The plain croissants were perfectly fluffy and flaky. The almond square was pure heaven with a deep almond flavored frangipane surrounded by crunchy layers. The bakery itself is really cute. I wasn't sure what to expect, so I split a jumbo-sized hot dog with my brother. Christian stacked on the toppings (relish, onions, sauerkraut, mustard) as I had requested, and split our hot dog in half for sharing ease, for just $3. I was with two adventurous friends who were willing to try the other types of sausages. The kielbasa is sliced in thick slabs on the spot and placed onto a side skillet to sizzle with roasted red peppers and spices. Once it's piping hot, it gets nestled between a bun and can go naked or loaded with standard fare condiments. The traditional sausage was also very good, but the kielbasa--and it's presentation--are my pick. We started attracting people to come over and try the dogs. Great successes. My brother ended up getting another whole one just to himself. I'm not sure if the cart is always there, but I've seen it during the week and weekends in the early afternoon (think when kids get out of school--like 3pm).

The quesadilla was pretty greasy, but in a nice way. All three items were pretty protein heavy. The man working at the stand was very friendly and spoke English and Spanish. He got the food ready in under 10 minutes and packed it up well for takeout. There isn't a place to eat on sight, but everything was still delicious when we got home.

The staff are friendly and will even allow you to take bites out of fresh ears of corn to prove theirs is the sweetest, locally sourced, large kernel stuff around. It was pretty damn good and hooked me enough to buy a few more. There's also other great stuff like fruit and tomatoes waiting at the stand. They're usually there all day plying their wares. Only quibble is that at 70 cents a piece, the corn seems a bit expensive, but it still makes for a good treat.
