Through the whole process, Orlando's was right there with us with compassion, love, and understanding. They bent their own rules by doing away with their standard minimum guest count, still honored the per person price, gave us a partial refund and credit towards goods and services for the big day. This was totally above and beyond what we would have expected for any business in an industry hit extremely hard by the pandemic, they took the loss in fairness to us and that right there tells you the integrity of the business in extremely tough times. If that was how the story ended, that would be enough to give a 5 star review. But the wedding weekend absolutely blew us away and far exceeded our expectations. We booked out the majority of the rooms at the Lodge at Grant's Trail (owned by Orlando's), hosted our rehearsal dinner at the lodge, and had our reception at Orlando's. I would recommend this trifecta for any couple looking for a great place to host the wedding weekend. The lodge is a perfect Airbnb feel, with the privacy and convenience of a hotel room (having private bathrooms is nice). We had the entire lodge to ourselves that weekend which allowed us to have a central location for all of our family and friends to hang out before and after the official start times of our weekend events. The Mary Lincoln and Abe Lincoln room were perfect for bride/groom separated sleeping the night before and big suite on wedding night. The included breakfast is cooked to order and served as if you were at a restaurant. The venue space worked perfectly for a rehearsal dinner and allowed everyone to safely walk to their rooms after the party instead of having to drive. The lodge is a MUST add-on to the wedding weekend when booking at Orlando's. Did I mention it's walking distance to Orlando's event center?? Huge plus. Our reception was at Orlando's event center and it was everything we had hoped for and more. First of all, the room itself was beautifully decorated and was the perfect amount of space. They have three separate rooms in the event center, separated by air walls, which to be honest was a big concern for me going into it. I thought you might be able to hear everything going on the next room over, but never heard anything from the other rooms the whole night. The prices are a great value compared to everywhere else we looked (and we looked at a lot of places). Finally and most importantly, the staff there was incredible and put the icing on the cake of a perfect weekend. We ended up having Sam Orlando Jr. as our wedding coordinator and his customer service was EXCELLENT. Always willing to work with us and always went above and beyond to make us feel special and to ensure we had the most perfect weekend. From the top down, everyone on the staff was personable, friendly, attentive, and willing to go the extra mile to make sure we felt special. Carol was a crowd favorite and Timmie the bartender even sent us a handwritten note after we got home from our honeymoon. The staff and the service are the reasons we will be returning to Orlando's for future gatherings and parties and why we would recommend anyone to book with Orlando's for their wedding weekend.

Last night I attended one of my favorite nonprofits' biggest fundraiser of the year. A room full of…read morepeople gathered to raise money for families who lose their babies -- served completely free of charge. These are families in the worst moments of their lives. This nonprofit deserves the very best. What they got was Le Belle Coeur. Here is what happened. Staff was late that morning, blaming traffic. When they finally opened the space, it was still set up from the night before. Dirty tables. Not even close to what was arranged. And while this tiny team of women was trying to set up for one of the most important nights of their year, Le Belle Coeur was giving wedding tours through the space. Food arrived over an hour late. There was one server. One. For 125 people. The service was so slow that the nonprofit's own staff had to stop what they were doing and help serve dinner. Guests and volunteers pitched in. Some people did not eat until 8:30. I personally had to DoorDash dinner to the venue because by the time I made it through the food line after 8:00, I was told there were no gluten free options -- despite being promised there would be. The server just looked at me. That was it. Once the food line cleared, that server disappeared. We never saw them again. Tables were never cleared. Water glasses sat empty. The only staff visible for the rest of the night was the bartender -- also one person, for the entire room. At some point we watched Le Belle Coeur employees leave the building carrying food across the street to their sister venue. That tells you everything about where their priorities were. There was no working speaker system. No music. There was no projector. They could not find it and did not tell anyone until that evening. No slide deck. No videos. No way to display donor names as people gave. No way for families to share photos alongside the stories of their babies. No way to honor sponsors. That moment is the whole point of the night. Gone. Not one apology. Not one moment of accountability. Not one staff member who appeared to care. I have grace for a hiccup when a team is visibly trying to make it right. That is not what this was. This was failure after failure with zero ownership. Here is what breaks my heart. This nonprofit does extraordinary work for families in the most devastating moments of their lives -- for free. Their largest fundraiser of the year was undermined at every turn by a venue that was simply not there. People left early. People went elsewhere to eat. I would be shocked if this experience did not cost oir nonprofit significant donations. Would Le Belle Coeur have let a wedding go this way? I genuinely don't know. What I do know is that whether it was negligence or indifference, a room full of people who came to honor babies who died were not worth showing up for. Do not book Le Belle Coeur.

This is a gorgeous estate just overlooking the Missouri river near Spanish Lake. This was an old dairy farm a couple generations ago. It is still a working farm today it appears. The wedding we attended was a modest sized outdoor wedding. The gazebo where the wedding took place was on a bluff overlooking the river. There was a tent and air-conditioned bathrooms nearby. What a gorgeous evening. Of course everything had to work out with great weather and no rain. I'm not sure if the food was brought in or organized by the estate. During this wedding, it was set up buffett style. Overall very good. With tender chicken and pasta. Looks like this place is highly rated on the Knot. Overall we had a wonderful experience and a wonderful time at the wedding.

First off, the pricing for this venue feels unfair, in the sense that for everything that you get, I don't think the price is high enough. Secondly, the farm is a true, authentic farm and not some phony location made to look like one. Finally, this property has breathtaking and unbeatable photography spots. My fiance and I were supposed to get married here several years ago. There was an unfortunate turn of events and, long story short, we did not get married. I was devastated. I called and asked for my money back, given my circumstances. I didn't get my money back, and even though it sucked, it's fine, because October 13 is a prime date, and venues don't exist and maintain themselves for by magic (though, Kuhs Farm so beautiful that you'd think it we're). That's just life. Ruining their reputation wouldn't have resolved my pain, financial issues, or any other problems I had going on in my life; it's sad to see that some people left such negative reviews thinking that it would resolve theirs. Whomever is reading these reviews, don't buy the stack of 1-star reviews. Clearly, they don't follow the rest of the trend. Do yourself a favor and tour the venue and talk to the owner (Elizabeth). You'll be happy you chose this place, seriously.

Wonderful Venue for Private Event!…read more We had a wonderful experience from start to finish for a Champagne Brunch we held at Wild Flower Loft in mid-December. Jackie was on top of everything while planning the event and was very kind and quick to reply to all of my questions along the way. They were very flexible by allowing us to hire a florist of our choice for centerpieces and by having the chef customize menu items to accommodate our tastes. Nate was our captain/host the day of the event and was on top of everything from helping us get the music playlist running (they have a wireless Sonos speaker system), to setting up their projector and screen so we could run a slideshow during the event. All of our guests thought the venue was beautiful, and everyone commented on how delicious the brunch was (guests are still talking about the ham and egg strata - yum!). The venue has amazing character with a beautiful tin ceiling, fireplaces, and multiple windows, plus it was beautifully decorated for the holidays. It is up one flight of stairs (there is a landing halfway that can accommodate a chair if you have guests that need a rest), but once you are upstairs everything you need is there (restrooms, coat racks). The absolute worst were the egg salad sandwiches, which had clearly been prepared over a day in advance. The bread was so dry you could barely pick up a sandwich without it breaking. The egg salad inside was bland and boring. The only thing that wasn't terrible was the fruit (and how could someone mess up fruit?) but it still was served in tiny portions and the fruit station was not refilled to keep up with the pace of the guests in the buffet line. The restaurant may have decent food (I can't say for sure, I haven't ever eaten there) but using the loft area for a private event was a huge disappointment. We were livid at the quality of food we were given for the price we paid. I've had a better meal at IHOP. If you are thinking about using the Wild Flower loft, don't do it! I hosted a surprise party here for my husband's birthday, and it went off without a hitch. Adisa and Adnan answered all my questions quickly in the months leading up to the surprise, and because an event was not planned the night beforehand, they even let me come and drop off beverages for chilling. We had Aya Sofia (Mediterranean restaurant in South STL City) cater the party, and they did a fantastic job of coordinating the drop-off and pick-up of their serving ware, and the food was a hit. We had an open self-service bar, which guests appreciated but did get a bit crowded as a lot of people tend to gather near the huge kitchen counter where the bar is located. The facility does have one step inside, but the Atelier 1879 team has made their facility fully accessible with a portable ramp that fits nicely over the step. Adisa and Adnan have thought of everything! Parking was not an issue for our guests. It's a residential neighborhood and is positioned next door to Yemanja Brasil Restaurant (which is delicious!). Since I was planning from New York, Megan accommodated us by allowing us to visit the space in-person on a weekend while I was home for my bridal shower. She even FaceTimed me for a second walkthrough! A.casa provided different catering options, set-up candles, provided vases, designed a furniture / seating chart based on our vision, recommended where to get our welcome sign printed, etc. They even printed their own bar sign to match our welcome sign! I will start by saying, I've never written a negative review. We read a lot of reviews before we…read morebegan to plan our daughters wedding, therefore I don't think it's fair that I NOT write one. We started the process with a young lady , who was wonderful btw, assured us that they were used to Spring weddings and explained how the set up would be for inclement weather. We met with her to secure the timeline, etc.. She assured us that they were professionals and did not need to secure a "day of" wedding person. This was a very intimate wedding with less than 50 total and without a bridal party. Therefore we took her word on this statement. This was September of 2024. Two months before the wedding, May 2025, our point person was longer employed at a.Casa. They required us to come in and have yet another meeting to go over all the details that was already planned out with the other person, timeline etc.. The wedding ceremony was to take place outside and the reception was planned for in and out. About 3 hours before the ceremony was to take place I called let them know that we wanted to move it inside completely because it had already started to sprinkle and was forecasted to continue raining the rest of the day. I was told by the woman in charge, and there were two ladies from the venue present, that tables could not be moved. I was told the bride would have to walk between the tables that was set up for the reception. I offered to send several men from our family to come and help move things around if they needed help. She refused to budge and said again that they could not be moved, and our daughter would have to walk between the tables as an isle. The officiator went to the venue and offered to help move things around. The lady argued with him and said it could not happen. This went on for close to a half hour, she finally threw her hands up and told him to do whatever he wanted to do. WHICH was to merely make a seating area so that the bride could walk down an isle and not between the reception tables with people sitting at them. The officiator and one of my sons in law made room for guest seating and immediately after the ceremony they both moved everything back for the reception. It took at the most 10 min to move things back into place for the reception. Their refusal to make an isle with guest seating was very unprofessional. Arguing with the officator was very unprofessional. As we were taking photos, directly after the ceremony, I realized that all of our flowers that were to be given to mothers, fathers, officiator and ring bearer were never given out. I will end it here and just say that IF you choose to use this venue, make sure that you have hire a Day-of coordinator. You WILL need it.
