Since their foray into Canada they have carried this similar business model that I once remembered 20 years ago when visiting the gargantuan stores in SF, NYC and Chicago. The store here at Carrefour Laval is well laid out nicely decorated and offers lots of items. However I'm a bit surprised how much their items appear to cost in Canada. Sure I know this place is not Ikea particle board furniture AKA kill your fingers putting together with a mini hex wrench. However Cadillac Fairview (Carrefour Laval) must be charging a stranglehold rent for them to have to charge what they do for items at a mall location. Selection is very good and they have high quality items. Really you can decorate the house to make your place look snazzy! A great place for office worker gifts or for the wifey or GF to get you out of the doghouse. If you are patient check out some of their name brand items and order online. You will definitely find cheaper.

They make the clients wait while the cashier retags the clothes with anti-theft devices. Then, the cashier gives it to another employee to hang back up on the racks. I received the tiles at the beginning of the renovations and due to an unforeseen situation extending beyond the contract's mandate, I had to find another contractor to complete the additional work and the remaining work. The new contractor recommended to change the marble tiles to porcelain, which I did. The marble ones were falling apart just by holding them in our hands. I contacted Deco Surfaces asking them if they can refund me on the balance of the tiles I had and the seller found all sorts of excuses to not take them back, including they would be on Christmas vacation in a few days anyway. He also mentioned that the return timeline was 20 days, which I was within. However, his purchase date was when he received the order from the contractor vs when I received it from the store. So effectively, there's no way to return anything you order if you don't pick them up immediately upon ordering them. Especially if they, in turn, need to order them from their own supplier. I do not recommend this store to anyone looking for a reasonable after sales service.

The selection of clothing is unique, prices after conversion to American dollar is great . When here I always like to check out their items for the home too. Last time I was here I bought a door mat with three cats on it. Now this has become a favorite with my cats. This time i found a table runner for my mom, which I'm sure she is going to love since it has all these fancy chickens on it! By the way the prices on these items were great even before the conversion! The store is very spacious, the use of the space is great. I like how when you are on the second floor one can look down and see almost the entire store. Great if you need to spot your shopping companion. They also have wifi, which is a great added bonus when traveling.

You order an item which can be in or out of stock, be promised a date and it is NEVER respected. Want something? Sure. The 26th? No problem. You'll call when you'll get it? OK. No calls. I went to the big box Rona on Cote Vertu, where they did not have it in stock. After a long wait at customer service, I was directed to the store at Carrefour Laval, where they were showing 3 in stock. I drove to the Rona at Carrefour Laval. They had only 2 corded Black and Decker mowers, one for $279 and another at $189. After another very long wait (why not hire extra staff on the weekends?), a floor person assured me that they did not have any Band D mowers for !59, and never did, and basically told me too bad that the other Rona told me that this store was showing 3 in stock. I had to insist some more, and after loud sighs and shrugging, the sales associate begrudgingly agreed to look in up on the computer. Sure enough, he found it... the $159 mower had a $189 price tag in this store (although they did sell it to me for $159). This type of customer service is why I usually shop in the U.S., either in person or online.

It was my first time here this weekend after bookmarking it last year when I read Bobby's review…read more It's not easy to get here without a car and you're going to want one anyway - or a bike with trailer - because the selection is vast and all the plants are super healthy and you'll just want to bring them all home. I didn't spend much time with the rocks and sod, although my friend got a couple big flagstones for her patio and she was super happy with the price, quality, etc. I did spend a ton of time in the greenhouse full of vegetable seedlings and got everything to plant my garden this year. I wasn't planning to, but they had everything I could have hoped for and the prices were right so tadah. The seedlings are super affordable, there are tons of varieties and everything is clearly documented so you can figure out what plants will go well together and how to care for them. There is staff everywhere and they are busy but super helpful and friendly. Even packed on the weekend lines moved super quickly, I was super impressed. When we arrived the crowds made me nervous feeling like we'd be tangled up forever but the staff's efficiency and calm kept everything moving smooth and chill. I loved my experience here, and my lovely plants are all in the garden now and looking so happy, I'll be back next year for my veggies for sure, and maybe sooner if I get my act together for a balcony garden!
