fit them properly on my face making adjustments here and there till they are perfectly fitted. I was traveling from Atlanta staying in Wilton Manors and tore my contact lens. I had no backup and needed to stop in and get an eye exam and contact lens prescription. Chic Optique obliged me at 1pm on a Saturday after walking in to ask about an appointment at 10AM. Dr. Asalone was an absolute charm and honestly was the most pleasant eye exam I've had in years. I was not told I am out of network until after the eye exam. Then I was told not to worry that United HC would reimburse me and I would pay next to nothing in the end. Not true.. United said they only will give me $40 back. I called chic optique to discuss with them and they called me a liar and said they never told me that. Now they wont make my glasses and said to come get a refund. Buyer beware!! The guy up front has a major attitude and lied about my reimbursement from the insurance. Deceptive!!!! read more

Their selection is amazing from all the big designers to ones I hadn't heard of. I wear my glasses from the moment I wake till bedtime so I wanted something light weight. I went with a brand called igreen. It took me forever to decide and this staff couldn't have been nicer. They were fun and accommodating. They worked with me until we got the perfect fit. Purchased the best set of no line bifocals about 2 years ago Got the latest transition lenses so wouldn't have to get sunglasses. They put me into the best frames for my lifestyle, didn't try and up sale me on some nonsense designer frames or needless upgrades ! My Oakley's have served me well and whenever I've needed an adjustment or minor repair they helped immediately with a smile and without charge .... I have been wearing glasses for 27 years. NEVER have I had such a horrible experience. I have spent hundreds (aprox $700 plus what insurance covered) on three pair of glasses that I cannot use. The first time I called, from out of state where 1 pair had been mailed to me, to complain that I could not see with the glasses, Julie said to me "I don't know what to tell you" I no longer live in Florida and just had to get new glasses. I visited to have my own experience as typically reviews are written when one is upset and not when quality service is received. When I arrived I asked to use the restroom as I was traveling from Miami and of course I was ignored and had to ask again 20 minutes later when I was allowed. While there a customer was arguing with Julie as he wanted to see an employee who was in the back and she kept telling him to leave and would not answer his questions. She told him a few times she would call the police if he didn't leave. I actually was getting a bit nervous as people are crazy these days. Anyhow when he was leaving, he made it clear to all in the store to be careful of this place and to make sure we know what we are getting ourselves into as these are nasty people. He also called her by some unpleasant names and left. While trying on glasses, Julie was somewhat pleasant but as time went on she became abrupt, often cutting me off while I was talking and less interested. I didn't get a good vibe but since I saw frames I liked, I scheduled an appointment. The next day I canceled because I truly wasn't happy with the experience plus the reviews on Yelp and of course the customer being super upset with them were all signs. I called later on to ask for the model number of the frames I had liked and what do you know I was told they don't give out model numbers over the phone. What's the difference with them telling me the model number and me going back or sending someone to write it off the frames?? Stupid. I found somewhere else and they don't have the frames I wanted but I decided that GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE is more important. I would avoid this place!! These reviews actually don't lie ! read more

{Silhouette rimless, screwless, hingeless, almost weightless eyewear for men and women is sophisticated and incredibly durable)... This place took my $500 SILHOUETTE Lenses and RUINED them. I was not told beforehand that the arm I purchased and wanted replaced was done completely at my peril. Karen took my glasses and replaced the arms. However by fixing the lense to the arm with ordinary SCOTCH TAPE (as a temporary hold in repair) this removed the expensive anti-glare coating with a very noticeable tape imprint on the lenses. I asked what could be done or if any rebate or repair was available to me but was told by her and staff that there were no guarantees on repairs to used lenses. The lenses should have been inspected and I SHOULD HAVE BEEN TOLD about any possible damage which might occur during a repair. This is not a professional way to handle a business and offer good will to customers with a premium product repair. SHAME ON YOU !!! Shame on you Karen read more
