Chi is fairly close to my workplace and I go there for lunch sometimes. I got in the first time because it was fairly cold and there were some people inside apparently enjoying a nice Ph! And it is indeed quite pleasant. Their Bún Hu is not bad either. And when it's warm they have nice noodle salads. My favourite is the pork with lá lt (betel leaves) but they also have satay chicken or tofu or lemongrass pork. They also make a fairly good Bánh Mì - and much cheaper than the place on Charlotte Street (which is a bit of a rip off imho).
You can see the menu on their website but basically nothing is over £6. The menu is not huge but they make everything themselves. Large soups are £6, salads (very decent sized) £5, sandwiches £4.50. Also for people who like it (like my dad) they have Vietnamese iced coffee.
They don't have much room inside, only some space at the counter near the window, so if you were planning on sitting at a table and having a long leisurely lunch, look elsewhere.
It is not the best Vietnamese in town but it is very hard finding a good one in central London anyways. Or am I not looking in the right places? Or am I just too hung up on my aunt's cooking (happa speaking here)? All in all, it's very good value for money, and the people are quite nice, and it's usually fairly quick, which is great for lunch. read more
