Massive Ripoff, Smug Gaslighting Cashier. Charged my $88.00 to fix a flat tire. It needed a new…read moretube - fine - but that is still a huge ripoff. But I'm leaving this review because of the snotty cashier interaction after I paid the bill. This is exactly how it went down: Me: "You know, 90 bucks to fix a flat is really expensive." Him: "It wasn't 90 bucks." Me: "Dude - you just charged me 90 bucks." Him: "Yeah but that includes the $45 safety check." Me: "I didn't want the safety check." Him: "You signed off on it!" Me: "Because you said it was mandatory - I didn't need it." Him: "It IS mandatory." Me: "Then don't tell me I didn't pay 90 bucks to fix a flat!!!" Him: "I'm sorry you feel that way." (With a big gaslighting grin on his face the whole time.) This shop is a MASSIVE RIPOFF and they GASLIGHT THEIR CUSTOMERS. I won't be coming back, and I'll be spreading the word. UPDATE: Apparently I cannot reply to the business owner's response, so I'll post my reply here. So on top of the gaslighting, we can add lying, too. "Choice words?" I was perfectly polite and I recounted VERBATIM the exchange. People can judge for themselves. All of the additional detail in the response is completely irrelevant - but thanks for doxxing with personal details, pal. I already stated that the tube needed to be replaced. I choose the CHEAPEST possible way to fix the tire, which included your ripoff $45 mandatory safety check. Which is just a money grab, pure and simple. But I can live with the occasional ripoff. What I cannot abide is being gaslit after the fact. Pretending that it didn't cost me 90 bucks to fix a flat because half that price was a MANDATORY and totally unnecessary money grab "safety check" is BAD BUSINESS.

I don't have a lot of knowledge about most of what they offer, so my review is strictly in reference to the small area of the store I'm familiar with. When it comes to piano music, Senseney has everything a beginner needs. I decided to pick up the piano as an adult and use a self-teaching book, which I found at Senseney. This was recommended by the sweet and wonderful Ms. DeAnn. I had almost finished the book, but I felt like I needed more reenforcement of what I had learned before moving on, and she again came to the rescue, recommending several wonderful books. The books she pointed me towards are perfect, and not just because she's suggesting random books. Instead, she took the time to ask me where I was at in my learning, what I hoped to focus on, and what my general learning style was. She's definitely familiar with all the different piano curriculum, because she was able to locate two fantastic series that have been perfect for me. When one book in the series was out of stock, she ordered it to the store for me, and it arrived promptly. The prices of music books here are also excellent as well -- cheaper than the popular online book sellers, in most cases. While I can't recommend Senseney for most of what they offer - for example, I'm not really sure how competitive they are in terms of instrument rentals or percussion music - I can definitely recommend them for their piano music, due in large part to their wonderful staff and low prices.

It seems to be a busy shop considering all the bikes in the repair or tune up department. Kind of reminds me of the bike repair shops in Denmark, just a little bigger. We ride a lot and push for more paths and bicycle friendly streets here in Wichita, as it is with the more progressive cities across America. These establishments encourage cycling therefore we like to support them. You might be able to save a couple dollars at Wallmart, but it's not worth it. Shopping here and chatting with the owner is just fun, and if you need a tuneup this is the place to go. Some of the sporting good stores offer this but your likely to end up worse off than you were. Point is, trust your safety to the professionals.

Midwest Drum is a fantastic music shop! They have way more than just drum supplies and if they…read moredon't have something you need they'll help send you in the right direction. The store is clean and organized, which makes is very easy to browse around. I definitely prefer Midwest over any national chain, not only just because they are local, but they're also conveniently located near College Hill right on Douglas. The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. I've never walked in and not been greeted with a smile. They have a cork board right next to their entrance that is covered in posters for all sorts of rad local events and concerts, so you'll never miss out. They offer lessons and have even hosted workshops and meet and greets with some of the top professional drummers in the world. It really is a cool place.
