I entered the nail salon and was immediately asked what I wanted. I requested, a gel manicure. The woman stated "no shellac". I told her, gel as that is what I always request from My regular manicurist, which have been told shellac is different. She once again said "no shellac, it's the same thing ". I then responded, " well I guess shellac " I went to choose a color. As I did so, I heard the woman making fun, saying to her co-worker, I didn't know that gel is the same as shellac. Absolute horrible experience. Called for an appointment and they didn't do what I called and asked for. If you are understaffed why would you take walk ins? Instead of accommodating people who make appointments you rush them and are rude to them instead. On top of that they did such a mediocre pedicure and manicure. Never again. Didn't bother tipping. I moved to the area 4 months ago. My previous nail salon is an hour away so I wanted to look for something in the area. While I was doing some shopping I stumbled upon this salon. When I walked in for my appointment I was so excited because it had been about 6 months since I've been. I have a pedicure and full set appointment. Everything was going well until we started getting closer to the end of my appointment. My technician goes to wrap the towel around my calve and realized I have a very big calve. I'm aware it is challenging but never in my life has someone made me feel so terrible about my weight. She looked at her daughter and started laughing and talking under her breath while pointing at my leg. It does end there though. As I'm getting the gel polish out on, the tech proceeds to use the same UV light every other client is using on my toes. Her daughter starts raising her voice telling her to get a different light. She scurries off and gets a light with a metal bottom as to tell me I was going to crush the other one with my foot. This mother daughter duo is incredibly rude. The full set nail tech was nice and my finger nails came out beautiful. However, I will never return to that salon. read more

I have lived on the south coast for about 4 years now. Moved from the west coast. I have been searching for a salon that does colored powder ever since and I finally did. I am so happy with this salon. Brittany, the girl who helped me had a mess she had to take off. I felt bad. So she gently removed everything I previously had put on. She took her time soaking and grinding the old stuff off. And then she applied the new powder just like I asked. My cuticles were cut by the previous person who did them the other day so she was gentle with my nails through the whole process. They have soo many colors of powders here. I'm soo excited to start regularly coming here. And to make this place even better they actually make appointments on Mon - Thur. The weekends are walk in only which makes total sense. I finally have a new nail place I'm truly happy and excited to go to. I highly recommend this place. They are also centrally located in the shopping plaza behind the Dartmouth Mall. So easy for people to get to and find. read more

I call for in appointment yesterday for 12:30 pm to have a dip powder manicure when I get there 5minutes before my appointment and I wait for 20 minutes before the nail technicians star to do my nails and she star to file my nails the she start to put the dip powder in my nails I asked her that I want was a manicure with dip powder and she told me if she told me if she did the manicure with dip powder I was going to pay $5 dollar more and I told here the money wasn't the problem them she was taking so long and I didn't even have the dip powder done she was taking so long I had to do the gel manicure because I have to go back to work at the end she charge extra the I call and talk to the owner he hang up o my face this was my first time going to that place to be treat it like this I wouldn't recommend this please o anyone the service is horrible. read more

I came into the establishment for a fill of the dip powder. I was told my the nail technician to return every 2-3 weeks. Apparently they remove the entire nail.. including my acrylic. They did this without telling me the solution I soaked my nails into would remove everything. The nail technicians did not care nor did help me when this happened. I was given the "tough luck" look. Went there on a Monday and had a great experience. My nail tech was very detailed oriented and super nice! But sadly the product they're using is clearly not of good quality because by day 3 of my gel manicure, it started to chip. I've been doing gel manicures for years and I've never had my manicure start to chip sooner than 1.5 weeks after the manicure. Very disappointed. If the product they were using were of better quality, definitely would give 4-5 stars :/ read more

I had to come back and edit my original review.. Initially I was extremely upset with the color of my nails (I still kind of am) & the pain from the tech ripping my set off. It has been almost a month since I have gotten my nails done and they still look perfect. The color hasn't faded, Polish hasn't chipped and no nails have split or broke. For these reasons I am bumping my original one star rating up to 3 stars. I plan on going back and being much more careful about selecting my polish. read more

I have experienced better. The manicurist did not clip my cuticles well, there were loose snags and hangnails present even as I was walking out. They were not careful with the paint to keep it from touching the skin around my nails. It had curled up and looked messy. Five days later, the paint is completely chipped. I did enjoy the spa and massage portion, but the results of the manicure did not meet my expectations. I have had much better manicures. read more

This is my 3rd review. At first, I was so pleased to find a place that does the new ANC "dip" method, I raved about them. I'm writing this to warn people: DON'T USE THIS SALON! The techs watch TV while they work. The last time I went, I was with one of the male techs. He used a dremel on the top of my nails before applying the polish. I removed the polish after two weeks. My nails are now paper thin all the way down to the growth line. I will have to file or clip them as short as possible until they have completely regrown. That's about 3 months of no nails. I sincerely hope that this review saves someone else from the same experience. read more

I went in to this place twice. The first time to get a gel manicure which looked like complete shit because their color selection is garbage and because the man I had filed them completely crooked. I had to go home and file them myself afterwards. NOT TO MENTION THE FACT THAT HE WAS LOW KEY HITTING ON ME THE ENTIRE TIME. TELLING ME HOW BEAUTIFUL I AM AND CREEPILY STARING AT ME. Like okie doke, you've got to stop. Not that the blame is all on me here because I made the mistake of coming back to have them taken off. And because I was an ax murderer in a past life I had the same guy. Was super pissy with me and moody (maybe because I didn't give in to his advances?) AND STILL DID THE WORST JOB. Got a shellac French manicure for the first time here today. In the middle of my nails being in the UV Light, the woman grabbed the machine away from the table - while my hand was still inside. The way she did that was very rude! After leaving, I realized that two of my nails are noticeably messed up. It was boring sitting in silence considering they don't speak English very well and didn't understand me. I don't think I will be returning. read more

Asked him to do a French w a thin silver line and he tried to talk me out of it and then proceeded to make a thick ass line. And when the bill is 25$ and you give them 40$ and expect change and they hand you 6$ and keep the rest as tip. That is not OK! Tib is to be determined at the consumers discretion..not at theirs. This place sucked!! Don't spend your money here. I asked one of the nail techs to keep my nail length the same, but she kept filing my nails. She didn't cut my cuticles at all, and used the same nasty nail file and clippers that she used on other people. She tried to pressure me into getting acrylics even when I specifically told her NO. I got a dip powder and she didn't end up taking the excess off from under my nail. It was disgusting and the nails have excess solid powder glued to underneath my nail. She used the electric file and it started to burn my fingers and I told her that. She kept doing it until I pulled my hand back. There was no massage, or anything else other than doing a bad job to paint my nails. My nails are basically ruing because of how short they are, even when I kept telling her I wanted them LONG. The other nail techs that were around had one boisterous FaceTime call ranting about her boyfriend and her life. Complete waste of $30. Super rude ladies there too. I would give zero stars but sadly that is not an option. Nails are very dusty, dingy and gross. read more

I went here twice before posting this review and I had completely different experiences each time. The first time I just got a manicure and the girl basically rushed through it, forgot to our cuticle oil on my entire left hand, and barely applied lotion. I was disappointed but my nails were expertly painted and stayed chip - free for days so I figured I'd give it another go. Recently I decided to head there for both a manicure and pedicure and boy what a difference! The Deluxe Sla Pedicure is one of the best pedicures I have ever had- complete with a tingly clay mask for your legs, scrub, hot oil massage AND hot stone massage! It may have helped that I had a completely different technician, but this experience was much much better. The salon itself is clean, has a pretty good selection of nail polish, and they have a few people who do nail art if that's your thing. The funniest thing is that they have a Canadian "Prank" TV show playing in the background all day and more than a few times everyone in the place was cracking up laughing at the antics on the show which made it a very light-hearted, casual experience. I visit Cherry Nails in Dartmouth about once a month. They do a fantastic job with the ANC Dip product which I totally love. I've had my nails done via this method for exactly one year - changing the colors out once a month to accommodate for nail growth - and I've always had a good experience. The price I feel is fair, and my nails are stronger than they've ever been thanks to the ANC treatment. My pedicures also are always enjoyable - I generally have my toes done every couple of months when I'm too lazy to do it myself :) I've always been treated well here, and when they are super busy I realize that it's my choice to sit and wait or come back. When I come in to change my ANC Dip, I make sure that I'm not in a rush because it does take some time - at least one hour. I also make an appointment with my technician of choice for my ANC Dip since it takes a while, and they always honor my appointment when I arrive. I don't generally request anyone specific for a pedicure as the technicians all do a good job with that. The salon is low-key and not fancy - and the prices reflect that - so if you are looking for a serene spa experience you will be disappointed. I keep coming back because the prices are fair, quality is good, and I receive the service that I need - simple as that. Also, they only accept cash but offer an ATM in the back. read more

ive been going to cherry nails for a couple months and was very happy when lynn was doing my nails and I get a dip manicure ! I never had an issue with her doing my nails ! but my last two times ive been there ive had to have someone else do my nails, cause lynn quit !?!?! and I would have the dip on one of my nails off within a day or two ! I will never go there again plus what type of manicure doesn't clean or cut your cuticles?!?!? they charge you $5 extra wen that usually goes with a manicure and I get dip manicure ! plus wen lynn did my nails, my nails could last up to a month without a chip! so now I'm on a hunt for a new nail salon that is worth the money I spend cause I don't spend all this money just to have my nail dip come off the next day or two or I would have painted my own nails for free ! I also forgot to mention how I always get a design and the who I saw last time said he knew exactly what I meant and completely did another one I like the one he did on my right hand but then wen he did my left hand he did a straight sloppy job ! and then was being rude actually he was being rude and awkward the whole time and neglecting me ! and then he got upset wen I told him how the designs didn't look alike cause I was getting the same design on each hand ! but now since lynn isn't there and since she hasn't been there I gave them two more tries and had a different person eachtime and it has tough me that basically they lost a talented employee ! cause now I need to find a new place to get my dip manicure ! and I also forgot to mention how I drove there from Plymouth just cause of lynn the other two types was a waste of gas and money ! read more

I went to Cherry Nails and Spa because I needed a new nail salon and I saw OK reviews for this one. I went several times. On one of my visits, a guy named Mike was doing my nails. I asked for the ANC powder because they are supposed to last 2-3 weeks. My nails after that visit, started chipping after a FEW DAYS only. I was surprised because I had the powder done before and normally they last a few weeks with me. I know what powder nail polish looks like on the nail and I can easily say that guy Mike didn't know what he was doing. After the second layer of powder was applied, he used the rolling nails filer to even out the smoothness of the powder color but while doing so, he shaved off too much of the powder. You could even see my actual nail beneath the color at some parts but the guy mike redid those exact same spots instead of doing the entire nail again. I ended up leaving with basically only ONE very thin coat of powder on my nails once Mike was done. I went back over there 6 days later to ask them if they can fix my nails for no charge because I didn't pay $32 dollars for crappy nails. The guy at booth 1 started off by saying my nails are short. Ok. My nails are short but its because I asked the guy to cut them short because I am a violinist and a pianist so I can't have too long nails. After explaining the story to him he started saying that no I can't be saying that the guy shaved off the color and that I am wrong and that the guys here would't ever do that. He wouldn't even take into consideration that it was obvious that I only had one very thin coat of powder polish. The place was packed and he kept arguing with me making me seem like a liar and HE HAD A COSTUMER WITH HIM!!! I'M SORRY BUT I DON'T APPRECIATE BEING CALLED A LIAR - ESPECIALLY IN FRONT OF OTHER PEOPLE. When I told the guy at booth 1 that I am not a liar and that it really did happen (Mike shaving the top layer off my nails so that they were too thin to even last a week) he started mocking me. I had enough so I ended up walking out and I will never step foot in there again, and neither will my family members. Also, that guy mike who did my nails, he was pressing so hard on my nail with the rolling nail filer it started to hurt - I had to cry out in pain so that he'd stop. My first few visits there were perfect which is why I kept going for a while but after being called a liar and mocked by the old asian guy at the first booth, I can easily say that some people there are so f******g rude. read more

I didn't realize he was going to start cutting my nails and he had cut my finger with the nail clippers. Then he told me I needed to relax and pretty much tried to convince me it was my fault. Then i had asked for my nails to be matte and he hadn't done that either. He did a very sloppy ob and rushed through leaving some nails crooked and the polish very messy. Today a friend and I went in for a pedicure and a manicure at noon. When we arrived there was one lady waiting before us who had left about 10 minutes after our arrival. We checked in since they don't take appointments and picked a color from their horrible collection of drug store polishes and proceeded to wait an HOUR until someone was able to help us. My friend was called to her chair for a pedicure and I continued to wait about 10 minutes while the techs talked and ignored the fact that I was clearly upset about waiting so long, not to mention two other ladies came in after us. Finally I was helped and was sat in a chair near the door and was freezing cold. She took my nail polish off leaving some still on my nails and did my cuticles and whats not, threw some lotion on the top of my hands, just the top, and then began painting. My nails look horrid and I will absolutely NEVER be returning to this nail salon. On the way out, my friend was paying for a $25 pedicure and gave him $40 and he said 'no change?'!!!! Are you kidding me, learn some customer service skills if you are going to be in the industry. read more
