Hidden Gem ! After traveling around Italy and France for a couple weeks we were lucky to stumble along this amazing restaurant along the waters edge in chamonix. Our server was Sonia and she was so sweet and personable. We started with a cauliflower soup and snacks of thick cut fries with blue cheese & garlic sauce to dip fries , bread and fingers in . The stake and lamb shank were delicious . The barbecued apricots for dessert were amazing as well as the chocolate mousse. I don't think the crips in the mousse was necessary as it took away from the smoothie cream texture ( my opinion) Wine list was great and overall ambiance was cozy and inviting. read more

Lovely little restaurant overlooking the river with superb inventive food and excellent service. It is a great break from the typical food in the region. We had swordfish, the lamb shank, the pork belly, and the chicken curry. The rhubarb crumble was a fan favorite. The smoke prawn appetizer was spectacular, as was the duck sashimi. Chamonix is a wonderful ski resort in the summer. We really enjoyed our meals here. Right on the roaring river below us. I had the Ribeye Steak that came with a salad and a very good oil and vinegar dressing. I also ordered the Swiss chard on the side. Didn't really care for that. Kinda tough. And my wife had the Smoked Prawns and Chicken Curry , which was excellent. The smoked prawns need to be perked though. But, worth the effort. You also can add different sauces to your steak for an additional fee. I'm a purist, so I didn't. The steak was tender and cooked medium rare. However, it was a little salty. The ambiance is cozy, which we loved. The owner, who works the tables, is friendly and on top of the service. read more

Great ingredients, fantastic location on the river, and incredible tastes and flavors, this is the best restaurant we've been to in Chamonix. Very tender and flavorful ribeye steak and lamb. Stopped by our 2nd night in Chamonix at 7pm but the place was full with reservation so we made a reservation for the following night. We're not disappointed. Hubby ordered the black angus ribeye rare and I had the swordfish. We shared a grilled octopus tentacles for starter. The octopus was super tender with dressing of capers and tiny bell peppers and sprinkled with bits of charred meat almost like bacon. The ribeye was tender, moist and delicious and came with a choice of sauces and he picked the blue cheese. Excellent choice! The sword fish was firm and lightly grilled, and paired with a tomato salsa which that was garlicky with a slight heat. I finished it. Although both came with a side salad, we still ordered a side salad of beets with Gorgonzola cheese. It was warm and very delicious. For dessert, we shared a chocolate mouse with raspberry and chocolate biscuit. All in all the food was delicious. The service was excellent. Highly recommend the place but probably should make a reservation unless you don't mind eating after 8. read more

Went to this restaurant after finishing the Tour du Mont Blanc and absolutely loved it! Our table sat against the large windows and had a lovely view of the river. My fish tasted so fresh and was seasoned just the right amount, and my friend loved the vegetarian curry. How can I give 10 stars instead of 5? I can't believe we were so lucky to find this place. Important: IT'S NOT JUST FOR VEGETARIANS! The food should be Michelin 5 stars. The combination of flavors, textures, and presentation is top. The music is funky and watching the cook staff (amazingly just two guys!) practice their craft is true gastronomic theater. Bizes is a great restaurant that provides an excellent quality of food and great service. It is a nice break from the rest of the same cafes, pizzerias, and french restaurants that serve mediocre food and Rob the wallets Chamonix tourists. The chef was very hospitable and provided some good laughs throughout dinner. The waitress spoke French and English and accommodated us efficiently. We highly recommend making reservations as the restaurant only serves a limited amount of tables per night. They do that to ensure proper customer service and fresh food for all of their customers. They source everything on a daily basis so that their food is tasting as fresh as possible. My wife and I shared the prawns for the appetizer. The smoky taste mixed with the aoli made the prawns an excellent selection. The table next to us ordered the scallops and by the looks of it, I almost ordered another appetizer of scallops as well. For our mains, I had the Iberico Pork and my wife had the portabello mushroom w/artichoke. Both were excellent selections and we're very fresh. My pork was cooked medium and was delicious. We highly recommend this place and would be back if we weren't leaving tomorrow! read more

My favorite place I went to in Chamonix. Is it totally fancy? No. Does it have the best food in town? Yes. We tried a number of bars, delis, and very classy restaurants while we were in Chamonix. Bizes took the cake...in fact, we cancelled our reservation elsewhere a few nights into our trip and returned to Bizes. For vegetarians, the smoked mozzarella is to die for, the portobello is divine, the coconut curry is also a delicious choice. Further, go in on the (VERY reasonably priced) sides, like the green beans and feta. Here's a picture of my second night there, when we I got the grilled haloumi and some vegetables. Went to this restaurant twice while hiking the Tour du Mont Blanc as we started and ended in Chamonix. The first night we sat outside on th L'Arve River. I had the appetizer Shrimp/Prawns with charcoal aioli as my entree with a couple sides and was satisfied with the large portion of Prawns. The Aioli was fantastic. The second night I had the soup and some sides. I was with a group of 7 and everyone was very happy with the food- enough so we returned the next week! read more

The location and view are unbeatable, in central Chamonix just next to the rushing river. My partner and I stopped here after a very long day and we were both starving. I had the veg curry (they confirmed that it was vegan, all homemade and no fish sauce or anything sketchy like that). At one point I was quite concerned because I kept finding loads of what seemed like short blond hairs in my food but they were just ginger fibers. The bread was delicious. Unfortunately we found our meals tasted a bit 'meh'; as my partner (who had a meat dish) put it, there was no love in it, and that sounded about right to me. Not tasty. But by no means was it bad; just could be better. The service was great and attentive, no complaints there. I would give this place another try, if I lived there. read more

The restaurant has a contemporary vibe and has a wide selection of healthy options (vegetarian and not) which was a nice departure from fondue and raclette. Out table overlooked the river. Lovely spot with terrific staff. Chef (polish) and bartender both A+. I had pulled pork, really good especially the crispy pork fat skin it is served with. Bar is a bit cluttered but terrific for a quick stop for dinner solo. read more

Nothing really special about this place. Angus Entrecote was good, smoked mozzarella was interesting, grilled foua gras was nothing special, endive salad was a bit of a surprise.. Besides the french fries, potato-based sides were nothing to remember..
