I ate at this restaurant in 2025 and it was wonderful! I just had dinner, or tried to have dinner in 2026 and had to return the first entree and couldn't even begin to eat the second period my sister-in-law said the Mongolian beef tasted like dog food. I had ordered lamb chops the first time. I have never tasted anything so awful in my life. It's like they boiled them first and then put some kind of ridiculous dry breading on them. Ordered takeout (staying at a local hotel) and when the food was delivered, there were no napkins or plastic utensils, they forgot the bottle of Avian water, and the portions for the four meals were VERY small. Ambience was okay, but we did not like the food. We ordered shredded beef with green peppers but there was no green peppers on our order. The portion was very small. Even the typical Yangzhou fried rice was disappointing, small portion (even we ordered "big portion"), and very little ham meat in there. I was not looking for authentic Chinese food, but I wanted to my food to be done right as they advertised on the pictures. That didn't happen. If you are Chinese, I don't recommend as the food is not authentic to me. If you are non-Chinese and wanted to try Chinese food, unfortunately there aren't many options in Chamonix. But I don't recommend as the portion is very small compared to other typical Chinese restaurants. Service was okay. read more

Delicious! Our group of 3 was hungry after completing the TMB. Two of us had a drink. We ordered 2 dishes each and shared family style. The service was excellent. While searching for Vegetarian Food high up in Mont Blanc - landed here. Owner said she has some vegetarian options. Ordered appetizers and soups and several main courses. The Veggie clear soup came in very small portion. Ordered stirr fried noodles, vegetarian fried rice, Singapore noodles, mixed vegetables in garlic spice and spring rolls and veg dumplings. First of all appetizers were good and hot and sour soup was just perfect and spicy. But once it came to main course the food was tasteless and bland. Portions of every item were tiny. ZERO stars if possible. I asked if there was meat in the mapo tofu and she said yes but they could take it out. I told her I wanted the meat, was just making sure, but they served the vegetarian version. On top of that, it tasted NOTHING like what mapo tofu is tastes like. It was literally tofu in a weird thick orange sauce. Bland, no spice, no flavor. No wonder it only took them barely five minutes to serve it after I ordered. They refused to change the order and add meat or even take it off the bill even though I barely took a bite. Now I've had to pay for this catastrophe and have to find somewhere else to actually eat. DON'T GO HERE. So many better options, like chewing tacks. read more

Great Asian food in the middle of Chamonix, who would have thought that? Craving for Asian style dinner, second this place last night. Is directly in the centre so you wouldn't necessary expect more than a tourist trap but it was actually very delicious. Great service, stylish interior, menu not too short or too long. We had all different dishes, starters included steamed dumplings, fried dumplings and fried spare rips. Mains were sweet & sour chicken, chicken satay and roasted duck - all of them amazing, freshly prepared and really good seasoned. Giving 4 starts as it was quite expensive compared to other places we have been to this week...40€ each including tip for starter, main and 1 drink. read more

What a great night at Chez Yang. Four of us had had enough of French food for a while. We ordered steamed dumplings; but had to order two times because the portions (4 pieces) were small. Same with the duck, Mongolian beef and chicken with chili...double orders. Expensive for sure, but extremely tasty. Family run operation. Very friendly. McDonald's - the place you go after leaving Chez Yang still hungry. Seriously, how much would it add to a restaurant's bottom line to beef up the portions a bit and give you a satisfying meal? Tonight for 15 euros we had a snack pack of bland sweet and sour chicken with10E for a few vegetables, plus more for rice. The prices wouldn't be much to complain about in this overpriced town if they actually gave you a meal. On the plus side, the riverside terrace is nice, service was right quick and the staff was friendly. read more

A disappointing experience overall. Service was slow and i was slightly annoyed that the table that arrived after me got served first. I had a long wait for my duck (being served the pancakes and skin first) and the rice wine was expensive. Also didn't appreciate being told what portion of rice I would have because you ordered 3 main courses So we both left hungry. Wont be going back. read more

Friendly staff, perfectly respectable Chinese food given you're in a small mountain village in Europe. Decor is dated but thats obvious from a glance around and doesn't detract from the overall experience. Recommended. We go there practically weekly. read more
