During my first trip to Europe and France, I made a pledge to get immersed into their food culture. L'Atelier did not disappoint. I had my first ever Gizzard Salad, as a starter, which was delicious. That was followed up by Calf Head. It was okay, but it could have been my mental state that hindered the taste. All this was followed by the best Crème Brûlée I've ever eaten. Truly smooth and yet tasty in the crunchy. The latest reviews of 6-9 years ago meant the establishment has stayed true to its past culinary variety and awesome taste. read more

We stopped here because of another Yelp review which mentioned the creme brulle, which my husband adores. It did not disappoint. Hubby said it was the beat he ever had. We got the chef's prix fix of the day. My husband choose fish and my daughter and I got the beef. Let me tell you, it was the tastiest, rarest piece of meat I've ever had. Seriously - yum! Each table got a huge plate of fries. I hated leaving good food behind (traveling-no refrigerator) but will remember this local place with great fondness. We were the only English speakers there and I don't want to ruin it for the locals, but this place deserves recognition. read more

We stopped here during a brief visit to Amiens. It ended up being an excellent "locals" restaurant with fabulously friendly owners making great food from scratch. To see this place classified as "Fast Food" here on Yelp makes me sad, because this isn't Quick Burger. AT ALL. My father had the steak au poivre and I had the veal stew. Both were excellent, and the portions were huge. The value for the money is excellent. What really earned this 5-star review, though, was the creme brulee, which stands out as the greatest single example of the dish I've ever had in my life, ever, bar none. Period. It was the best. I still dream about it, and part of the reason for my review here is so I can adequately bookmark this restaurant, so the next time I'm in Northern France I will happily drive an hour or so out of my way to eat here. We stopped here because of some of the great reviews on Yelp but we can't agree with the high praise (for the food) found in some of the reviews. Indeed, the waiter (owner?) who greeted us was quite friendly. We ordered the entrecôte and veal sweetbread, with French fries on the side. While the veal sweetbread was very well prepared, the entrecôte wasn't quite as tasty as I expected and the fries were a bit too greasy. But the aspect that causes me to give only three stars was the relation between price and quality. The prices were way too high! We paid €74 for lunch: two glasses of beer and two main dishes with one espresso afterwards. Later during our travels in Normandy we were able to compare prices by dining in similar restaurants. read more
