In other words, he'd prefer a close, clean cut like my hubby's shaved head over the long, thick coat that he was graced with in order to withstand cold weather. In other words, it's miserable. I recently had extensive health issues hit, and my pup had to miss his regular grooming appointment. (Groomer couldn't fit him in for another six weeks or so.) We tried to make it, but The Scrapinator was miserable. I messaged Alison desperate for an appointment. She checked the calendar the next day, and then got Scrappy in the day after that. From head to toe, not only is Scrap more comfortable and resting better, but there was no judgment whatsoever from Alison. Just a simple, "No worries." We have his next appointment for March 18, the day before his 13th birthday. Thank you, Alison. Scrappy is rockin' his new look! On an added note: After reading the comment below, I can't help but wonder how matted the pup was. Scrappy was pretty matted. Considering he's never outside other than on a leash, it still happened. We were pretty nervous about leaving our 3 standard poodles in someone else's care, even for a…read morecouple of nights. They had never been left like that and we didn't know how they -or we - would feel about it. We searched, visited and searched some more, then we heard about Fetch! ... and are we happy we did. Cathy and her staff are very professional and screen their customers (boarders) carefully for all their immunizations and general health. It's important to take your dog in to meet them and see the facility ahead of their stay - it made all the difference for our dogs and they made themselves - ahem - right at home. Here's why we chose Fetch! and would do so again. The place is spic and span clean - no stink. The dogs are kept in private areas rather than confined to runs and those areas can be adjusted in size according to the dog's (or, in our case, our 3 dogs') needs. Our three were kept together and we were allowed to bring their crates and bedding (they're accustomed to sleeping in their crates) and even a small rug. Cathy has a good selection of clean toys and all the dogs get personal attention all day. Play times are interspersed with quiet time. One thing that especially reassured us is that Cathy has an apartment in the building and STAYS OVERNIGHT WITH THE DOGS. They are never left unattended. She knows people, too, and sent us a text to let us know all was well. We don't travel much these days and when we do we usually take our pups but if we need overnight boarding again we will definitely choose Fetch!
