Egg roll had more pork than other Chinese restaurants and the green beans were so good and a large portion. I highly recommend the spicy boiled fish, house special lomain, and salt and pepper shrimp. All cooked to perfection and once again, generous portions. We had enough leftovers for 4 or 5 lunches. Super quick and friendly service. My new favorite stop when we visit Houston. Pretty typical Chinese restaurant atmosphere. Love the large round family tables.

I decided to give this restaurant another chance, but it will not happen again. Today I decided to…read moredo an order to go, and I got a small wonton soup, pork egg rolls, and barbecue pork rice. The soup had the blandest taste I've ever had in wonton soup. The dumplings were filled with like a minced meat. It was very strange because minced meat is not supposed to be inside a wonton. The broth was just flavorless and not great. The pork egg roll was definitely from Sam's Club. It's the normal pork egg rolls that you get from every other place that you're going to try. Just not good. The barbecue pork rice was made with no flavor or salt or pepper or anything. I just couldn't eat it. So needless to say, I've given this place three chances and there will not be a fourth. Now, on a positive note, the owner was super nice and friendly. Like, he has some of the best customer service that I've gotten in a lot of restaurants these days. However, they really, really need to work on their seasoning of their food. It just was not good.

Today, I tried the Golden Hot and Sour Rice Noodle, while my husband ordered the Original Hot Pork Fried Noodle and takoyaki. I will be quite honest with you that I really have no experience with Malaysian food. In point of…read morefact, I've bypass this restaurant numerous times simply assuming that it was Chinese. It is anything but in point of fact, it is in my estimation, a unique culinary experience. I don't write from the perspective of comparing this food to other Malaysian dishes that I've had in point of fact to the best of my recollection I don't think that I've ever had Malaysian cuisine. But if this restaurant is an example, I have missed a great deal. The food is very unique the servings are very gracious charitable. The prices are incredibly reasonable given the distinction of this particular cuisine and given the portions and quality of food that is served. The service is quite simple and the restaurant is actually quite small. However, I must tell you from A service perspective. It's truthfully amazing because the takeout business is extremely active. Not to mention the fact that the chef walks out and speaks to people will share anything that you want to know about Malaysian food and obviously from the quality of the food that I ate not only is his explanation thorough but my guess is his skills are incredible. As I said it is very small so it's difficult to Alpine about the ambience other than it was quite clean and given the number of whom I suspect were Malaysian people it's obviously quite popular within that community. So I take that to be a sign that this food is quite native in nature. I had a pork meal, which is only on Sundays. I spoke to the chef about it, and he explained that the preparation started one day in advance of actually serving the meal, so I understand why it is only served once a week. Although I must tell you because I lack familiarity it seemed to me that I would be hours and hours trying to replicate any of the dishes. All I can tell you is this if you are in an exploratory mood for a cuisine and have had or have not had Malaysian before I suspect this is a place to go. Quite informal, extremely fair pricing very generous portions great service very pleasant people and frankly it's a a family affair of what you will see many when you go. Quite a lovely experience.

Service was spot on, quick, and we got our food in what felt like maybe a few minutes. We started off with pork dumplings for the kiddo, which he INHALED in moments. For entrees, we split the orange chicken and the Spicy/Numbing Pot. The orange chicken was spot on. The sauce was sweet but not painfully sweet or thick/clumpy. Really nice orange flavor and tender chicken. So much fun eating it since it is gluten free! Our kiddo also devoured this dish! Mild - not spicy at all! The Spicy Numbing Pot, while a little oily/greasy on the bottom, was still delicious! I appreciated that it wasn't knock your socks off spicy - it had a solid kick, and so flavorful. I love eating dishes with Sichuan Pepper; it has a lot of flavor, and the tingling is so much fun. This dish was perfect with some rice, and it wasn't too heavy for the middle of the day. The prices were really reasonable, and there was enough food for leftovers which we ate later that night. Our only regret is not getting the duck appetizer, but we will be sure to get it next time. The red char siu was on the sweeter side, which caught me by surprise at first. The XO sauce stir fried noodle rolls were flavorful and chewy, while the salt and pepper crispy squid added a nice salty, savory component to the meal. The soft shell crab fried rice was a bit bland on its own, but it balanced out the stronger flavors of the other dishes. Overall, the food came out quickly, and everything tasted good. They have an extensive menu, and I'd definitely come back to try some of their other dishes!

We ordered couple dishes family style: Stir fried cabbage - 5/5, surprisingly my favorite dish of the meal. The cabbage was cooked perfectly with just the right amount of crunch, the subtle numbing pepper added a refreshing and addictive kick. Simple but perfect. Salt and pepper crispy seafood - 4.5/5, the runner up for me. The seafood was fresh, the batter was light and crispy, and the salt and pepper seasoning was spot on. Peking duck two way - 4/5, the duck is roasted well, however, the sauce was a little too sweet for my taste. Instead of the usual low effort duck soup, the duck came with salt and pepper duck carcass which was crispy and delicious. Egg tofu with dried scallop sauce - 2.5/5, this was pretty bland compared to other dishes and didn't stand out. The service was a bit slow, probably because we had a late lunch, close to staffs' midday break. That said, the staffs were friendly, and we really enjoyed the food.
