After making appointments with two well known bridal shops in NYC, I learned about Rebecca's designs and knew I had to try them on. As a plus sized bride, I had a lot of apprehension about stores not having options that would work for my body. But every dress in her collection comes in size 00-30! When I arrived for my appointment, I was in excellent hands with experienced design consultants Rose and Ellen. They were so patient and fun guiding me through trying on a bunch of different dresses - including several mix and match options! I was surprised by the dress I ended up falling in love with (the Shannon gown) but I felt so beautiful in it and Rose and Ellen really went above and beyond. I also just want to shout out the location - if you're located in NYC, you can take the Metro North straight there, and I mean literally straight to the studio. When you get off the train (45 min ride), it's a short walk through a super cute former industrial area that's now all restaurants and little shops, and the studio is right on the Hudson. This mark didn't exists when I dropped off the dress. When the next day (48 hrs before wedding) it was still there, she stopped replying to my messages. The front of my strapless dress was lopsided becoz she had removed boning to create room around the back zipper, so much so that she offered putting pads to fill the giant gap between my chest and the front. She has no idea how to do French bustles and instead suggests inverted-cones by pulling the dress up and pinning on the outside. Unprofessional and irresponsible. Not to mention how she runs a sweat shop in her garage, working the seamstress on weekends and odd hours.

My mom, grandma, mother-in-law, and 2 bridemaids came with me to help find my dress and I'm happy to share that I said "Yes to the Dress". The overall experience was seamless from making my appointment on the phone with Virginia to the receiving a follow-up call and email to ensure that everything was ready for me ahead of my appointment from my Bridal Consultant Lou Lou, who is AMAZING! I was welcomed immediately and made to feel appreciated and taken care from the moment I entered the door. I live a few blocks away from the bridal shop and always walk by it on my way to City Centre so when I got engaged this summer, I obviously wanted to ensure that I had an appointment set up here, especially knowing that I always had seen beautiful dresses on display on their window. I also liked what I had seen on their website. I was treated like a princess and felt like one when trying on my dresses. There is a wide assortment of dresses and designers across price ranges as this place was a lot bigger than I thought once inside. From the start I had a Calla Blanche dress in mind and low and behold, the first dress I tried on and chose was a Calla Blanche, although different than the one I had seen online. I maybe tried on 8 dresses or so and Lou Lou helped me narrow down my options via process of elimination. I explained to her the style I was looking for, budget, and she made sure we had a great assortment of dresses to try on and have fun with. By the time it came to choosing my dress, I may have tried it on 3 times and loved it more each time. (Even got a bit emotional so I knew it was the one). Funny enough it wasn't even the style I thought I had in mind, which is why you must try these on! My family and friends were made to feel very comfortable and welcomed also which I appreciated. The space is comfortable and clean inside. There was one other bride also trying on dresses at the same time but she was on the other side of me and did not interfere with my experience so no concerns there. I had a lot of fun. I had a nice dressing room and Lou Lou there to help with each dress and the clips + got to see my dress at all stages of the day with the mirror that changes lighting. It was pretty neat. Lou Lou was the ultimate hype woman and got my family & friends engaged in the process too - she announced me each time, had the music going, it was fun. I had a feeling I would find my dress here and am happy to say that I did. The only thing that stings a bit is that I went wayyyyy over budget with the dress and the "looks". The dress itself was within budget but I was upsold on an additional piece that really did make the dress and look extra "WOW" but I maybe could have done without. I can also blame my family and friends for their reactions, they loved it. So I'm not too upset about it and am excited to walk down the aisle in it and hope my fiancé also goes "WOW" :). I can't wait to try on my dress in a few months. For those brides purchasing kindly note the sale price is final so be 100% sure and alteration price is not included. She recommended it to me when I first got to the store... and I knew it was the one pretty early on. But all of the dresses she tried on were gorgeous! A colleague had…read morerecommended her and since I was clueless about anything-wedding I decided it would be good choice. My dress had arrived late (I ordered from a different place) - 6 weeks before my wedding but Susan was able to fit me in her schedule and get started on alterations right away. My dress was strapless but I felt the need to have my shoulders covered in church and she was able to add sleeves made from tulle that were removable! These straps made my dress feel complete, and I was so happy to have something unique about my dress. My bustle was GORGEOUS she had included I believe 7 bustle buttons - and my very layered Cinderella-like dress stayed up in the bustle the ENTIRE night! (Ever been to a wedding where the bride holds her dress because the bustle fell?) My mother's dress arrived 3 weeks before the wedding (again, from a different shop) and Susan made sure she was able to fit my mom in as well. Turned out that the dress the other shop had ordered was way too small for my mom - and 5 days before the wedding my mom decided to can it. Mom couldn't even sit in the dress!! Luckily - Susan had a dress available in her shop that fit my mother perfectly!! She was able to make some small adjustments that night and 3 days before my wedding my mother FINALLY had a dress! I honestly do not know what we would have done if we hadn't gone to Susan for alterations. She is clearly knowledgeable about gown alterations - and creative! She was able to quickly find a solution to a huge problem for us. I am so grateful for this and I have been back to her shop many times since. I've had 2 other dresses for other weddings altered since and Susan hasn't let me down! She is a perfectionist and I am so grateful for her hard work... more pictures to follow (at some point) I had always dreamed of wearing the white dress Grace Kelly wore in the Alfred Hitchcock movie To Catch a Thief. It was impossible to find and while there were very similar dresses out there they all missed the mark on 1 or 2 key design elements. Susan and I scoured the internet, we watched clips of the film to see how the dress moved. Looked at dozens of pictures to make sure we were getting the subtle details right. Not only did she do her research she found the dress she would use as the foundation and the material to make my dress at TJ Maxx and saved me hundreds of dollars. Susan absolutely nailed it. Thank you so much Susan Perrone for making my wedding dress and for being so wonderful. I want to give her 10 stars but they only allow 5.
