We went here for an early dinner on our 48 marriage anniversary (yeah, I know; we can't believe it either). We were told to seat. Ourselves, and as it was a great day, we sat outside, which is undercover. I saw they had Guinness, but as it turned out only in cans, so I settled for water. The first time we try a new place that has whole belly clams, I tend to get them, but in this case I was determined to try something different.so i ordered the veggie kebabs and add shrimp to the order for some protein. It was excellent with a subtle Smokey taste Beth's peppers, onions, mushrooms and zucchini cooked just right: not too soft or too crisp. I had excellent mashed potato with real flavor as one side, and the best onion rings I have had in a long time for the second side. My wife had the bomb.com steak sandwich and the sample I tasted proved it to be good also. The chopped steak wasn't chewy as it often seems to be in sandwiches. She had a side of mac and cheese which was a rather unique curly pasta rather than just a small macaroni. It also came with a small serving of cole slaw. I wanted to have the basic sundae for dessert, my wife disapproved I of their using mere Hershey chocolate syrup and vowed she would make us better sundaes here at home. So we had fried ice cream instead. We shared one and it was fine, but not destined to be a favorite of mine. Still. I know we will go back to Chew 62 at some point. It was that good. read more

This was another pleasant surprise on a rambling motorcycle ride. We tried to go to the Mill Cafe, but it closes at 2pm on Saturdays. We saw that Chew 62 was .1 miles away so headed over there. When walking in, there was no one there and I questioned if it was actually open but thankfully it was! The ambiance is a bit odd, but I bet it's better when the place is busier. We each got a hamburger- they are very big patties but really good and super juicy. I got onion rings and they were homemade!! And well-seasoned. I would definitely get those, though I saw the fries were also fresh-cut too. I would definitely go back. read more

What a cute little location for a nice sit down dinner. I came here with my family as a table of 4 adults and 3 kids they easily and quickly sat us in the back of the dining room inside. The server was very friendly and helpful. I wanted a local drink which they didn't have any specialty drinks but she had a cocktail which they called the lunar eclipse which had vodka, ginger beer and a apple liquor which was very delicious. I also had the grilled haddock which was delicious very moist lots of butter with an overwhelming side of mashed potato which I couldn't finish. My mom's shrimp was delicious also very tender and looked perfect! My daughter did not like her Mac n cheese as she is very particular on flavor she only ate a little of it. Overall I think it was a good stop for us as we left full and happy we found this place in the middle of few places to choose from. read more

Scallop plate did not have many but the flavor was excellent. The fries were nice and crispy. The caprese burger was very tasty with a flavorful pesto. Service, we got here for any crowd so she was extremely attentive. The decor is very basic local establishment. read more

We're so glad we tried this place. While the ambience is lacking a bit, the quality of the food, and the value, is outstanding. The garlic honey brussel sprouts are crispy and delicious. Hand-cut fries are some of the best I've tasted. Garden salad for $5.99 is hige and veru good. 'nduja with shrimp amazing. Seafood platter didn't have scallops (not available) but the shrimp and haddock were splendid. Cheesecake was perfect. Prices are fantastic, so even though the room isn't romantic, we left extremely happy. read more

Not what I was expecting in D-F, had an interesting evening dining outside at one of their fire pit tables. I tried the sautéed Sea Scallops which were yummy and properly prepared. The Mac and Cheese side was less than expected. My wife had the grilled haddock, lemon butter on side. Seemed a bit overcooked. Her baked potato was a little underdone. As the sun set, we asked the owner, TJ, to start the fire table. Perfect place to linger with another glass of wine, cinnamon twists. If they added s'mores fixings or cheese board we'd DEFINITELY be back. I hope TJ will find his stride and make a go of it! read more

We took friends here when they first opened. I was surprised was surprised at the menu which was very small to choose from all with fine dining prices. The place was very small. Seating seemed elbow to elbow & quite close to other tables. The cut of steak on the menu was the smallest worst cut I've ever seen at a restaurant. There was a very large portion of it was white fat. My friend was fine with it but it should've been sent back. My daughter's chicken was dry & the order of fish was over cooked & had the same seasoning crusted into it as the chicken did. I couldn't eat it due to the very bad fishy taste. Service was ok. The new owner was a young entrepreneur & I was impressed just not with the food & high prices & small portions. I've heard since then the food has been much better & prepared with more on the menu. We will give them another try in the future & hope it's better. read more

Cameron was a wonderful server, very attentive and friendly. The house made mozzarella sticks are incredible, fresh mozzarella perfectly prepared. The honey Brussel sprouts are crispy and delicious. I ordered the gnocchi with spring vegetables and a pesto cream sauce. This dish is very flavorful and I loved it although the dish is served with a good portion of spring vegetables it was prepared with only seven gnocchi which was disappointing. The dessert menu is wonderful and they were all very fresh. The coconut cream pie was the favorite for this visit. read more

A refreshing twist on favorite Maine dishes plus some innovations with a helpful and friendly staff! We enjoyed several visits to Chew62 during summer 2022. Memorable dishes included grilled swordfish with a mango salsa and properly made Caesar salad. Their clam chowder was a great presentation of a Maine favorite. Their fried clams did not disappoint! The servers are very friendly here, but for some reason the salads which are good come out at the same time or sometimes after the entrees are served. With that said the pasta dishes are what keeps us going back. I strayed to the fried chicken and was very disappointed. An appetizer of Italian or garlic bread to order with the pasta would be a nice add since bread is not served with the dish. The coconut pie is non traditional, but delicious. This is a favorite place in the area for pasta - I just wish for a little more space between the courses so I don't feel rushed. read more

We were very pleased with our food - no complaints - everything was tasty and served hot. We tried a chowder, burger, fried shrimp and steak. However, the service seemed off. Waitress was friendly but it just took a long time to get drink orders and food. It seems like this may have been an issue in the kitchen - that they are still getting it down - but food was just coming out pretty slowly. Wait staff seemed to be in the kitchen when there were tables to be bussed... Hope they figure it out, since it's a nice option for dinner. read more

Decided to try for the second time. My son came home from mass. Thought I would take him for a nice dinner. He ordered the filet minion medium rare and my friend ordered the tips the same. Both were well done! They took off the price of the filet but not the sides. Very bummed. read more

The wife and I have been here several times and each time is as good as the last. The waitress was friendly and prompt and the food was outstanding. Wife had the Kobe flat iron steak and based on the numerous eye rolls and "oh my god" I would say she loved it. I tried the fried chicken and onion rings and both were fantastic. we ordered out for the first time and it was horrible. we orded french onion soup, chicken Alfredo and the chicken tenders with frys and asked for a bunch of sweet thi chili sauce. the french onion soup was a cup salt that tasted luke soy sauce it was absolutely inedible. the chicken alfrado was bland and had a bunch of mostly uncooked peices of garlic in it. the chicken tenders were cold and about half the portion you get vs. going to eat in. the sweet thi chili sauce that we ordered ended up being sweet n sour sauce. so needless to say it was a waste of 41 dollars and highly disappointing meal. read more
