I want to start by saying…read moreI am a licensed MASTER esthetician myself that graduated from Clover Park Tech in 2021 who then went and got further education for to be a Laser Technician I went to get my Brazilian waxed for the first time in my life and I left feeling mortified, shamed, and was treated in a manner I would never treat a client. Betty scolded me and made remarks about my body and stretch marks while I was in my most vulnerable state. She had a Trainee wax me post putting me on the spot and while being waxed, some of the wax had accidentally gotten flicked onto Betty's scrubs. She then used the trainee's hand that had just been waxing me to remove the wax from her scrub to then put the same hand back onto my private area being completely unsanitary. As a licensed esthetician I knew it was unhygienic and as a woman I was in a vulnerable position and mortified. Her after care kit consisted of bath and body works 'warm vanilla sugar' hand sanitizer that she instructed me to use to sanitize my private area. This product should NEVER be used NEAR or ON your private area and especially not on open follicles that can lead to bacteria, infection, and irritation. She also said to use Curel lotion to soothe the area after using hand sanitizer. This kit was a joke and so was her business. I paid full price for an UNLICENSED trainee to wax me while being simultaneously humiliated by this businesses owner.

So my man stepped inside the salon to see to check out waiting times while I stayed in the car. Shortly after, he comes back looking like he'd just experienced the most bizarre thing in his life. "She screamed at me," he said. "Wait what??" I asked bewildered. He went on to tell me that he waited there respectfully since the lady was doing someone's hair. When the lady turned and saw him waiting, she screamed. I did clarify that she didn't just squeal or gasp, but screamed. He said after she screamed, she told him he 'surprised her' and 'didn't see him there'. I asked if she apologized for screaming at him, since he's just a harmless average build Scottish guy with short hair and glasses. He said she never did. A convenient resolution is to add a bell to the front door. Not sure how bad this neighborhood is, but it'd be worth considering if you were genuinely worried for safety, or tend to scream when you have guests walking into the salon. She got it exactly how I wanted in one session. Sam actually WORKS with her clients- she always leaves the decisions (color, highlight amount, toning level, haircut style, etc.) up to her clients. When I say that, I mean that she makes sure you're involved in every part of the hair transformation. Even if she suggests something else, she will always let you pick, no matter the color. The place was quite occupied with all the staffs attending to customers so they told me it would be about a 10-15 minute wait, which I used to look over all of the color varieties that was offered (so many!) and was offered some beverages. The wait didn't take long as expected, and honestly I was so astonished with how quickly everything was because my nails were done within the hour?! Grateful for the sisters that helped me out and gave me a wonderful service. This is a bit of a far drive for me ): but honestly with how quick and lovely the staffs were I'll be making the drive back to get my nails done here again. Look at how cute they came out, I love it!! The environment is pretty laid back with classical music playing in the background. Also, they offer a head spa service? I recently went to a private nail tech who attempted to soak of the acrylics that I got from this salon and instead of crumbling off correctly the acrylic got very gummy leading to having to be drilled off and affected the health of my nails (not the fault of the nail tech who did my current set). That said, the customer service itself was wonderful, and with higher quality products this salon could be amazing. This issue could have been completed avoided with the use of quality products and I mean no hate to the salon I just want people to protect their nails as it can be very painful when they aren't properly taken care of.
