Tricky policies, when you have no issues all is well but, No Returns or refunds??? They don't tell you that there are no returns. We got a $400 dress, wanted to return next day in mid week, because there was some issue we did not notice while in store. I understand their concern that people will ware and return but we got it on Tuesday wanted to bring back next day. Owner basically gave me the middle finger and was disinterested to solve problem. I was promised a $19.99 bag for my gown which cost me $550.00 once I said I would take it somewhere else for alterations he told me he is not giving me the bag and to stop speaking... This guy is out of control - I am so sick to my stomach that I even spent the $$$ I did with him .... My sister and niece also bought their dresses here - we spent close to $2,000 here... My daughter chose a Jovani dress for her jr prom. I was told it would be in the store in three weeks -it took 5 weeks to get there which left little time to have it fitted to begin with(they always tell you 3 weeks when they know its a longer!-not the first time for me ) She tried on a size 2 in the store but we ordered a size 4 to give a little room and that way it could be adjusted. As she tried it on beads were popping off in her hands. The dress was 2 inches too small around the waist and she couldn't zipper the back up all the way. I brought it to my local seamstress and she said all she could do was let out the seams. When she did this it made two strips down each side of the bodice with no sequins . It looks ridiculous! I called the store and asked to speak to a manager - who I understand is a male- however I spoke to a female. She admitted that the fit was the fault of Jovani and told me all she could do was give me a 20% discount on my next purchase.!! And she said she would call Jovani. I wish I had read the reviews before purchasing a dress from this place. All the negative reviews are correct. Chic Boutique at the Palisades Mall has NO customer service. My daughter tried on a JOVANI dress in the store and ordered it in a different color. When I went to pick it up, I commented that this didn't look like the dress because it has multi-colored stones on it. The manager assured me it was just the way the light was hitting it. When I brought the dress home, we all agreed that the stones were different colors. I went back within 5 days of picking up the dress and was told by a female worker that yes, those stones are indeed multi-colored. I approached the manager and he basically told me "Too bad, all sales are final. We can't help you." He wouldn't consider ordering the same dress in a different color or the same dress without the embellishment, which JOVANI makes. I thought this place was okay. It actually sucks. I ordered two prom dresses from here last year and both of them I tried on in store were too big. That was a size 12. They thought that I should order a size 10, and since I THOUGHT they were experts I decided to listen to them. I picked them up and they were hanging off my body. I went to my local tailor and it turns out I needed a size 6 - they ordered it too big on purpose to get me to go back and get alterations. My alternations costed more than one of the actual dresses. I went today to pick it up (3 weeks later) and they told me that my dress had not been started yet and it would be ready next week. Would give zero stars if I could... I ordered my dress new in January 2018 and they said it would take 4-6 weeks. I never got a phone call or email so I went in after 5 weeks and they told me they were behind and it would take 3 more weeks. Again, after no phone call or email, I went back to see if my dress was in 10 weeks later. They went in the back and brought out my dress and I paid the remaining balance. When I got home, I discovered that the dress was filthy and most likely not a brand new dress. I went back the very next day and they kept trying to convince me that "sometimes the dresses come like this." It is very hard to believe that the warehouses sell dirty dresses and even if they did, Chic Boutique should have never let me pay and leave their store with a filthy dress. Now I have already paid for the dress in full, and they took it back and said they would hold onto it until they could call the dress company about ordering a new one. Three days later they did not call me back (as they had promised) and I had to call them myself to learn that they may not be able to order me a new dress in time for my prom. So now I paid $400 and do not have a dress. I went to go pick up the dirty dress that I had already paid for, and "because they felt so bad" they attempted to clean it for me, however multiple beads were now falling off. They fixed the beading, but the dress was still stained. I ended up having to pay for it to get spot cleaned elsewhere and they still were not able to completely rid of the stain. Definitely would not recommend buying a dress here... awful customer service and they clearly do not care about the condition of the merchandise they are selling. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. I really wanted to like this place. I came here to get a dress for my engagement party. Unfortunately, the dress I initially paid for was unavailable in the color I wanted. I went back and tried on a few more dresses. I was told they had a limited number of dresses that were my size, which had not come up the first time I was there. I went on their website picked out a dress and ordered it through the store since they made it seem like they didn't have anything for me. When I was choosing a size one of the employees took my measurements and told me they'd be ordering me a size 18. Keep in mind I was trying on sizes 12 and 14 the last time and they were fitting. She ended up ordering me a 16 (after putting me in a size 14 from the same brand that fit perfect) saying that because the material did not stretch it would be best to go up a size. Went to pick it up and I was swimming in the dress. The best part is their no returns, exchanges, or refunds policy! After their employee makes a mistake I'm left with no dress and out $500. Went to my future mother in law who is a seamstress and she showed me how rushed and poorly made the dress was. She also was confused as to why they would order me a 16 when a 14 had fit me perfectly. She showed how much work would need to be done to make it fit and it was a lot. And even then it still wouldn't be a suitable dress. Their response to all this? We won't charge you the additional fee that is customary on alterations for "bigger" sizes. But I'd still be charged for alterations on a mistake they made. Also, maybe they aren't aware that the average woman in the United States is a size 14. I guess they're only used to working with sizes 4 and under? My mistake was trusting them in the first place, but I was under the impression they knew what they were talking about/doing. I bought a $400 prom dress on April 30. I asked Sonny, the owner if it could be shipped to the Poughkeepsie store. He told me no problem, 2 weeks. I called both stores two weeks after for 2 more weeks until I got an answer that I wasn't getting the dress I ordered because it was ruined when being delivered and they couldn't get me the dress in that size and color. I went back to Nyack 2 more times after that. I was told my daughter could get either grey or pink but not the original blue. Then I was told we down to pink only. the worker stated she would get it 2 day shipping. Went back a third time and got this story that the owner,Sonny wanted to charge me $50 for shipping. I told them I wanted a discount for my inconvenience and that this was not the dress I ordered to begin with. I got $70 back. I told the worker,Jessica that I would Never come back again and I discourage anyone to shop there or the store in Poughkeepsie as Sonny's mother owns that one! The prom is 1 week away and still need it hemmed and steamed.I got the dress JUNE 1st. Over a month. They should be ashamed of themselves. read more

WORST PLACE EVERY!!!! Long story short, I ordered my Bridal Dress on November 9,2015 for my wedding on August 27th,2016. Nine months later i still hadn't received my dress, when i called them they will not give me definite date of delivery and wouldn't assure me that I will receive my dress before the wedding date.I asked one the girls that works there, her name is Catherine, over the phone if there has been cases where the bride did not received her dress on time, she quote on quote told me "to tell you the truth yes its common for something like that to happen". This is when i realized that the manufacture wasn't the problem, which they kept trying to convince me it was. I came to the conclusion that the store never placed my order and was trying to play along as if the manufacturer were delayed on orders. BULL SHIT!!!! To make it even worst I asked for a refund on May 19, 2016, never received a conformation of such refund, nearly two weeks later on Mat 31,2016 the supposedly refund had not hit my account yet and the manager, which most think everyone is as stupid as him, kept claiming there was something wrong with my bank account and that the money had already left their account. When i asked for a confirmation of the refund he claimed he left it at home, lie #1561643. I told him i will call the next day and expect him to have the confirmation ready for me. When i called on June 1st 2016 they wouldn't pick up my calls until i called from a phone number other than my number, which they picked up at the second ring. When i requested the confirmation, i realized that the refund was made on May 13th 2016 not on the 19th like he assured he did. This store is full of corruptions and i don't recommend anyone to purchase any of their dresses. Also not to mention, they are over priced, I saw the same dress from same manufacture already in stock in another store for a even cheaper price. I BELIEVE A ONE STAR IS TOO MUCH FOR THEM!!! read more
