Grilled chix sandwich
Teuila G.

I was nearby and stopped in for lunch the other day. I was craving a grilled chicken sandwich, so I ordered one to go with fries. The bartender working on Thursday was amazing, I did not catch her name. I killed time at the bar and tested my luck on keno. This sandwich was served on French bread with lettuce, tomatoes, and mayo. Next time, I'll order it on the side. The fries were amazing and served hot. I had a handful and threw the rest out. I didn't want to eat them all; I easily could have. It's a bar with a grill, some slots, and a few games to play for non gamblers. Although my sandwich had too much mayo, it hit the spot. I've always had great service and enjoyed the grill here.

Okay-so this is a dive bar, but it's a clean dive bar with the best wings in Northwest Reno! It's located in an inconspicuous strip mall with various restaurants and stores. It's a full bar with a small selection of draft beers-but I come here for the wings! You can choose the spice level and they taste freshly made-not frozen. They don't have a ton of breading on them-which I hate! Perfect amount of crispy and mix of drums and flats. They were playing 80's hard rock-my favorite and I had to control myself not to stand up and start rocking out!

Hot wings

During Covid I've been very hesitant to go out and eat/ get drinks, but I decided to get some hot wings. As always, these wings are very good and have a good flavor! The takeout always has delicious ranch and some veggies. The only thing I would change would be to add some more sauce and make the wings less dry. Overall, I would recommend enjoying some good wings here! The Covid guidelines were being followed which was reassuring.

The place was pretty busy, as expected on Valentine's. Our server was quick to get our drink order and tell us about the menu. The place is small, but well designed, and the use of space is thoughtful. My wife ordered an Italian soda, boy, was it good! Super fresh ingredients. I'm not positive, but while watching our server make it at the bar, it looked like house-made syrup and whipped cream, too. We decided on the Meatball Roman Sandwich ($18) and the Salad/Sandwich ($20) combo for lunch. I ordered the MadeIn salad and the Pablo's feast sandwich, which was an extra $5 when added to the 2 for $20 deal. Food came fairly quickly, and the presentation of the meatball sandwich was amazing! The meatballs were great, and the house made foccacia is hard to beat. Fresh pesto is always a nice touch. The dish was not too heavy at all, as some meatball subs are. The MadeIn salad is similar to a Caesar, but with some added greens like arugula and endive, and sesame breadcrumbs, rather than croutons. I actually preferred it over a classic Caesar. The dressing was incredible. So fresh and so much anchovy flavor. The Pablo's Feast sandwich was incredible, too. Great ratio of filling to bread, and the tomato jam is so good, I would buy it by the jar. The bitterness of broccoli rabe was a great complement to the entire meal. It's clear that flavors here at MadeIn are developed over time with careful thought and planning. Everything is fresh and delicious. The open kitchen concept allows customers to feel like they are a part of the experience and creates a unique dining environment. I can't wait to come back here for dinner sometime soon.

I wanted a burger but the only meat burger option came with mushroom Brie, and I'm a mushroom hater so I was disappointed because I really wanted a burger. But the waiter was able to order me a veggie burger with a meat patty (I liked the toppings offered). It was delicious! I also ordered salt and vinegar tots with it and those were good too. I've never seen salt and vinegar offered before on fries/tots. Everyone else's dinner at my table looked so good. We had someone with the salmon, someone with salad and steak, someone with meatballs, someone with a Cuban. They all looked so good and made me want to try them all. I did feel my burger was a bit small but the ingredients were fresh and I really liked the flavors. I also wish it came with my arugula, I only got one tiny piece!

The Cubano - Good, but I expected more of a pressed sandwich. We each got the tot upgrade for $3 more. Truffle and Salt & Vinegar. The truffle was a little too salty for me and I like salt. But the Salt & Vinegar truffle was the better of two options. And to wash it all down, a bottle of Frank Family Cabernet Sauvignon. Ambiance - Personally, I loved their ambiance. I loved the wine libraries; see pictures. I love the "nooks" and all the separate spaces. We also enjoyed sitting at the bar. I appreciated the choices. Great selection of wines at reasonable prices. Plenty of private parking. The wine store is open 6 days a week from 11am to 9pm; the kitchen is open 4pm to 8:45pm. Service - SeraFina was good; not sure if that was her name, but it was the name on our check. Took care of us, gave us space, and filled our waters. Price - $104 + generous tip. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success here since 2015 and at your Foothill location since 2010. We are loyal customers to both locations

The seafood was so fresh, the only things I would pick on is 1. The dressing on the roasted carrots wasn't something I enjoyed. 2. The mussels tasted of sand! She was super friendly and helpful throughout the meal. We started with the Housemade Ricotta and toast and my. God. It was so delicious. Super light, the bread was perfectly toasted and the truffle honey is so yum. It's a great app. I'd like to try the roasted beets next time! For dinner, we had the Babette Steak w/ Crispy Schmaltz Potatoes and the Lamb Burger w/ Crispy Schmaltz Potatoes. FYI, the potatoes are always a good choice. My steak was delicious and cooked to my liking. I even ate the entire side salad! It paired well with the meal. My roomate also enjoyed the burger. She also had a lavender cocktail that was visually gorg and tasty. Now: dessert! Claio's soft serve is always fun, and they had a pistachio baklava version. The cold, creamy soft serve was paired with pistachio cream and buttered kataifi. Really yum, especially if you like pistachio. We also tried to sokolatopita chocolate cake. I was a little apprehensive because it is chocolate + orange, but I didn't taste the orange blossom and it was really delish. The cake is nice and chocolatey with fudgy chocolate ganache and the tahini mousse! I love tahini and the mousse was a little earthy but nice and light. Overall, a really lovely dinner at Claio! The Onion Rings were tempura style fresh made in house...no frozen bag crap here. For my husband they were a hair on the doughy side but they weren't greasy at all which a totally appreciate. The Garlic bread was tasty having a hard Toasted cheese top with the gooey cheese underneath and the flavor was spot on.
