Francis est très sympathique. La seule ''baraque à frites'' de Schaerbeek, c'est très précieux et c'est bon !

But they do their best to seat as many people as possible. I got in fairly quickly because i was alone. The food was fantastic. I had the Carbonade a la Biere, and it was so great! Like a beef stew and very tasty. Also had some good Belgian beer. Service was attentive and very fast. The restaurant is lively and exciting - not really a quiet romantic dinner. But a lot of fun!

While the register states No Cards one of the servers told the table next to mine not worry when they didn't have enough euros. Only a drink menu was provided and the dishes being served that day were handwritten on moveable boards or posted on the wall. I had on my list a couple to try but finally went with the Belgian carbonades à la biere which was beef stew with mashed potatoes in a dark gravy made with beer. The plate was quite generous and much appreciated since I devoured it. I enjoyed the creaminess of the potatoes swirled with gravy but the meat could've been a tad bit more tender. Service was good. I think everyone on the floor stopped by my table for one reason or the other. Ambiance was casual and looked like many people were taking their time over their meals. When finished you need head to the register to settle the tab. I paid in cash. Worth a return visit.

They had a kid's menu which featured one of my son's favorites, spaghetti Bolognese and of the 4 versions of this dish he ate over the course of this trip he and I both agreed this was the best. What can I say? My kid is a creature of habit. They also had apple juice and this made him happy as well. I seriously thought about getting a croque monsieur as I absolutely love them, but it was our last day in Belgium and I had yet to experience the famous Flemish beef stew so that is what I ordered. It was a large serving of beef in a delicious beer based au jus served with a side of fries. I really enjoyed it. Some pieces of beef were more tender than others, but isn't that how it always goes with a stew? My husband had their house mussels and he said the sauce was so good. Again, the portion was large and he really enjoyed his mussels in Brussels. Overall, it was a solid pick that satisfied our need to try signature Belgian dishes and our son's desire to stick with food he is familiar with. Prices were reasonable enough and portions were large. Every left happy and full.

Since I was in Belgium (which is the country that invented french fries if you weren't aware), I…read moreknew that I needed to check out some good friteries around the city. There were some recommendations online for Fritteria Tabora, and since it wasn't too far from us we decided to check it out. It's a small shop that is to-go, and there was a long line that we waited out of for around half an hour. When you order, they'll essentially scoop the fries out of the oil and put it onto a plate for you. Afterwards, you can order different sauces to try it with. They recommended the Andalouse sauce, so we decided to get that one. I have to say that this was probably the best fries that I had during my trip in Belgium (esp after trying it at like 8 different places), so I think that it was worth the wait. These were the most crispy and had the most satisfying crunch overall so far. Even though the line might be long, if you want to try out what Belgium is known for then I think it's worth the wait.

Sweet curry, buffalo, barbecue... not ketchup and mayo. The line was long -- like the whole city had the same craving at the same time. Total Spider-Man meme moment... everybody pointing like, "Oh, you're me? You're me?" The fries were fresh -- not sitting there waiting on somebody. They cook them to order. You literally see the raw fries, then the cooked fries, and it's like an assembly line. One guy takes your sauce order, the other guy repeats it back like telephone, and you watch it get passed down and checked. You get hype listing sauces and then they hit you with, "Only three" before you get too crazy. Service is quick and friendly. They don't ask a million questions because it's simple -- we sell fries and sauces. What do you want? Ambience: tiny walk-up, as small as a food spot can get, but it works. No yelling, no "my order is wrong," none of that. There are tables out front so you can sit, eat, and people-watch on a nice night (or day). Amazing experience. Would absolutely recommend.

The place is a family run restaurant, and we had amazing service and food. The pasta was fresh and the variety a plus - but the best pasta on the menu by far is the truffle mushroom pasta. When we got to the restaurant, we were seated outside promptly. Our waiter was really nice and explained the menu to us. I don't usually like salads, but I felt like I needed some greens after eating heavy Belgian food. We decided to go with the mixed salad with ham, and I'm so glad we did! This salad deserves 5 stars honestly. The dressing was amazing, and the ham added a nice salty touch. For pastas, we got the spaghetti with spicy Calabrian sausage and burrata and the ravioli with osso buco. The pastas were definitely cooked al dente - I preferred the spaghetti. The ravioli had good flavor, but it was sitting in so much oil that I couldn't eat too many. It was a solid meal overall, but I didn't think the pastas were anything life-changing. Great place if you're craving some Italian food though!
