The next (and last) visit- I pulled up to a pump and was angrily waved forward by an impatient young man. I then realized there was another pump hidden behind the small building. Yes, okay that makes sense. While attempting to take a photo for the Yelp page, the attendant leans in the window all creepy-like to ask what I'm doing: "...What?" "What are you doing? This was after a conversation requesting why there were charges on my credit card (check card) totaling $85.79 (80 and 5.79) more than the actual amount of $40.20 which was what the gas cost. She told me that the $5.79 was paid in cash and should not have been charged. So why was it? What happens if I get overdrafts and my balance falls below zero? This can happen even if it's $1 short on the bank account. Her inability to explain what will happen if my bank overdrafts because more money will be drafted is inexcusable for any employee handling the public's money. She said her manager comes in at 5 and leaves at 10am. There was no manager on duty. She could not help me with the answer. And no one else there could help either. If Karen, the boss, had the ability to provide an emergency number to handle customers with important questions, that would have elevated my trust in this station. I had a direct conversation with Natasha asking questions that were relevant. One other question I asked was if I was charged extra for using a credit card. She said it's .10/gallon extra. I run a company. If I charged extra to my customers for their using credit cards, I would be in trouble. It's illegal from what I understand and I explained that to her. I explained I did not know for sure and I would research this. (I did - it's at the end of my review.) There was no nastiness or accusation in my statement. It was neutral. That is when she said she was going to hang up. I thanked her for her time. When assertiveness (not aggressiveness) is turned into meanness, we have a problem with our society. The 2nd star is for this employee, Nicole, who honored the current situation with the .90/gallon when it had to be broken into two separate pumps. That was honorable. Oh, here's another reason for a 1 star: There was one other incident in the past when they were honoring discounts from Safeway. After pumping the gas, the discount did not go through because the attendant put in a wrong phone number. This company did not offer to credit the additional discount which totaled $1.00/gallon. * * * * * UPON RESEARCH: IT IS LEGAL FOR BUSINESSES IN OREGON TO CHARGE A "CONVENIENCE FEE" - However, in 10 states it is illegal. See, after 9PM on most nights I've stopped in for a 6 pack, it's considerably after dark. That's kind of the way things work with most people, right? Apparently they had too many run-ins with punk kids stealing beer. Put bells on the door handles or something, don't pester the other 99% of your adult customers by having them carry around some key while they make their nachos and peruse the magazines... Yeah, you can take it back, but you see my point. Other than the key thing, this is just like any other 7-11 store. Good lighting, a Red-Box out front, generic local staff that treat you like you treat them-- the way it should be.

I know convenient stores aren't known for customer service that is spectacular, but it is nice if you ask a simple question to get a yes or no back. We were in a staring contest - and it just felt weird. I will say that I do appreciate the availability of freshish foods. I was hungry and had a snack I wasn't sure would be sufficient. I grabbed a pack of their sliders. They kept fine. Later I did eat them - I changed out the American cheese for Swiss, added mayo and Grey Poupon + some spring mix lettuce.

This was the same thing BUT I drove the main street to the other side of the freeway and there IS an Astro right there which has their gas .30 less.... damn it. This spot was a bit tricky in and out also since it is visible right off the freeway so other people fall for that trap. Don't do it! Go down to the other side of the freeway and seriously, there is another gas station RIGHT THERE!

In general, Costco has the lowest gas prices. On 4-11-26, regular gasoline was $4.69 per gallon. Outside, we saw it as high as $5.69. So... I'm glad we filled up here. It was efficient and economical!

If you're going to jump in the pro lane, bring pro energy. Swipe, pump, and go. If not, stay in the rookie lane where the rest of us can at least mentally prepare.
