I was a customer for years and loved the Pedicures. My nails always looked great. But things changed. One day I was getting a Pedicure and the lady next to me asked her nail person to get her another bottle of fungus products, so I asked her if she had a fungus and she said yes, so I said so do I. The person next to her also stated she had several toes with a nail fungus and also have two fungus on her nail on both hands. So I said then all three of us have a nail fungus and that is when I noticed they did not sterile their tools other than use alcohol spray on then and put them back in the draw. Then since the product they sold me didn't work I ended up at the doctors an nails pieces were sent to a lab for testing and a prescription product was given to me due to a fungus. We then took off my fake nails on my fingers and under one nail it was almost black and had a bad odor. I had asked the tech several times what was the brown edge on my nail and asked him to remove the fake nail. He never did and now I am told the nail is damaged. read more

Top nails did this to my big toe 3 years ago. When cutting my cuticles, the "nail tech" got a piece of my actual nail in the cuticle cutters. Instead of just letting go, she ripped the snag upwards causing this ridge in my nail. I've been to the podiatrist who said the only way to fix it would be to have my whole entire toenail removed (takes 18 months to grow back so I haven't done it yet). I never wanted to post this because I'm honestly embarrassed of my toenail now, but it makes me so angry every time I look at it I had to share. I got a simple white pedicure here about a week ago and I would definitely recommend going back! There was a man doing my toes who was so fun and energetic and at the end he accidentally wiped some of the polish off with the remover. Never really had any issues.. A few designs they couldn't do because they simply didn't have demand so they didn't have the right products, but I don't see that as their "fault" that's how this area is. My only real suggestion, go early & avoid weekends! read more

From the first impression I got, I thought this was going to be a great salon and experience. It's nice inside and the people were nice too. However, once the lady started doing my nails she was extremely rough and my nails hurt the whole time and still hurt now, almost 8 hours later. I have three cuts on three separate fingers where she got me pretty good. The polish came out nice but I asked for a square shape (which they already were) and she made it look more oval than anything, which I don't care for. Most of them are all cut and filed unevenly. Came here for a gel pedicure. Wasn't a pleasant experience. I had existing gel polish and at first she tried to file it off!!! I was in pain and she filed My skin off and made me bleed!!! I could not relax Any more at this point. She then wrapped my toes in foil...which u are supposed to do to finish taking it off. I bled once more when she was cutting my nails. Do not go there! I walked in and ask if there was anyone available for pedi-mani, the guy said yes they had someone free, told me to choose color and go sit at the pedicure station. The lady then puts my feet in the water and leaves waiting for 20 minutes! So I asked how much longer and he was like " I don't know, as soon as someone finishes!" I was so upset! I had to be somewhere and just spent all that time for nothing! So I left and went to this place called Hollywood Nails on Faunce Corner Road by the rent a car place. MUCH better staff and cleaner facility, they took me right away and were much more pleasant, also the same price! read more

Before today, I've gone here about 3 or 4 times. Once to get acrylics, which a male technician did. He did an okay job and was able to crack a joke that I no longer had "man hands" any more... I took it with a grain of salt. Went back a couple weeks later to get a mani-pedi and the lady who had me kept trying to get me to do the same flower design on my toes that my friend was doing. It was still February, I don't like the design, and it was an annoying way to try to get me to spend more money. Whatever though, I laughed it off. Today, I went in to remove the gel powder nails that I've been getting filled for about 2 months now at a different place. When the lady realized I wanted them removed, she suddenly had an atittude. She even asked, "you don't know how to do at home?" I should have gotten up right there, but I didn't. Obviously I don't know how without screwing up, hurting myself, or making them look terrible! That is why I'm paying MONEY to have that done. Then she complained about my sweaty palms, something that I can't help. She said "you nervoussss" in a critical way. I said "YES, this hurts very much but I do not complain, instead I sweat." It hurt like hell. She continued to comment on how ugly my nails are now that I don't have the tips. They asked why I was removing such pretty nails and I said I am going to play a violin song for my grandmother's birthday. The male technician who helped her to show how to take them off said "what song, Jingle bells?" I was all set. Finally she asked me to have my toes repainted because we weren't going to put color on my frail nails. I said ok, knowing that it would be extra. The removal, with clear coat, plus toe paint cost me $30. I tipped her 8 bucks and contemplated mentioning I would never come back again. I might go back if I feel like being made fun of, but I will never have that technician EVER again. These people are assholes. read more

I'm always sketchy going to new nail shops. I'm from Cali and I have been getting my nails done by the same person for 10 years. I was impressed. They weren't too expensive and they did a good job on my nails and my pedi. They didn't try and change my mind on what I wanted and they listened to me. read more

I'm not sure what people are complaining about. All the staff there are friendly. I got seated within 15 min on a weekend without an appointment. Nika (sp?) did my spa pedicure and did a fabulous job! I've been to alot of nail salons over the last 20 years and trust me, I am very picky, but this place has their act together and I would highly recommend it! read more

The salon workers were very rude and my manicure was horrible. It was painful and rushed. The skin around my nails are still irritated 3 days later, and they started to bleed during the service. They gave me painful hangnails. The polish is done sloppily and looks as if a 5 y/o did it. Do not recommend. read more

This place is terrible. The staff is extremely rude, they have no care about there clients, nothing. I paid to have a full set put on. They put every nail on crooked. They are all different sizes and shapes. The polish is even worse, it's all over my cuticles and spots on my nails were missed. They were extremely mean telling people they are stupid and an idiot the entire time. I just wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Worse experience. The girl cut my foot because she wasn't paying attention. The price is not worth what they charge for the job they do. I get my nails done because I like having neat, manicured digits. I think it's an aesthetic necessity if you're prone to hangnails (I am) and like the whole relaxation aspect of a trip to the salon. There was nothing relaxing about my visit to Top Nails this week. Nothing. I was seated quickly and worked with a woman who spent the majority of my visit on her cell phone while she worked with me. She texted with one hand while using the tool to cut excess skin from my cuticles, nipping them with the sharp edges. She did not clean the tool once while using it and allowed it to build up dead skin while she worked. When she was actually painting my nails she used her cell phone on speaker to chat with someone, drowning out the sounds of the television and the other clients trying to talk to people. A child ran around the facility the entire time, once hitting me with a duster while it played. The same child sat in the nail tech's chair and played with the tools on the table while my gel was setting and the tools were removed from her hands and put back into the kit with the other clean ones after. I will never, ever go back to Top Nails and with business practices like they have I can't imagine the Board of Health will let them stay open much longer any way. read more

The place I usually go to was packed on this previous Sunday, so my friend & I decided to try here. We came in & were seated pretty much immediately which is awesome. One girl started right away on my friend & I sat for 15 minutes (wtf?) before a girl came out of the back room & started on me. She made absolutely NO effort to make sure my nails were filed straight after I even said please file them. I got the impression the entire time that she was in a rush to get me done. She put the polish on fine, looks fine, I'm happy with it. When it came time to put lotion on my arms, she was SO rough, that my arms are actually IN PAIN today. I don't know whether she was trying to massage me or what, but she was being extremely rough & it was an all around awful experience & I most likely won't be returning. When paying, I gave her my debit card & a $20 bill, I said please pay with my card, and give me $15 back & you can keep $5 for the tip. She gave me back $20 & I didn't notice until I already got home, so she also lost out on a tip for not LISTENING. read more

Very rude. I was going to Andy for a year for UV gel, he always ended with polish and then a top coat of gel for 30. I was saving for 8 months and went back and the price was now 35. Fine, but Andy wasnt in so Tony did them. He was persistent on me getting shellac and since im simple and just like my nails neat I stayed with polish. He did an awful job and then attempted to put polish top coat. I said Andy & everywhere else tops with gel. He shrugged and sain "no, 10 dollars more!" wow....thats what he would have gotten if he got me to go with shellac. I paid 50 dollars for gel tips!!! Insane!! RIP OFF! I drive for a living & in 2 days the edges chipped on 4 nails. I feel he did it intentionally so I'd spend more next time or come back and get fixed. They do not lotion or massage either. I moved from another state and visit Florida, NY, Canada and have never had my nails done without a lotion massage...ever. So carry some lotion for ride home, will be dry as hell. So many other places do better & treat customers right. Not worth it. read more
