Central West End

My husband and I got married at The McPherson in November 2019. We are so grateful, it was a 65…read moredegree day and then the next it was snowing! Anyway, prior to deciding on this venue, we had toured other venues near CWE and what really sealed it for us was Phillip. We toured the venue with Phillip, he worked within our budget, treated us impeccably well, was very easy to coordinate the wedding day-of events, he was beyond attentive on our wedding day, and he made sure I was taken care of on our wedding day. As soon as he knew we were good to go (after cocktails) he let us go about our evening with the reception. We had both the ceremony and reception here. When I say that we did nothing on our wedding day, we did nothing! Phillip's team flipped the room from the ceremony to the reception in less than 30 minutes so that my wedding party can decorate. Our decorations were minimal because the venue is the statement. You actually do not need a lot of decorations (unless you want to, then you do you!) but we thought the venue was so gorgeous. I attached some photos for some inspiration and hopefully it inspires you to book The McPherson. Location: I am from Los Angeles so having my family come to STL and spending some time in CWE was a no brainer. The McPherson has a large parking lot for any guests coming with cars. We stayed at The Chase after our wedding so location was so convenient. Venue: Marvelous! There was a bridal room and even a groom's room! The bridal room was downstairs and reminded me of a salon! My niece-in-laws and bridal party had so much fun in the bridal room while we waited for guests to arrive. There is even a tv for you to see when guests arrive and where they are sitting. The back patio was so romantic. No decorations needed! Catering: The McPherson partners with Russo's catering. Food was a delight! I am not too picky however for some reason I do recall how food at a wedding was, that's just me. I don't care too much about grand flowers or a massive cake. To each their own! Russo's invited us to a tasting and holy gryffindor! It was so much fun. Very detailed, well organized, and we felt so special! Our catering contact scheduled an appointment with us closer to our wedding date to talk through details. Super easy to work with! Their team puts everything together and breaks everything down! Some of my family members are gluten free, some needed high chairs, and Russo's had a full plan for all our special needs! We went with passed appetizers right after the ceremony and they were a hit! We also went with assorted desserts, they were bite sized and we instead of a large cake we went with a token cake just to cut for photos. We also hand picked all five of our dessert options! Every time my husband and I reminisce about our wedding day, we cannot think of anything that went wrong and that is mostly due to this venue, the catering company, and you gotta have a top notch wedding party. Happy planning! With Lots of Love, Phil and Jackie

Lovely venue for wedding, anniversary or any large gathering. Beautiful interior, large accessible…read morerestrooms. Everything was spotless. There is a large semi covered enclosed patio; didn't get any pics outdoors. Free, private convenient parking lot across the street; big bonus for the Central West End.

We were a "COVID Couple" that had originally planned to get married in May with 100+ guests, but…read morewhen quarantine rolled around, we made the difficult decision to move our date to September and cut our guest list to below 50. Through the whole process, Orlando's was right there with us with compassion, love, and understanding. They bent their own rules by doing away with their standard minimum guest count, still honored the per person price, gave us a partial refund and credit towards goods and services for the big day. This was totally above and beyond what we would have expected for any business in an industry hit extremely hard by the pandemic, they took the loss in fairness to us and that right there tells you the integrity of the business in extremely tough times. If that was how the story ended, that would be enough to give a 5 star review. But the wedding weekend absolutely blew us away and far exceeded our expectations. We booked out the majority of the rooms at the Lodge at Grant's Trail (owned by Orlando's), hosted our rehearsal dinner at the lodge, and had our reception at Orlando's. I would recommend this trifecta for any couple looking for a great place to host the wedding weekend. The lodge is a perfect Airbnb feel, with the privacy and convenience of a hotel room (having private bathrooms is nice). We had the entire lodge to ourselves that weekend which allowed us to have a central location for all of our family and friends to hang out before and after the official start times of our weekend events. The Mary Lincoln and Abe Lincoln room were perfect for bride/groom separated sleeping the night before and big suite on wedding night. The included breakfast is cooked to order and served as if you were at a restaurant. The venue space worked perfectly for a rehearsal dinner and allowed everyone to safely walk to their rooms after the party instead of having to drive. The lodge is a MUST add-on to the wedding weekend when booking at Orlando's. Did I mention it's walking distance to Orlando's event center?? Huge plus. Our reception was at Orlando's event center and it was everything we had hoped for and more. First of all, the room itself was beautifully decorated and was the perfect amount of space. They have three separate rooms in the event center, separated by air walls, which to be honest was a big concern for me going into it. I thought you might be able to hear everything going on the next room over, but never heard anything from the other rooms the whole night. The prices are a great value compared to everywhere else we looked (and we looked at a lot of places). Finally and most importantly, the staff there was incredible and put the icing on the cake of a perfect weekend. We ended up having Sam Orlando Jr. as our wedding coordinator and his customer service was EXCELLENT. Always willing to work with us and always went above and beyond to make us feel special and to ensure we had the most perfect weekend. From the top down, everyone on the staff was personable, friendly, attentive, and willing to go the extra mile to make sure we felt special. Carol was a crowd favorite and Timmie the bartender even sent us a handwritten note after we got home from our honeymoon. The staff and the service are the reasons we will be returning to Orlando's for future gatherings and parties and why we would recommend anyone to book with Orlando's for their wedding weekend.

She was so kind, accommodating, and generous with us throughout the whole process! The evening turned out absolutely beautiful, the food was delicious, and every detail was orchestrated perfectly. My husband and I met the owner of Endy Events, Bryon Endy, at a Rainbow Wedding Expo and, after…read moresome really positive interactions, we hired them for our Oct. 11, 2025 wedding for DJ, photography, and videography. Planning went smoothly overall, and Bryon was helpful in guiding decisions we hadn't considered. Our only service-related critique is that the photographer provided minimal direction during posed photos. Otherwise, the day itself went well, and the DJ was excellent--we still receive compliments on the music. The main issues arose after the wedding. Our contract stated we would receive our digital photo gallery within eight weeks. We only received updates after repeatedly reaching out post-deadline, and ultimately received the gallery six days late (and two days after the second communicated date) with no apologies. While we understand fall is a busy wedding season, the lack of proactive communication was frustrating. The photos themselves were lovely for the most part. Further delays have occurred with the USB containing our videography. After confirming our mailing address on December 13 and being told to expect the USB in 2-3 weeks, we still have not received it. Multiple follow-up emails we sent have gone unanswered, and it is now four weeks past the expected delivery window. While we recognize delays (and life) can happen, the consistent lack of communication around paid-for deliverables is unprofessional. Although the DJ service was top tier, we simply cannot recommend Endy Events to couples who expect timely delivery and clear communication for their final products.

They even accommodated our request (each time) for our favorite photographer of theirs. Bryon the owner is so nice and easy to talk with. He seems to take pride in running his business well and taking care of his clients. I highly recommend them and will definitely use them again.
