I had the bún bò huế, which I knew right away that I wanted as soon as I saw it on the menu, and it tasted amazing! It was spicy, but the spiciness wasn't so overpowering to the point that it would make the broth lose its actual savory taste. There was an abundant amount of tender beef, which was a great thing. There wasn't a lot of noodles, which could be a plus or a minus depending on what one wanted. For me it was a minus because it would make me feel like the dish wasn't worth £15.50, but it could also be a plus because there was a good amount of beef. I didn't personally try the tofu summer roll but my friend seemed to enjoy it in ways that were like, this wasn't bad or good, just standard rolls. Overall very solid place! I think it's suitable for grabbing a quick meal, although the space was small and could be packed, and service could be slow depending on the time. I had not had other Vietnamese food in London yet, but what I had here was definitely good.

We visited Pho & Bun on a Monday afternoon after spending a day exploring the city. The restaurant is conveniently located in London's Chinatown near Piccadilly. It is easily identifiable from the street. The space is small/cozy as mentioned by another yelper. There is limited seating, but we were lucky enough to be in a small group. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and efficient. They work together to ensure patrons have the best experience. The food is delivered to the table quickly and is plated beautifully. We enjoyed: - BÚN CHA HÀ NỘI: Honey Glazed Pork Belly and Pork patties served in homemade fish sauce with salad, fresh herbs, and vermicelli - Bò Tái Lăn: Wok fried garlic beef - Bò Tái: Rare sliced beef short rib - NEM CUA BỂ: Crispy Spring Roll Pork and Crab Compared to American prices, everything was affordable. The portions were quite large. Im happy we dined at Pho&Bun on our last evening in London. I can't wait to visit the area again and see what other delicacies we can try. We hope you give them a chance if you are in the area and wish you enjoy your experience.

Summer rolls (look at all that lettuce!) and the delicious squid!

My first time in the UK and was looking forward to the food! We had tickets to a West End show and wanted a place within walking distance. There are two floors and seating is tight or cozy depending on your eating companions. On the menu is 4 course meal for a set price - 2 starters, 1 main, 1 dessert. There were nice choices so this was my choice. My starters were summer roll and salt & pepper squid. Summer roll was all lettuce and disappointing. The squid was fantastic and saved the overall meal. There were grilled onions with it - just delicious and uniquely made! My main was the Spicy Imperial pho - broth was ok and unfortunately was not spicy. About four slurps in I was wishing I had more squid. The cost of the meal was reasonable but worth it? I'm still on the fence.

Bun Cha Hanoi! So amazing! Best Vietnamese food I've had since visiting Vietnam two years ago!

As a tourist, I'm always weary of eating at places deemed as "tourist traps." But even though Pho & Bun is located in Piccadilly, I can assure you that their cuisine is amazing! In fact, it's the best Vietnamese food I've eaten since visiting Hanoi two years ago! I was super glad that my friends and I decided to share our last dinner in London here! On to the food! But before I talk about the food, I have to say that the decor here is super charming! It has a rustic look that reminded me of lots of restaurants I saw in Hanoi. Ok, on to the food! Once I saw Bun Cha Hanoi on the menu, I knew I had to order it! For some reason I can't seem to find Bun Cha in the US. I had it in Hanoi and it was life changing, lol. It was pretty darn amazing here as well! It was so tasty that it teleported me back to Vietnam, lol! The service was quick and friendly as well. So definitely give this place a shot!

This place was incredible. I was visiting the SOHO area and felt a bit under the weather. Since I was staying at a nearby hotel I googled this spot and decided to come. I arrived before 12pm so surprisingly it wasn't busy. I was greeted and found a seat immediately. They had so many Pho Noodle Soup options. I asked the waiter on his favorite. He suggested the Red Wine Braised Beef Pho. I was so pleased of the appearance and the amount. It was probably one of the best I have ever had. I ate the whole bowl. The service was good the price was right and decor was cute. If your in the area you WILL not be disappointed with the dish.

I enjoyed eating here! The broth in the pho was very rich and felt very hearty while the noodles were likewise pretty soft and thin. The meat was pretty tasty too. For desert I would had the fried bao bun. It tasted good but not something that different than you would find in any bakery. The accompanying custard was good though.

Not sure how long this branch has been open (I don't think it's been a long time?), but it is very clean and tidy in there, very well kept indeed. I had booked a table for 6:30pm for 2 people, and we entered the restaurant right on time. We weren't greeted as we entered, but I made my way to the small bar at the back where I saw a waiter. After telling him I'd booked a table, he told us to sit where we wanted, as there were quite a few spare tables. He then came back a few minutes later with our menus. Although I was chatting happily with my friend, it did take the waiters quite a while to come back to us for us to make our order. I think everyone was distracted by a gentleman doing the Pho & Bun challenge, which consisted of the tallest burger I HAVE ever seen. He had to eat it within 15 minutes, and managed to eat it in just over 5 minutes! Quite a strange thing to watch, especially as he was on his own! Good for him though?! We ordered the Fresh Summer Roll with Ginger Beef as a little starter to share, my friend ordered the 8 Hour Confit Belly Pork Steamed Bao Burger, and I ordered the Red Wine Braised Beef Pho Noodle Soup. This was the first time I would be trying a pho dish, so I was quite excited! As was my friend with her Steamed Bao bun burger. After we had ordered, the food didn't take too long at all. The Summer Rolls were fresh and tasty, and they came with a nice fresh and light sauce too. There could have been a bit more flavour in the rolls, but I think this is what they're meant to be like? Our main courses came before we had finished our rolls, this wasn't a problem though. My friend's burger was a lot smaller than we thought it would be (maybe it was after seeing the size of the man's burger who was doing the challenge!). She did enjoy the burger, but it was over very quickly because it was smaller that expected. The pork was tasty but not incredible. I was very impressed with my Red Wine Braised Beef Pho Noodle Soup. It was so so tasty and came displayed in a lovely dish with a plate/lid on top with more beansprouts, lemon and chilli for me to add to my tasting. I'm not a big fan of spice so ensured I added no more chillis! The broth the beef came in was so so delicious, and the beef in the soup wasn't too fatty either, and there were certainly enough bits of beef - it wasn't disappointing at all. I didn't finish all of the flat noodles as I was too full, but it was really really a lovely dish. I highly recommend it. The prices aren't too extortionate in here either. I was lucky enough to find a 33% off deal, so it didn't come to much, but usually my noodle soup would have been £9.50, which I think is a little pricey, but can understand why as I did get a lot of beef. My friend's burger at £7.50 I think is a bit too expensive, if it was bigger, then I would have understood this price. All in all, I definitely recommend this place, the pho was so delicious, but I'm not sure I'll be rushing back if I don't have any discount offers available! Thanks for reading :)

Loved it. I'm gonna make this one of my stops every time I am in town. Was shocked to learn that this was a two day old establishment. Food was super authentic and fresh; service top notch . So coming back! Ordered the shrimp roll and the beef pho. The roll was fantastic. Most joints get that wrong because the skin gets dry, or the filling is off. This was spot on. The pho broth was rightly seasoned and totally warmed . Nommmm

Crab and pork spring roll £3.25

This place serves mostly the food from the Viet Eat branch in Holborn with one exception. The sandwiches appear to have disappeared and these are now replaced with buns. You are now thinking small hirata buns from Flesh and Buns or Bao? Nope, it looks more like a hirata bun Western style hamburger, complete with a toothpick down the centre of the bun. Warning this is a first day soft launch lunch + review:- The decor is quite homely. I like that they have gotten rid of the canteen style seating and now each table has its own chairs, albeit they still have to put tables in groups of 4 or 6 as there is just not enough space in the restaurant. The service needs a lot of improvement. They do not have enough menus for the tiny tiny restaurant so a lot of people ended up sharing or waiting for a ridiculously long time without a menu. They keep forgetting orders and needing to ask customers what they ordered (the guy next to us got asked twice by two different waiters and he was irritated). Food wise, it felt like a let down due to the small portions of food and the eye-watering price on the menu. When we ordered the crab and pork spring roll, one fat spring roll came in two halves. This costs £3.25 I believe? £3.25 for one spring roll is really pushing it. I mean even the portugese tart ladies in Covent Garden only charged £2 for one portugese tart and that was beyond expensive for a tart. I would pay maximum £1. I double checked with the waiter that this is not some half sized dish for the soft launch but he confirmed it was the full priced dish. The second disappointing thing is that you could not taste any crab either. I ordered the BBQ pork vermicelli and the pork was only luke warm and whilst the portion just about fills you up I left unsatisfied. My colleague's rare beef pho was not very hot either. She thought the noodles were a bit too thick making her think it was Chinese ho fun rather than pho. When we asked for the bill we were presented with a full priced meal. This was beyond shocking was this was a soft launch and they should automatically charge 50% to everyone. The fact that we had to query this for them to change the bill was the nail in the coffin.

Good value for money! Went on a time out voucher and it was solid. Starters were Spring rolls, ribs and fried calami. All decent especially the ribs. Mains: Pho and Buns. The pho was ok, broth was lacking depth but the brisket was very good! The bun dry aged beef was delicious: the bun was fluffy and light just like a Vietnamese bun texture should be and the charred patty was so good! Desserts were only ok they would need a bit more options. Overall its a good quick catch up place.

If you like pho, you are going to love this place! Small cozy restaurant, centrally located in Soho/Chinatown. Having visiting this place a couple of times, I would suggest you to try the amazingly soft-milky bun with sweet potatoes. I haven't tried such a bun anywhere else, and I was truly surprised. Of course, if you go for traditional Vietnamese pho then you will enjoy a great variety here with excellent quality''s herds & ingredients. Totally recommended!

We stopped by to get Vietnamese food for dinner around 5:30 pm. There was a longer wait after we were seated. The seats are very close to each other so you can hear everyone's conversations. The food is not authentic but more fusion Vietnamese food. It was still very tasty and the service was good. We ordered fried crab/pork eggrolls, pork belly bun and pho chin. It is a good lunch or dinner spot but come early. It is also better to come in a smaller group.

The only Vietnamese restaurant on Shaftesbury Avenue with it's modern rustic take on the Asian decor. Small tables and stools and lanterns against exposed brick and graffiti. It looked pretty cool. A relaxing place, dimmed down but with nice floor to ceiling windows bringing in natural light during the day. Tables had the usual sriracha sauce and hoisin sauce but the lack of fish sauce there makes it somewhat lacks authenticity or just serving the Western palate due to it's pungent smell. That may be me being over critical though Staff were friendly and patience and make sure we got everything we want and even arranged it to arrive in the order we wanted to. Vietnamese coffee. Nice and strong with condensed milk at the bottom making it somewhat comforting with its sweet richness and milkiness Bún Bò Hue- Tender beef I actually really enjoyed the broth here. It had quite a nice good heat to it, tangy with a good complexity from the herbs and spice that lingered nicely on the tongue afterwards. A good side of beansprouts and mint too. Shame about the noodles that were either undercooked or just poor in quality. They were brittle and not as al dente as some of the higher quality. Beef were okay, not very flavoursome and rough on the tongue being very lean. At least they were tender as described. Bò St Vang - Red Wine Braised Beef The broth here was so watered down, weak and lacking depth. It was almost like they stewed some lovely beef and just threw it into hot water. Adding the beansprouts actually accelerated this blandness and didn't help. The beef itself was lovely though, rich notes of red wine and I much prefer the softer, bouncier hor fun noodles here. Sadly I had to creative with what I had so I added a lot of sriracha and hoisin sauce into the broth just to make things less boring to eat. 28 days dry aged beef with red onion relish, house pickle and smokey mayonnaise. This burger was almost perfect , taken down a notch from it's low quality patty. Firstly the bun was ultra soft and light, full of bounce and slightly elastic to hold everything together really well. The pickles were in a lovely zesty lemony fish sauce marinate adding a lovely crunch and flavour to take the heaviness of the burger. Mayonnaise helped bind everything together in its lovely smokey creaminess. It was only the patty that could have done with more flavour, herbs and moisture. We asked for it to be medium rare but it came well done which made it more rough in texture and dry. At least it carried enough of its own sweetness to make it worthwhile. 8 hour confit belly pork with secret soy sauce, pickled cucumber and chilli mayonnaise Now this was incredible. The bun was incredibly pillow soft and spongy. Filled inside was a fat slab of pork belly that was packed full of flavour from the sweet soy marinade, beautifully tender and soft so you had little problem biting it apart with the burger. Nice contrast of pickled cucumber to add a good tanginess to it and chilli mayonnaise to add a mild kick to it and some moisture. Sweet potato fries with spicy mayonnaise Couldn't fault these lovely perfectly crisp fries. Nice and sweet and still fluffy and soft in the inside. The chilli mayonnaise wasn't really needed as they had enough flavour but once you start dipping you really can't stop as it gets kind of moreish. Pho & Bun was pretty average. Their noodle soups lack that long winded simmering process of the meat or bones in the broth to give it depth and a richer taste. Their noodle soup portion sizes weren't really generous and neither was their side of vegetables and herbs. I would try changing the noodles to the ho fun variety with their pho and bun bo hue options too. However the best thing about this place is definitely their rice bun burgers I chose these over brioche buns any day. Their beef patty wasn't great but everything else in there like the slaw made it amazing. Add with it some sweet potatoes fries and you will be in for a fine meal.
