It stays light so late this time of year, (Jul 2026), that we moved on down the road for a walk in another park in Bozeman. It was after sunset, but still bright as day!
Cherry River Fishing Access trail is out on the north side of MT-205 Frontage Rd, east of MT-412 19th Ave. There's a small parking lot by a circular path about half-a-mile-long. FYI, there's an outhouse in the parking lot.
At the far end, there's a path that breaks off to the river, but we were there just for a sunset stroll. The wildflowers and the twilight mountain views were quite lovely. We walked the circle in 15 or 20min. It got a little too buggy for us, though just a little bug-spray would probably have kept them at bay. read more
