Do NOT make an online order with Scheels... what a freaking nightmare…read more We ordered a $700 item that their website said was "In Stock"... so, to be on the safe side, I called the store to verify that they, in fact, did have that product in stock... the guy I talked to assured me that they did have the item. So, I placed the order...mere minutes after placing the order (paying for the item for store pickup) we received an email saying it was "out of stock" but that they had one at another store that would be shipped to the Wichita store, but would take 7-10 days. Needless to say, we were not happy! 13 days later, the Wichita store FINALLY got this item back in stock (according to their website). So, I called the store again and spoke to an individual who assured me (again) that they did have the item in the store. So, I asked if our existing online order could be filled by the item they currently had in the store...(no brainer, right?). He said, after checking with management, that we would need to cancel our existing order, then they would set the item aside and we could come in, pay for it, and pick it up. Of course, that meant we were at the mercy of their refund process (which took 5 days, btw), so we were out $1400 until they decided to refund our money. We picked up the item later that same day with no more hassle...thank God! Never, ever, again will we make an online order from Scheels... we like the store, but my goodness, for an employee owned company, one would think they would take more pride in their customer service.

Bought $180 worth of apparel for my son for Christmas. She told me yes and just to make sure I saved the receipt. Sure enough, I should have trusted my gut, the coat and shirts were way too big. Without delay, took my son Dec 26th at 10am (opening) to the mall to return the items and find him something he wanted. I watched as they moved a sign from behind the counter to the front of the register that had their "return policy" on it, which was NOT clearly posted PRIOR to Christmas! Their return policy (now after Christmas) is "in store credit" only on returns...... So now, I have $180 in store credit for my son that won't fit anything they sell. So in order to ensure he had a decent Christmas, I had to purchase what he wanted out of pocket, still with a useless $180 store credit to Superstar Sports..... I'm all about shopping at local business's but I will NEVER shop here again! They don't care about their customers, just money hungry. Half their crap is way overpriced anyway!
