When this picture was taken I just finished 3200 miles in four months and I just turned 60 thanks bicycle exchange

The customer service, the equipment, the bikes, the overall availability of exactly what an avid bike rider needs is right here at Bicycle exchange ! Thanks Mike, Pat, Max, Adam, Ethan, Jack, Mike! Wheels up!

Kinked Derailleur Cable

I was in a bad wreck, and initially their service department took care of me with the replacement parts, which I appreciated. I picked up my bike and the shifting wasn't working right, so I brought it back and left it with them for a week to diagnose and correct. When I picked it up and test rode it, shifting was not improved. I brought it back. They checked it and I test rode again, same day, still no improvement. They said they test rode it and that it was "shifting good enough" and that if I wanted crisp shifting I would need an electronic drivetrain, which is silly to say since this bike was shifting great before the wreck, and their Package 3 Pro Rebuild says "Fine tune and perfect your shifting." I asked for them to check it again, which they did, also same day. I rode it home with still no noticeable improvement in the shifting. I took it to Bicycle Pedaler in town to see if they could diagnose and resolve it. They determined the replacement cable was kinked, causing the issue, along with finding other adjustments that were not done correctly. I asked Bike X-Change to reimburse me for the cost of the other shop fixing their incorrect repair work and was told no because "I should have brought it back to them" even after giving them 4 chances to fix the issue.

I just got into biking 3 years ago and it is probably one best ideas I have had! They offer all kinds of bikes from casual comfort, trail, street/road, to everything else in-between those options. I own a Trek hybrid that is great for on and off the road. I can't catch those super high speeds on the road like a road bike but that's ok because I love taking my bike over to Millers Meadow South East Wichita, KS. I always appreciate their honesty. If you don't like wha they suggest they always have other suggestions to help you find what you want. If you don't want to buy something brand new you can also check out their used shop.

They Scratched it up So they took a sharpie to it!

Mike is the rudest of business owner I've ever met in my life! He's only kind if you spend thousands, honestly. Take pics of your bike BEFORE you take it in. We purchased a brand new bike & I took my bike in and paid almost $400 to have it serviced up and it came out with a huge enormous scratch through the stainless steel. They were INCREDIBLY rude and I would not ever buy anything from here again. MIKE the owner the is the ABSOLUTE WORST! I will NEVER service or buy anything from here again.

Just avoid the owner. Rude and mean. He gives a bad name to shopping locally. His employees seem good.

Friendly people that know what they are doing. I've had my bike serviced there several times and would recommend them to a friend.

Patrick and the team at Bicycle X-Change were just great at getting me setup with my new Felt bike.

Bicycle Pedaler - In this photo, you can see that the rubber brake pad that the "mechanic" tried to puch back in place didn't even contact the rim squarely.

Very POOR experience with this shop on a simple bike repair…read more I took my bike in to the Bicycle Pedaler in Wichita, Kansas, for a new tube. The teenager who was supposedly the "bike mechanic" on duty wasn't sure which direction to turn the nuts to loosen the wheel and turned them the wrong way at first. Then he had a lot of trouble getting the rim out of the frame. After he got the new tube installed, he inflated the tire to full pressure and then tried to force it back into place on the frame, ripping a brake pad loose from the caliper. He half-heartedly pressed the pad back on, but it was not secure. At that point, the brake pads weren't aligned to press on the rim on both sides - one was actually pressing on the tire, until I mentioned that it should press on the RIM. I was watching all this but he never admitted to accidentally busting the rubber brake pad loose. When I got home, I had to get the rim straight in the frame again, adjust the derailleur (which would not shift smoothly after the "mechanic" replaced the tube), and for safety reasons, I put a new set of brake pads on the calipers. As you can see from the photos, the "mechanic's" attempt to reinsert the pad did not re-seat it securely and NO WAY was I going to rely on that to stop with when it looked like the pad could come out. Considering my own time to fix the issues my bike had from being "repaired" by this shop, plus the cost of a new pair of brake pads, and I should have just installed the new tube myself. No plans to go back to the Bicycle Pedaler.

Once again the staff did an amazing job upgrading my bike and provided me with outstanding service…read more I highly recommend this bike shop, it's the best in town.

Attention all trans-am cyclists.... Avoid this place if you can! One of the worst shops I've been…read moreto while crossing the country. I took my bike to the shop in Great Bend, KS to get a new left shifter and cable while on a 4700 mile cross country cycling trip. They didn't have the part, but called Harley's in Hutch and confirmed they had the part. We rolled in to the shop the next morning between 10 and 11 and told them we wanted to get rolling and try to get in 50 or 60 miles in the afternoon. They told me the fix wouldn't be done until mid to late afternoon; but probably before they closed at 4. So we were stuck waiting around in Hutchinson. They also have employ a bunch of super young guys as "bike mechanics" that don't seem to know what they're doing (if they do anything at all). Other shops' mechanics drop everything they're working on if you're riding cross country. Not here. I had to get new grip tape too (partly for comfort, partly to get access to put on the new shifter). By the time the job was done it cost me almost 300 bucks... Granted a shifter is an expensive part but most shops we've been in while riding give us a deal on repairs because they know the bikes take a beating. We don't want to be taken advantage of when misfortune comes our way. Two days later while in Missouri the shifter came loose. I also noticed it wasn't even with the other one originally on the bike too. Easy fix for me but now the grip tape is off because I had to move the shifter. Again easy fix for me but the fact that I had to do it at all is ridiculous. The work is sloppy, they take a long time, and it's expensive. If you absolutely have to go to a shop in Hutch, go to Bikes and More on N 30th between the 500 and 700 block. Don't waste your time or money here.
