Initially excited to try this restaurant, we were very disappointed with the end result. Yes, the chef is Tibetan and cooks a mix of Tibetan and Chinese dishes. You do have that sense of authenticity, which is a plus, and feel things are made fresh. But no, the quality of the end product is nowhere near what it could be, or as good as what other Tibetan restaurants can offer.
Maybe we were simply unlucky, having tried it on a Friday night when they do the buffet. Somehow It simply failed to come together as it should. A buffet (Friday and Saturday) is a good idea, if you can keep the food warm (lukewarm here at best...), if you can make sure dishes are replenished quickly (not quite the case...), and if you can offer a good mix of food (just about...).
All in all rather disappointing and I'd recommend not going for the buffet. Somewhat overpriced considering what is on offer.
Service is very friendly, but that only just makes up for it being excessively slow. I know the owner operates alone, but in all fairness this is a very small place (6 to 7 tables) and it was a buffet, so it should not be that slow. I would have wanted more/better service for that price. read more
