The grounds team also decided to water a hole for 15 minutes which prevented us from playing. We then kept getting yelled at to play faster and that we were slowing things down, which was pretty frustrating. I might try again in the fall.

My golf game has been stagnant for 15 years. My slice remained strong, my iron work remained weak…read moredespite lots of conventional golf lessons. Working with Nondh Amranand at Golftec has been a breakout for my game. The technology of the launch monitor combined with video replay and Nondh's observations accelerated my game to where I am now eager to get on the course rather than avoiding the tee box. Flaws were immediately visible on the video and results were immediately visible in the launch monitor where I could see the distance I was hitting the ball and the angle of flight. The three forms of feedback moved my game from stagnant to dynamic with improvements coming quickly. Highly recommend Nondh for his great insights and creative techniques to improve my swing.

Note: Golf review only…read more I LOVE this track. It hosted the 1921 US Open which already says a lot. There is so much history here and it is a fantastic location. I know some complain about the layout but they truly maximize the land they have. It will be interesting to see how the Purple Line affects a hole or two. The mix at this course both off the tee and into the green will test every part of your game. They also have some of the best greens I have ever played on and apparently this is a constant throughout the year. One hint, stay below the hole. The par 3 16th (I believe) is iconic and may have been the influence for Augusta National's famed 12th hole. The 18th is a brute and a beauty heading back to the clubhouse. I have also had a great experience with everyone playing at and working for this country club the two times I had the privilege of playing it. I played in a match here and they guys we played against were great golfers and even better hosts. Bob Dolan, the head professional here for decades, was also very gracious. It was fun being in the presence of a legend. And while there is a very high end feel to the club, I never felt too out of place here. That's saying a lot for a guy who grew up only being able to afford munis. And there are other prestigious country clubs in the area where I can't say the same. Obviously it was an absolute privilege to play here, and I hope to be back some day.

I generally host quarterly dinners here for my company with about 40-55 people total. The grounds are very nice and the clubhouse has the feel of old money exclusivity. We have used two of their larger private rooms for our dinner presentations and all evenings have run smoothly. They do have microphone and projector screen on-hand. The events are never understaffed and dinner service and passed apps always move in a timely fashion. The food is decent for larger events. The past apps are really good, I'd suggest the bbq chicken cups and coconut fried shrimp. The entrees are standard and mediocre which is common for groups over 20 at all venues with the beef being slightly above average and the crab cakes slightly below. The food always arrives promptly on my timeline which is key in our business meetings. The main ballroom, I think, is best for business/corporate events. Although, classy with a pretty patio attached, the ceilings are low and it doesn't have a real WOW factor for a wedding. Very little direction is needed here and this club truly is a "yes" club. Parking can be an issue if there are multiple events on your evening, valet is available if there is an attendant on-hand. Jackets are required for men after either 4 or 5pm and there is also a no cellphone policy.

New Golfer Alert! I…read morehave a whole Golf Coach and since I travel so much I hardly have time to really give golf the attention it needs. My honey pot loves this store! So do I! The women's selection of clothes is perfect! I love love love golf attire. I have been buying pieces from each golf course like the guys do and the fabric and material is great. I rather wear golf shirts as lounge wear because of the comfort. My PGA shirt from Florida is so comfy. With that said although PGA is the biggest Golf store it stays crowded and bays are usually full. They definitely have more variety but not sure they have the same trade in deal as the competitors. Overall the value is great and golf stuff is pretty competitive in price. We come often when we are actually here in the DMV on the weekends. Come September I'll have to take my golf set on the road and I'm grateful they had smaller carrying cases so I can just take my range clubs to practice. This is the ultimate rich person sport so fair warning! This is not for the cheapskates!

I brought a friend who's new to golf to try some irons. We were told to wait, and after about 10 minutes, an employee named Dan took us to a simulator. When my friend said he wanted to "hit balls," Dan immediately got condescending and reprimanded us, even though it was clear my friend was new and simply misspoke. Later, when I asked to try a couple clubs while my friend grabbed others, Dan asked if I planned to buy anything. I said possibly, depending on the data and pricing. He responded with a sarcastic comment implying I was just there to "bang balls," then walked off saying, "have fun banging balls." The entire interaction was unprofessional and left a really bad impression. Unfortunately, I won't be returning after this experience.

One thing we quickly realized was that the Osprey's had excellent customer service. Every question we had was answered quickly. Vanessa was very friendly, professional, and easy to work with. Even with the follow up questions we had after our tour, Vanessa responded to our emails quickly. Once we were about 45 days away from the wedding, we were paired with Tori, who was our Event Director. When we met with Tori, she was very friendly and helpful. One thing that we found helpful was the timeline template they provided us with. It helped us plan out our reception details with ease. One thing to note was that the Osprey's provides a list of preferred vendors to work with, such as DJ's, caterers etc. Their preferred list was a God send! We ended up hiring 2 of their preferred vendors and so happy we did! The day of our wedding was PERFECT. Everything we planned and wanted actually happened. I received so many compliments about the venue and my wedding and I was so happy our guests truly enjoyed it. Tori did a fantastic job as our event director and made sure we followed the timeline and kept things moving with ease. While the day flew by, we simply had an amazing wedding. I wanted to send a huge thank you to both Vanessa and Tori for making our special day go so well. :)

If you're in the DC Metropolitan area and looking for a solid golf club fitting, don't go anywhere…read morebut here. Don't go to Dick's, or Golf Galaxy, or really anywhere. You'll see why they are a Golf Digest Top 100 Clubfitter. Wade and Jack are an experience in and of themselves. You always feel welcomed there when you walk in and meet Jack, and get excited for your new set when you get into the back room with Wade. Wade has this down to a science. His equipment is state of the art and will teach you a lot about your swing. He is a low handicapper who played (I think) on a variety of tours for awhile, so he understands the game and sees a broad spectrum of golfers come through. He gets to know you, makes it a personal experience, and clearly loves what he does. I left my shoes and coat at their shop after my fitting last weekend. As I got to the golf course at which I was playing afterwards, I saw Jack driving away. He had gone to the course to drop off my stuff as I hadn't answered my phone when they tried calling me. Personal effort and customer service like that doesn't exist in 2012, and I was shocked that they went so far as to do that for me. All in all, if you want to have fun with your fitting, learn about your swing, and get a very solid set of clubs that matches everything about you, go here. You won't be disappointed.
