Stayed four nights and wish it had been longer. The hotel is a (16th?) century farmhouse, with much of the original structure in place. Despite this, the guest rooms have most of the features you'd expect in a modern hotel, but so much more character.
The restaurant is quite good. The staff is friendly, and even if something isn't on the menu or you have a very specific taste, or you wake up three hours late for breakfast, they'll take care of you.
There was no meal that wasn't memorable, no croissant that didn't exceed anything you'd find in the US.
But there's one thing that would get me to cross the Atlantic for: their mousse. It looks good, four small helpings of chocolate, and one of vanilla. But then you take a spoonful of it and you realize it is ... I can only say it's just incredibly dense. The flavor is spectacular. It looks like a normal one-person dessert, but it could easily satisfy three. That said, once I had the first spoonful, there was no way in hell I was going to share it.
I am not a gourmet but times like this make me wish I had the vocabulary to describe the incredible richness and flavor that stimulated every taste receptor. I can honestly say that I was near tears when I was finishing it, because I knew that no other mousse-like dessert would ever come close to what I had just experienced. It was sublime.
The business seems mostly to cater to customers from around the region, but they always had someone who spoke enough English to help me, and never made me feel out of place. How often does half the hotel staff hug you when you check out?
