Shala is the founder and works in an office right next door. Tiffany, Ryan, Michael, and Christy are the wonderful co-workers that fill the desks in this petite space. They are all friendly, ambitious, and courteous young professionals that respect the fact that you are there to work, but also the fact that you are there for good company. In March Creative Colony moves to the World Building in Silver Spring where they will host a larger space for professionals like myself. Custom phone booths are being built for private phone calls. Office space will be rented at different levels based on need. Conference space will be available as well. All too nurture young creative collaboration. Most of it is little stuff: The kitchen is poorly equipped (plenty of coffee mugs, but just paper plates and paper bowls for lunch); it's cold in the winter; the snacks are hardly worth getting up for (cheap crap from costco most days, with the occasional exception); the chairs are super uncomfortable, optimized for chic magazine-cover aesthetics over actual usability. A little bit more important is the flaky internet, which I've struggled with since I got here. I've had to continually move around the facility to chase elusive solid connections. The worst, though, is that when I signed up in January, I specifically informed them that I was moving out of the area at the end of February. The sales person told me to just cancel the membership at the end of the month, but for some reason I interpreted that as "at the beginning of the next cycle". When I went to cancel today (the first business day of February), they happily informed me that they'd be charging me for the entire month of March ($332) and there was nothing I could do about it, despite the fact that it would be physically impossible for me to utilize my membership. The tone in the email almost made me feel like they were high-fiving in the background, having caught another sap on a yet another stupid technicality. Like I said, just don't bother. There are better places out there with better people staffing them.

As a volunteer for the event, I was able to see how accommodating the space was for our event. A main dining area, large kitchen with a huge fridge/freezer combo, 2 sinks, plenty counter space food and drinks for the bartenders, and multiple rooms for a photo booth and other intimidate games. We packed out the place, but it never felt cramped or having people on top of another. I hope they continue to host events here.

WeWork is THE best and I really like this one in College Park MD. A few highlights: - Warm atmosphere and plenty of space to bring your laptop and get things done - Easy parking - Plenty of spots to mix up your location - i .e. they have this great couch area. - Nitro cold brew, lime soda water, and kombucha on tap! Great tap coffee too. - Being right across the street from UMD is nice to take a walk during lunch break. - Bike trails for those road biker like me - EXTREMELY friendly and helpful staff at the front desk. You can't go wrong with WeWork anywhere and it's 100% worth the ROI and investment. However, this one in College Park is one of my favorites. Definitely check it out.
