This place always smells!! Meat always looks old!! And they still walk around with an attitude! This is my last resort in lake LA.

I went here several times during my stay in the area and found the place to be super convenient- rather than trekking to the town of Lancaster. The convenience is worth an extra 10% tacked onto the price. The place is basically a small market with pretty much everything you need, as well as many import beers and firewood. The firewood is actually the cheapest in the area (regarding the markets). The gas is also more than reasonable. The prices inside were typical, I think, of more rural markets. Not sure why people are saying this place is overpriced. I guess some people get their panties in a bunch paying $2.99 for mustard instead of $2.69. read more

Ridiculously inflated prices for poor quality or expired goods. Staff is increasingly rude, rushed, or discourteous whether I've been getting gas or purchasing milk. Avoid it like the plague, because you might just contract it from this place. read more

I'm new to Palmdale; I work in Palmdale as a ranch hand. I have been to the saddleback market a couple dozen times, already. Most recently, I was wearing a heavy gauge turtleneck sweater. My sweater was pulled up and doubled over so that it covered more than half my face. I was waiting to be helped. A Hispanic male, came out and began yelling at me, ordering me to leave the store because I didn't fit the meat clerk's criteria for having a face mask. On my way out of the store, the meat clerk came out from behind the counter and was not aggressively come towards me. His postering (clenched fists) told me that he meant to do me bodily harm. I quickly got out the front door. In doing some homework on the market... I found out the owner of the establishment, condones that behaviour. I also find out that 'Juan' the meat clerk was fired from his previous employer (150-200ft away) Juan had been warned on numerous occasions that aggressive behaviours wouldn't be tolerated, hence being terminated from employment. read more

I love this place, so convenient and prices are , if anything lower then the market. The staff is friendly and I love the place. the drinks are nice and cold and the deli makes the store smell so good. I shop here at least once a day and always look forward to the friendly service. read more

The worst place ever. I always see the manager yelling and fighting with the staff. The staff is always complaining they're over worked. Everytime I go in there I see rotten expired food. Last time I was in there Nats were flying around the produce area and I saw maggots in some of the meat. I never see any of the staff wearing hair nets or gloves when handling food. The place is always dirty or under stocked with certain things. People in the area complain that the manager/owners are racist because things like chicken, watermelon, and grape juice are cheap because they sell fast. I have heard that the FDA has sent out people to inspect but get money or sexual bribes. I can't fathom why this place is still in business. read more

Wish I could give this place a negative 5 stars. Remember this is a very low income area. A small Celeste frozen pizza is a dollar everywhere, 79 cents on sale here its three dollars. The owner is greedy he owns the Ace hardware and the dairy in this town. They just raised the prices in the deli area which is dirty and they food handlers don't have certificates or wear gloves when making the food. Don't get me stated on the manager here he is a bitter, nasty, rude man. These owners don't care about the community and are happy to sell food past the expiration date to make a profit. I hear what everyone is saying about prices...but let me say this....I lived at the top of the Topanga mountains a couple of years ago and the market in town was one of 3 places to go for food & drinks. It was understood (just like when you live on an island) that stuff is gonna be a little more expensive than on the mainland. It's just the trade off. With that said, the reason I like this place is that they carry some really good craft beers and they also carry almost all of the Jones Soda flavors. One of my best buddies owns a home in this town and whenever I'm there I head over to Saddleback for a round of beers. read more

With the Dollar General across the street and the new Family Dollar across from DG, I do not see this market lasting. Inspite of attempted improvements, the store is not better, possibly worse. I am sad for this as I am a fan of the country store and like going to places like this. If the owners do not care however, then there are new choices out here now and I will spend my dollar else where when possible. read more

DON'T SUPPORT A BUSINESS THAT DOES NOT RESPECT ITS CUSTOMERS If your a resident of Lake LA you have know you have very little choices when it comes to businesses in this small town. With that said, I went in last week to get gas and by the the time it was my turn to pay I had forgotten which pump I parked in fornt of. Told the tall bald guy behind the counter where I was parked and he said he did not know which pump that was. So I had to walk out get the number, but as I did he had to make some sort of inaudible comment which he quickly stopped once I turned around. I ended up taking my cash else where and never going back again! read more

I'm so disgusted with this store. My mom went here just today to buy refrigerated burritos for my niece, only to find that at some point, these burritos had stopped being refrigerated. She opened them to find them covered in green and black mold. When she took them back to the store, she couldn't track down management (and whoever was in the office was completely rude and refused to help). The employees seemed entirely unconcerned with the moldy food, so I'm assuming this happens all the time. I think I'll be avoiding this store from now on; I'd rather just drive the 20 minutes into Palmdale. What I would like to know, is how did this store ever manage an A grade from the health department? The only thing I can think is that they must have paid them off, which is disturbing. Stuff like this is why Lake Los Angeles will never be more than it is; nobody cares about anything out here, except maybe for a very small minority of people, and I don't know if that's enough. read more

Called to order a pizza at about 1025 they said it had to be ordered at the window and paid for first. Which is weird but I was like okay so I showed up to order the pizza and no one was at the window. So I walked around to see if maybe it was open which it wasn't but was understandable. I go back to the window and wait. I knock on the glass then on the bottom think no one came so then I called them to let them know I was at the window I can hear there phone ringing but still no one answered I waited a bit longer before I decided to leave. If you're going to stay open 24 hours through the window at least have someone there. Or have something you can ring to let the employees know someone is at the window. This place should have an f and closed. The owner has said multiple times look at the trash that walks in his doors so he doesn't care what the quality of the products are. The meat is bleached and isn't thrown away as needed. Baby formula at one point was 3 yrs old. Someone must be paying the food inspectors. Really don't understand why anyone shops there. read more

I have lived in Lake Los Angeles 15 years now. When I moved here it was reported that a Stater Bro. and a Rite Aid would be moving in and building very soon and would be finished by 2002. It never happened because Sattleback Market who owned the land all around said not a good idea it would impact their store too much and they would have to close. Now 15 years later Lake LA is considered a NO GROWTH TOWN. The Sattleback market was bought and sold twice. No new stores, except two dollar stores that have very little for a dollar. Sattleback market is considerably more expensive than any store in town or out of town. Canned dog food is between $1.00 and $135 at the dollar store. It is around $2.00 here at Sattleback. You can not call in and order pizza? Now you have to wait over 30 minutes while in the store. This would not take my one star review, I had to put 2, but it is a minus 5. read more
