I never had any dealings with the owner until recently with my 3 new cats that I got after my senior died. I always dealt with the associates, never the owner of the practice. Got bad vibes from him. Nevertheless, pressed on. He allowed me to spend $1000 all the while knowing the cat would require special needs for the rest of its life. This after I initially brought him in for a checkup and a health acessment to see if I should keep him ($400). He mentioned in passing a condition the cat had but did not explain fully the amount of care needed or expense involved in the care. Also his definition of "a couple of hundred bucks" is very different from mine!!!! ($500!!!!!). So I'mbe now invested $1000 already and the treatment and $$$$ is continuing to mount. I was told further meds would be needed. I asked for an estimate first. Instead, I was called and told that they were ready forr pu. Called and was told meds would be $131on top of the $1000 already paid!!!!! And that there was no end in sight!!!! I feel this could have been avoided by a more honest and thorough explanation of what was involved with my pet's condition . Instead he was vague and allowed me to continue to spend $$$ that wasn't needed. Also with the same pet, he dissed the county neuter program claiming they were not held to the same standard as he is in giving pain meds after neutering. This did not sit well with me and called to talk to the SNIP folks about this and found it was not true. A true $$$$ grab. This left a very bad taste in my mouth and just confirmed the bad vibes I got from this guy. Will go elsewhere from now on. After 5 years I shall be leaving this practice

I always let them know that my girl "went to school" to learn some tasks. We have a line of communication and can get questions answered afterwards. We even have Val and Caleb board our dogs when we take trips out of the country and cannot take them. Run, do not walk, to book your appointment to get your dog(s) trained at Guiding Canine's. We have 2 Mini-Australian Shepherds and one is very fear reactive as he was attacked on trails many times as a young puppy. We had other trainers tell us our male dog would never live a normal life and could never be around other dogs or children. Guiding Canines took the time to understand our dogs and create a meticulous training plan! They simulated real life situations since we had a baby on the way with noisy toys, crying dolls, strollers... the WORKS! We are so grateful for them! Our dogs did really well with the arrival of our son thanks to Guiding Canines! We stayed in contact with them and just moved to the East Coast. We were so excited to be near Guiding Canines again! They have taken care of our dogs and setup a follow-up training schedule while we get our house settled. They're extremely flexible but always keep the dogs best interest at the forefront. Recently, they helped facilitate a vet visit for one of our pups to get checked out. I highly recommend this team because they are truly phenomenal! We are forever grateful for them for allowing our dog to live a "normal life"!
