They have a gym and a nice pool with jacuzzi sauna and steam room. There is lots of food! I love the food at this place, they do good cooked breakfast with very smart waiters and again, great fun to hang out with when you are stuck at a hotel for a period of time. The TV got knocked out once, annoying but it is an old place, and I was staying in the bit they were about to sell. The living room is so cool! They have Tennyson and other famous Brits all on the walls and nice furnishings and carpet. WIFI! I debated giving this four stars because the decor in my room was horrific - yellow wallpaper and low hung ceiling supports, plus a bit of weird mold in the shower. However, I did stay for one night in the other end of the hotel, and that was great, clean and even had windows (they were tiny in my room unfortunately). Since I know they are getting rid of that bit and no one else will likely have to stay in it for too much longer I give this place five stars. It's a lot of fun and extremely accommodating.

I've stayed here at least 6 times in the last 15 years & the standard of accommodation is 1st rate as are the cooked breakfasts - just the job to set up a day's walking, cycling or driving around this delightful island! Carol & Paul Hallums run The Lodge & go beyond the call of duty to make guests feel welcome & help advise on local events or attractions. Well worth a visit! There's a bus stop close by - Vectis Buses run a reliable service across the island & a week's pass that includes the open-top tour buses costs £20 each with family tickets also available.

This is - in my opinion - one of those places you have to visit before you die. Preferably on a…read morenice sunny day in the warm months. The pub is steeped in history and that is reflected in the well kept but near un-touched interior. They have some great ales on tap and all are served with a friendly smile and, if not too busy, are happy to talk through some of the pub's history. The garden here in the summer is fantastic. The views are breath-taking and they run a barbecue every Sunday which of course, does attract a huge crowd so either get there early or have some extra bags of patience with you. We head there without fail once a year with a big group of friends and spend the whole afternoon eating and drinking beer, I highly advise you to do the same!

We paid £65 for the two of us sharing a room which included a fried breakfast Some of our friends stayed in a chain hotel down the road and paid something closer to £100 per room not including breakfast. The owners were ever so polite, friendly and accommodating, even when my friend broke their shower! The room we stayed in was small, however this is wasn't a problem because we were only staying one night. They also appeared to have larger rooms which would accommodate someone staying for a longer period. The bedroom was immaculate, as was the rest of the house I think possibly they have very recently refurbished the bathroom and kitchen as they looked new. I had a lovely nights sleep, and although we got back to the B&B at 02.30 in the morning, the owners very kindly gave us a key to quietly let ourselves in. Overall a lovely, clean place in a quiet area that benefits from a personal touch that is sadly missing from larger places. Almost a shame that I have no more nights in Guildford planned!

We booked a double and a single room for 2 nights; to cut it short, we arrived late but caretaker…read more(when she arrived 10 minutes later) could not find the keys to let us in the house, three attempts later we found the double room had ancient bed linen on the duvet and we felt dirty even sitting on the bed never mind climbing into it. The furniture was from the 1970s with a well worn, leatherette parker knoll chair, a stand alone shower cubicle stood against the wall and the TV was the smallest one ever seen. The general feel of the room suggested an air of a very unloved OAP who had been put out to pasture in the local nursing home some many years before. The single room, was located in an adjacent property, go figure! The room's main light fitting did not work so it was not possible to even see the bed and state of the room never mind view the TV or drinks facilities. The bathroom was shared and the kitchen looked like it had seen better days as well.

In terms of location, there are several shops, restaurants, cafes, laundromats, pharmacies, and grocery stores for convenience. Deepa is just a wonderful caring person and is briliant in how she operates her bed-and-breakfast. She puts out a great spread for breakfast every morning which is delicious, fresh, and scrumptious. Make sure you get one of her special croissants. Rooms are very well cleaned and has all the conveniences you would need which include a comfortable bed, a private bathroom/shower, a TV, and a closet to name a few. There is also a common area on the second floor where you could lounge to relax, use the computer, the kitchen, and mingle with other travelers. I highly recommend this place to anyone traveling to London. I plan to stay here on my next trip.

Enjoyed the stay immensely and the only thing I regret is not being able to stay longer... Oh, and one more thing - absolutely fantastic home-made muffins we got with a breakfast - baked in the morning, still warm when we came down ! If I'm going to be in that part of England I will stay there again. More than sure.

It turned out to be just what I had hoped to find, charmingly unpretentious, run by a warm and friendly couple of guys who were helpful in every way, from picking me up at the train station to helping me work out transportation to and from the performances and for my travel back (I decided to stay on 2 days after the operas, to get in a bit of local sightseeing and they were helpful there too) . The food was simple and tasty, and they made an effort to please individual tastes and needs. The room was simple and comfortable, with a charming view from the window of the downs, and the bed just great. No great chandeliers and snootiness, just friendliness, helpfulness and calm, exactly what I was looking for. I certainly will go back if my good fortune takes me back to that part of the world
