We were in town for one night on our way to the UK. It's less than an hour away from the Eurotunnel Calais.
Just a short walk from our BnB was this restaurant. We made a reservation a few days before. It was a sunday and the place well visited. Our Bulldog was welcome as well.
Its a cosy restaurant with very friendly owners and staff. The menu isn't too big, but still has something for everybody. Some french classics of course as well.
At first we got some wonderful complimentary pork Rillette. We loved it. For starters we chose the bone marrow and the "Terrine Maison". Both excellent choices. The bone marrow had a good size and the terrine really was tasty and homemade.
For the mains we went for the Cote de Boeuf (beef steak) and the filet de poulet gratinee (chicken breast, rolled, topped with cheese and then baked). Both came with some salad and fries. And again both wonderful, housemade dishes. Beef was nice and tender, the chicken as well and both sauces rich in flavour. A bottle of red wine went well with both dishes.
Service is great, prices are really more than fair. It's a really nice place to get a good, honest meal. Really enjoyed it. read more
