My husband is a Navy veteran & we've gone to the VA Medical Center for many years, but only recently found this hidden gem from coming across all this positive feedback. Well, Drew did not disappoint. He & the gentleman with him took my order, which was huge (I wanted to try everything) & I'd remarked to them how impressed I was with what I'd read about their store & about them as people. The food was excellent! Perfect temperature, humungous, crisp catfish, plump gizzards, tasty pizza sticks, & both bbq & bean with cheese chimichangas/burritos. Everything was absolutely delicious. My husband & I live on Whidbey Island, so by the time we get there, which takes 2 hours, we're ready to have a feast when we get back home, which takes another 2 hours. This meal was the perfect ending to our busy day. Thank you, Drew for being such a positive fixture & an inspiration to everyone out there. You make people's day all the brighter after even just a brief encounter with you. You served your customers well for 20 years & it shows. The food alone is well worth the stop. Check it out!! However, the gas was relatively cheap, and its location was relatively close to a freeway entrance. It has a small convenience market that looks about as shoddy as the rest of the gas station. Is it sparkly and shiny as the stores you will see at bigger gas station chains? No, but they carry your usual food/beverage items, and the worker was friendly enough.

ReOpens at 4:30. 3/10/21, 7:30pm, actual hand written note on door, "closed for lunch, back at 7:55". 3/12/21, 7:21pm, bathroom break I basically stopped going here, even though it's a block away. A couple of the newer employees seem to either be undertrained or generally not comfortable with doing math, as they are slower to make change and don't count it back to you. A security guard at this location makes a lot of sense due to the very visible and present population consisting of mental illness, homeless, and desperate folks. However, the security guards they have hired don't actually do much other than play on their phones or read books without being bothered to look up. They don't do anything to deter the loitering outside, so going to the pay window after dark is an adventure. Some of the security people in the past have become cashiers here. Instead of having one employee and 1 security guard, they should have 2 employees who can run the till, and focus on better customer service and safety. To be fair, they have 2 good employees that have been there for a while, so it's not all bad. The only reason I've decided to leave this review is because I walked by there at 11:35am this morning 5/11/21 just as the cashier and security guard walked outside and locked the door behind them....... to have a 15 minute smoke break. There were 3 cars getting gas at the time and I saw at least 6 or 7 people try to go into the store only to be turned away by the employee...... 11:48am the employee finished his smoke break and reopened. WHAT THE HELL???? Do they even have a manger at this store to hold anyone accountable? Also there was an actual dumpster fire started by someone who lingers around the area the night before last. I'm not sure if it was an employee, security guard, or random person who called the 911..... my guess is the employee(s) were probably too busy taking a break or playing on their phone.

Finding the line to the pumps wasn't too challenging. I just waited for my turn because - hey, what else can be done? All customers played by the rules and we all got the best price for gasoline! It was the quickest and easiest check in that I have had. And the most knowledgeable and pleasant. Our rep was super helpful, kind and even went above and beyond our expectations. They will literally give it away an hour before your arrival. We reserved a van and showed up at 7AM. She told us she gave it away "because she can" even though we had it reserved and drove an hour to get it. She said quote on quote "It's my rules and customers like you guys are HOARDERS thinking you can reserve a truck". (Whatever that means...). We tried to understand what she meant and told her we never were notified this and she said "I don't follow U-Haul I follow my rules". I asked her why and she said "this area is super sketchy so I want to get rid of my vans as fast as possible" (WTF?!). She had no solution and basically told us to F off, we ultimately went to a different rental company. Once again this site is very vocal about not following U-Haul policy and "make their own rules". I don't have her name but terrible person with terrible view on business and hates customers. BEWARE. Hope U-Haul checks it out as this woman / location is destroying the brand.
