Five stars for all the right reasons. Dr. Afsharzand has repeatedly provided dental care to me and my six (now-adult) children for over two decades. Her credentials, including teaching at The University of Pennsylvania for 20 years, should be more than enough to convince anyone to commit themselves to her care, yet it is other aspects of her practice that I have learned to most most appreciate. First, is her compassion to address the concerns of her patients, not just financial considerations, but those that involve each patients different levels of comfort during procedures. She always asks how you are doing. If you are not comfortables, she makes sure that you are. She does not make you feel as if you are just another car going through the car wash. She takes her time with you. Secondly, her work is impeccable. Her forte is the art of dentistry not just the her extensive knowledge. It takes much more than a formal education to create an excellent dentist. There is an important artistic aspect and intuitive sense that raises one doctor above another. Dr. Afsharzand has those often overlooked attributes. Thirdly, is she will spend the extra time with you explaining with photographs and x-rays of your own teeth as to what needs to be addressed and why it is important. Fourthly, is the equipment that she uses in her office. She stays very current with the modern advancements in technology. Lastly, is the considerate and affable nature of the rest of the her team. They are all very concerned about each patient's' well-being, both within and outside of the office walls. They care about you. I went to Dr. A determined to have my teeth pulled for dentures. I was tired of years of poor dentistry failing and needing to be done over and over. By the time I found Dr A, my teeth were cracked, chipped, broken, with different shades of white fillings. I stopped smiling. Dr. A didn't share my vision. She said the roots were solid and worth saving and that she could bring back my smile and more. I decided to trust her and I am extremely happy that I did. I got all the tops capped, 2 bottom caps and 2 implants. The implants were amazingly easy. It's been a couple years now and my teeth look great, feel great, and there has not been a single issue. I go for cleanings and they keep them looking great. I get compliments. I can eat what I want. I don't hesitate to smile. People don't get how a smile matters till they lose theirs. Dr A does. She is a very talented dentist. Her work is outstanding. She is very efficient and gets a lot done so it doesn't require excessive visits. Her staff are all professional and skilled at what they do. EXCELLENT CARE. I cannot say enough about Dr A and her dental practice. This is by far the best dental (or medical) practitioner I have ever been to. Everyone I have seen at this office has been top notch, from the front desk to the hygienists and dental assistants to Dr. A. Very good at checking in with the patient and helping manage discomfort or anxiety. Due to some poor experiences with other dentists, I had not had any dental care for more than ten years. At my first visit, Dr A and her hygienist were very gentle, and set up a schedule to get my overdue work done. The front office was incredibly helpful, and helped me figure out my dental insurance and benefits. Its now been several years since my first visit, and my teeth and mouth are in great shape. I love this place! The hygienists are all professional and friendly. The office supper staff is also responsive and ready to help you with scheduling or billing issues. And of course Dr. Zahra is top notch! I switched to this practice a couple of years ago after having issues with my gums and dental implants. I was told by another practice that I needed gum grafts and new implants. Thankfully I sought a second opinion. My old practice just wasn't doing a good job at cleaning my implants. One visit to this practice and I was fixed right up. No gum grafts needed. Just one good cleaning and I've never had another issue since. I even got new veneers, caps, and whitening here over the past year. Again, it all went perfectly and I'm very happy with my new smile. I highly recommend this practice! read more

Recently decided to change dental offices for one closer to home. After looking into a few in the area, I came across this little office. I was a patient of my previous dental office for many years and never thought I would be able to find another as good. I was right. Only, this office is not as good as my previous, it's BETTER! The location feels very homey and inviting. The hygienist asked me to select the type of music I wanted to listen to while she cleaned my teeth. The front desk receptionist was very friendly and understanding. She explained everything I needed to know and even gave me a quick tour. Dr. A is an excellent dentist. My wife recommended these folks to me a couple of years ago, and I have been extremely happy with their work. It had been a long time since I'd given much attention to my teeth. I've had a lot of restorative work done over the past two years, including crowns and two implants, and have had no problems. The implants came in on time and on budget.
