This review is mainly just for the vacuum…read more Have been coming here for years now it's a quieter gas station with a vacuum in the back of the building for $1 in quarters for a few minutes (probably 4 minutes) and much cheaper and more peaceful than brown bear, etc. Has a convenient garbage can and is usually empty making it a great place for me to clean the inside of my car and I can be thorough and not feel rushed. Only one vacuum available. As for the gas station, the inside employees are usually helpful and friendly but products don't always have a price tag or sticker so I avoid the products I don't know how much they are..Seems they also have mechanics available if you need work on your car. About 3 weeks ago I was calling around various station to find assistance with mounting 4 tires on my truck. When I spoke with Ike the mechanic on duty he had quoted me $45 per axle. I ask, is this for each wheel and he replied not per axle 2 wheels each. so I booked an appointment to drop off my truck the next morning. When I called later that afternoon for an ETA to pick up they said it would be ready by 5. Unfortunately I could not stop by until after 6pm and they told me that it would not be a problem as someone would be there until 9pm. When I eventually made my way to the Shell station the gentleman working let me know that the bill came to $250. I was shocked and asked this is not correct it should be closer to $110 after tax as I was quoted $45 per axle. He let me know that he could not do anything with the bill, and I was not expecting that he could, so I left very frustrated and began wondering about a bait and switch scam. My wife told me to let it go for the night until you could speak with the manager or owner in the morning as they opened up at 7am. When I called the next day at 7am, Ike answered and after I explained my frustration, he said, he was referring to 45 min per axle, not $45 per axle. I let him know that that is not what he quoted as I would have never dropped off my truck, with this outrageous rates to mount tires. He said that he would talk to the manager and call me back after 8am. When he called back I was informed that they would take off the tire disposal fee of $20 but that is all she was willing to do. At this point I was left with no recourse but to pick up my truck and discuss with the manager in person. When I discussed the bait and switch and dishonesty that has happened I was not offered any sympathy or apology but rather, this is all we can do. Lesson learned after stewing over this crap service and dishonesty is buyer beware at this Shell Station. If you are thinking about getting any service done here don't. If you chose to take the risk, make sure you get a written, signed cost before handing them your keys. Ike is a nice guy but I am certain his hands are tied to the poor ownership and the manager who I suspect is the owner. I drove by today and noticed your store front is boarded up. Looks like you are angering more than just myself. If I could rate you a NO STAR I would. Honesty and Integrity go a long way and this Shell ownership has neither. Fixed my fit and just took my Mercedes in for an oil change and brake problem. They fixed it and found the faulty brake problem for $160 Comes down to trust. Robert is the mechanic and he doesn't overcharge people nor will he screw anyone over. I trust them and send friends. I was referred by my little sister who gave them glowing reviews.

I went to the cashier for some quarters and asked him if the air pump was working. Initially he hesitated and then said he didn't know and couldn't care less. I then found out the pump was indeed not working after I deposited 6 quarters. I believe they knew the pump was out of order and didn't bother to post a notice on the pump. I figured dealerships must add a higher premium than local shops so brought the car to Jeff at the Chevron in South End, instead. After careful inspection of the car, Jeff could have easily made a fortune, but instead he took the high-route and concluded that he wouldn't have recommended any of the "fixes" that the dealership tried to scare me with. Turns out dealerships don't just rip off their customers, but also straight up lie to them. If you want an honest mechanic that serves the neighborhood, come to Jeff. The food was excellent! Perfect temperature, humungous, crisp catfish, plump gizzards, tasty pizza sticks, & both bbq & bean with cheese chimichangas/burritos. Everything was absolutely delicious. My husband & I live on Whidbey Island, so by the time we get there, which takes 2 hours, we're ready to have a feast when we get back home, which takes another 2 hours. This meal was the perfect ending to our busy day. Thank you, Drew for being such a positive fixture & an inspiration to everyone out there. This Shell has a Jacksons convenience store and a car wash. There is a discount given on gas if you get a car wash at the same time. Gas prices are moderately priced for the area. The spots were close together, so it was a tight fit for the stall I pulled in as there was a car in front of me. For my payment method, I went with a Shell gift card I received from my aunt in 2021 for Christmas. Paying at the pump was simple and instructions clearly communicated. Regular/unleaded was $5.799 per gallon, which while high is not the highest I have seen in the Puget Sound area in the past year or so. Fueling was smooth and when the receipt printed after I was finished it even listed my remaining gift card balance, which I thought was pretty neat/helpful.
