Book direct with the hotel for complimentary breakfast and parking. Don't have a car? The hotel staff arranged car-for-hire for us. The walk to the town center and train station is about 10 minutes. Keep in mind that you're in the Surrey hills, so wear your walking shoes. The hotel was modern and clean. If you have mobility issues, there are 5 steps at the hotel entrance, but easy access to several rooms on the main floor. Our room was quiet (we stayed in Millmead). We opened the windows at night and heard birdsong in the morning.

In terms of location, there are several shops, restaurants, cafes, laundromats, pharmacies, and grocery stores for convenience. Deepa is just a wonderful caring person and is briliant in how she operates her bed-and-breakfast. She puts out a great spread for breakfast every morning which is delicious, fresh, and scrumptious. Make sure you get one of her special croissants. Rooms are very well cleaned and has all the conveniences you would need which include a comfortable bed, a private bathroom/shower, a TV, and a closet to name a few. There is also a common area on the second floor where you could lounge to relax, use the computer, the kitchen, and mingle with other travelers. I highly recommend this place to anyone traveling to London. I plan to stay here on my next trip.

We had already walked all over Winchester, we were on our way to Stonehenge, we were excited and hungry, but also jet lagged and exhausted! Jill brought us to The White Lion joking that, being only 400 years old, it was practically a brand new pub! We came in (mind your head), and were immediately sat down at a big, groaning, family table! Water was served, beers and ciders followed, and then meat pies and fish and chips were ordered all around! This meal was absolutely delicious in the way that only homemade country pub food can be. The cider selection was excellent, and we left refreshed, happy, and ready to take on the rest of our day (mind you, we ALL passed out cold in the van after Stonehenge and on the way back to our hotel)! Located less than 5 mins from motorway so in a ideal location for people who have work to do down south.Price can not fault cheapest I have spent on a hotel in the surronding areas off the M25 Motorway. So all in all a very pleasent stay and should I be working that way again this would be my first port of call for a stop over.

They have a gym and a nice pool with jacuzzi sauna and steam room. There is lots of food! I love the food at this place, they do good cooked breakfast with very smart waiters and again, great fun to hang out with when you are stuck at a hotel for a period of time. The TV got knocked out once, annoying but it is an old place, and I was staying in the bit they were about to sell. The living room is so cool! They have Tennyson and other famous Brits all on the walls and nice furnishings and carpet. WIFI! I debated giving this four stars because the decor in my room was horrific - yellow wallpaper and low hung ceiling supports, plus a bit of weird mold in the shower. However, I did stay for one night in the other end of the hotel, and that was great, clean and even had windows (they were tiny in my room unfortunately). Since I know they are getting rid of that bit and no one else will likely have to stay in it for too much longer I give this place five stars. It's a lot of fun and extremely accommodating.
