At every other arco when you pay with a debit card they give you the cash price, at this station they try to trick you into using the debit card like a credit card so they can charge you more. If you press debit and insert your card it won't read the card on the first try. Just leave it in there and pick debit again and it will finally give you the cash price. It's a shady practice by the station and Arco should definitely look into it. If you pull the card and try using the tap to pay it will give you the credit card price.

I only realized it after I finished pumping and saw that the total only went up to the amount he claimed I had paid. I counted my money multiple times before handing it over, so being told otherwise was extremely frustrating. It was only a small amount off , but that doesn't make it okay ... it was still my money. More than anything, I'm disappointed by how poorly the situation was handled and by the complete lack of customer service or accountability. Honestly one of the worst experiences I've had at a gas station.

I am not a regular here as I frequent a different gas station(s) in Torrance. Stopped in on a weekend to purchase a Lotto ticket or two and saw the deal for chocolate chip cookies by the counter. It's cheaper to get the deal for 3 opposed to just one cookie. Yes, it was an impulse buy but a good one at that. Haha. Took the cookies home and saw on the wrapper that it was baked locally but did not ID which local bakery. As for customer service, it was a no-nonsense type guy at the counter. I paid with cash (almost exact amount) so the transaction was simple. Will likely not be back at this location but check out the cookies deal at the Arco/ampm that I go to in Torrance.

Didn't get her name but I would just like to recognize this place for their kindness. Especially during a pandemic where people are to avoid any contact with each other, let alone their bodily fluids. 10/10 would recommend this place. Gas seems to be at a fair price, and they have great staff for urgent medical services.
