This Chevron is $0.60 more than any other gas station. I'd avoid going here unless it's for snacks!

Not impressed. Poor ownership overall and bad customer service. I only stop here if I'm very low on gas.

Instead of helping me resolve the issue, the attendant immediately acted as though I was entering the code incorrectly and then accused me of using an expired receipt. The problem with that accusation is that the receipt clearly states at the bottom that it never expires. Even after I pointed that out, his attitude suggested that I was trying to steal a car wash. That was incredibly rude and completely uncalled for. It was obvious from the receipt that it was a legitimate purchase, yet I was treated like I was being dishonest. I don't understand why anyone would assume a customer is trying to steal a car wash, especially over a valid receipt. This is a nice area I live in! I always thought Raley's was known for exceptional customer service. As a paying customer and taxpayer in this community, I deserve to be treated with respect, not as if I'm trying to steal a car wash. I hope management addresses this employee's behavior so other customers don't have the same experience. He did blame that management told him that he has to be this way. Now that's saying something!

A Friday Night Home Run at Penryn Grill!…read more This was our third visit to Penryn Grill, and someone suggested we come back on a Friday night for the clam chowder and fish & chips. Let me just say...it was absolutely worth the return trip! First, the clam chowder. My wife gave it a 10 out of 10, and that's saying something because she's a self-proclaimed clam chowder snob. She rarely finds a chowder that can compete with her favorite spots in Monterey. Well...hallelujah--we finally found one! The bread bowl deserves its own standing ovation. It tasted like fresh sourdough that had just come out of the oven--crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and absolutely delicious. Normally you finish the chowder and leave most of the bread behind. Not this time. I ate every single bite of that bread bowl. It was simply scrumptious. The fish and chips were equally impressive. They served a huge plank of fish that was lightly battered and cooked perfectly. Too many restaurants hide a tiny piece of fish under a mountain of batter, leaving you feeling disappointed (and overly full). Not Penryn Grill. The fish was fresh, flaky, and outstanding. In fact, it was the first time in our 43 years of marriage that I've seen my wife finish every bite of her fish and chips! The chips were another pleasant surprise. Instead of the usual thick fries, they were thinly shaved, perfectly seasoned, and absolutely addictive. We'd never had them prepared that way before, and they were a home run. Of course, I couldn't leave without ordering what I consider Penryn Grill's signature dish--the shrimp tacos. They are hands down the best around. Perfectly seasoned, loaded with flavor, and honestly worthy of ordering every single visit. The atmosphere was terrific. We loved the live '80s music, the service was fantastic as always, and our waitress graciously endured my terrible jokes with a smile. That's five-star service in my book. As retirees, we're always on the hunt for a place that serves a great meal at a great value, and Penryn Grill checks every box. One tip: If you're planning to go on a Friday for the chowder and fish & chips, arrive between 3:00 and 5:00 p.m. They regularly sell out--and after this meal, it's easy to understand why. We'll definitely be back...again!

The beer selection and service are fine. When in the establishment, it is easy to forget it is attached to a gas station. Outdoor seating with nice fireplaces are available but this time, it was too hot for me. I will likely return to try out other menu items.

I've never been to a Buc-ee's-though I think that might change this summer, maybe…read more Anyways when I stopped at Maverik for the first time out in Rocklin,I was thinking that maybe just maybe this is kind of what a Buc-ee's might look like. I got to admit I love how wide the gas station lanes are outside-this is the kind of gas station I want to frequent always. Walking inside I was really taken aback by the sheer size of the place..I guess I should've figured it out by just looking at the size of the building but yeah I was still surprised. Inside they have so much ready-to-eat food available-so much grab-and-go options but the thing that looked the most intriguing was the brisket wraps-next time I'm there,I will for sure be trying those brisket wraps. They have a pretty killer beer selection as well located in their stand-alone beer locker that keeps the beer ice cold. I can't quite put my finger on it but I just really liked the vibe in that gas station-the employees seemed happy and friendly and everything was super organized and clean. It's one of those rare gas stations where you don't feel like you're just stopping for gas--you actually want to go inside and look around. I can say with some certainty that this is my gas station of choice in the Rocklin area. It's a good one......Now to check out Buc-ee's.

The store is always clean, and somehow the bathrooms are too--which honestly feels like finding a unicorn at a gas station. They've got a ton of snacks, drinks, and grab-and-go food, so whether I need caffeine, a road trip snack, or an "I forgot to eat today" meal, they've got me covered. And I'll admit it... the burritos are actually pretty good. Way better than my expectations for gas station food. The rewards app is another reason I keep coming back. They always seem to have coupons, discounts, and Freebie Fridays are a nice little bonus. Who doesn't like free snacks? Overall, Maverik makes spending too much money on energy drinks and road trip snacks feel a little more justified. Clean store, good food, great rewards--hard to ask for much more from a gas station.

Upon entry you are delightfully greeted by a tip of a hat and a milday, which is precisely my pace. I galavanted into the corridors merely endeavoring for two items. A plethora of toilet paper, 7 years worth to be precise, and a bakers dozen of Costco's finest hot dogs. Prices are exceptional, and logistics were effortless. I stuffed my Kirkland cargo utility trousers with a revolvers chamber worth of flaccid meat conduits, my thighs began to cook the dogs from the radiant heat due to intense frolicking throughout the aisles. I've always ran hot, like an aged thunderbird. I just had to sample the various succulent provenders that act as end caps to the enabling aisles of over consumption, Tis the American way and I for one, am a true patriot. People call me Americas sweetheart. At any rate, I now can wipe relentlessly without worry of depleting my supply of rumpus papyrus. And I've got my dogs with me for the next 30 minutes. Life is good. Costco is great. Best Regards, JC

Unfortunately, my recent experience at the Roseville warehouse fell far short of Costco's reputation. I purchased a steak that was clearly spoiled upon opening. When I sought a refund, the membership desk staff insisted I should have stored the foul-smelling, rotten meat in my freezer and transported it back in my personal vehicle to prove the claim. When I questioned the hygiene and health risks of this request, the staff became dismissive and confrontational. While I eventually secured a refund, the process was unnecessarily difficult and like pulling teeth for a loyal customer over a $40 item. Forcing members to handle biohazardous waste to satisfy a return policy is a significant health protocol oversight. I hope management addresses the lack of professional judgment at this location.
