My Canadian husband requested a smoked meat sandwich when we flew into Montréal. Stopped here and were not disappointed. The sandwich was classic Montréal. The poutine had good flavor and the cheese curds were slightly melted, just the way I like. The prices seemed a bit high but in a post Covid world it seems as if everything is overpriced.

Had their classic poutine. It was a decent portion and tasted pretty good. The issues were that there was a LOT of gravy...now, i love gravy, but this was almost soupy...i almost wished i had a spoon to pick things up easier. The gravy tasted pretty basic, just that classic salty, hot, slightly tangy stuff that you get with pretty much any standard fast food poutine place. I really was not a fan of the fries though. They were definitely from frozen, and had this powdery texture that I really disliked. They weren't crispy or golden enough for my taste. It basically tasted like a fast food poutine. Service was pretty good and i had no issues with that. He was prompt and polite and gave me ketchup without judgement. But the texture of the fries...that just made me sad. I would go back to try some of the things they are famous for though, like the smoked meat or the combo platters.

It was snowing and many restaurants were closing early (between 9 & 10 pm) on a Wednesday night. So where do you go if you want Smoked Meat in these conditions? Chenoy's of course! I've been here before for lunch & this time it was quite empty around 10 pm. It has a Diner feel to it with counter top seating in front & booth seating throughout. The Smoked Meat Sandwich is not the best in the city/area. That said, it gets the job done. They do add mustard so if you don't like anything between your Smoked Meat and Rye like I do...Our Server was service minded and took care of us. Open 24 hours and if you don't feel like going downtown after hours or on a very snowy evening for a Smoked Meat sandwich, Chenoy's is the place.

So this place is a definite staple and has been around since forever ..even before I was born LOL Ambiance: really dead and old looking .. the inside never changed but it's got the old fashion feel I dig!! I can't really give it a five stars but it used to be my go to for smoke meat in the west unfortunately it went downhill for service but their food is still amazing. After midnight and a fun New Year's eve party I definitely felt like junk food and this place was open so I was pretty happy about that Service: Guy was Yelling out to his coworkers and he sounded stressed and there was just not paying attention to me inside .. they were in their little bubble agitated and didn't feel like they wanted me there Food: I decided to get myself a smoked meat sandwich 4.5/5 .. I wanted medium Fat !!!! But they screwed up and gave me lean meeeeehhh but it was still good and with rice as I don't really like fries or I'm just really picky when it comes to fries ... the rice tasted weird it had a burnt taste to it :/ overcooked unfortunately and decided to pass fortunately, I also got myself an order of latkas. 5/5!!! Deeeeelicioussss they were super tender fresh and bursting with flavour at 1 in the morning lol I was totally wasted and gave me the fix for the night My husband ordered a club roll I gave it a try mmmm it was delicious We also got some spaghetti with meat sauce ughhh yuck it was hOrribly bland and lacked flavour Overall, It's that kind of place you come when your body needs some calories and you're starving and nothing else seems to be open! I recommend it if you're desperate and want a late night bite !

Chenoy's is another of Montreal's possible lesser known smoked meat institutions on the National scale. They used to have the Chomedy Laval location and now their only remaining restaurant is the W island. They have been serving smoked meat for while which is always a sign of quality and customer dedication! Portions served here are huge. Prices are moderate but unless you are a hungry hippo you could be going home with half a sandwich. Which is exactly what I did after lunch! The cheesecake I could only admire and drool through the display window in my recent visit. It looked like a masterpiece in culinary delight. On a next visit it would definitely be a great dessert option. If you are in the neighbourhood for MTL deli options this is a great choice. Enjoy!

Huge portions of delicious food! I had the trio, which comes with a smoked meat sandwich, ribs, chicken wings, coleslaw, and fries. It's around 25$ for an enormous platter. The personal pizzas are around 20$ and enormous as well. My father had the smoked meat pizza and it looked absolutely delicious. The smoked meat is tender and flavourful. Service is quick and friendly. The restaurant has a fun mid-20th century diner vibe to it. I'll definitely be back.

I came by for lunch 10 years ago. I remember it was very busy and we had to wait for a table. We came by here for lunch today and it wasn't that busy. The restaurant still looks the same. Food was plentiful. Price was reasonable. Especially if you order their lunch special. The special includes soup of the day. Today was spinach rice soup. That was pretty good and not over salted! Bbq burger did not come with veggies. We had to ask them for lettuce and tomatoes. My meal also came with chocolate ice cream which was excellent. Cheesecake was funky tasting. I don't know if this is how Canada makes cheesecakes but it was grainy and yellow. That's a big meh for me.

Three of us got the grilled cheese sandwich. What a mistake... the oil they used to fry the sandwich tasted "off" and the cheese they used were Kraft singles, not real cheese! It was one slice per sandwich too which wasn't much cheese. The bacon also tasted like ready crisp bacon. All three of us did not enjoy it. The Chenoy Poutine was pretty good, decent size too. Could use more gravy though. Apple pie also had a strange texture. These guys look like they specialize in smoked meat so I recommend sticking to that. On the pro side, all the employees were really nice, and there is no cold draft coming from the windows since they have heaters at each one.

One of the few places that's open 24h, so Chenoy's was a savior at 1am! This place is a simple diner that offers decent food. I got the smoked meat sandwich and my friend got an omelet. Both tasted good and our waitress was very friendly!

On the deli counter side if the Resturant. Note the Chenoys Tiffany light shades

Wow, Great smoked meat!!! Gigantic Matzo ball soup, Fresh salad instead of fries and good friendly service. All at a decent price. Too much food to finish in one sitting.

The calamari was nicely fried, light, and was a nice portion size. Both pasta dishes were delicious, but I would highly recommend the carbonara. It was perfectly seasoned and just checked all the boxes. The service was friendly and attentive. They kept checking with the tables to see if anyone needed anything and brought us extra plates for our app. The cannolis were also filled to the brim! The restaurant has plenty of seating with seats at the bar and lots of tables. Definitely recommend this spot for a good pasta!

We noticed that pick up is so much better because the Uber drivers were not careful with our orders in the past and even accidentally flipped our pizza. The food is delicious We tried a few things on Maurizio's new menu that we strongly recommend. All pizzas Side note: The atmosphere and staff has changed during the last few months and my review was started way before the big C. They can be a tad nutty at times depending on who is serving you. They also chase you on the terrace to wear a mask when you are outside and was even screamed at by the new waiter who is very nasty! I hope this place gets back to normal soon, or else it would be a shame for everyone who enjoyed coming here.

Once done, head over to Studio 77 and sit on their terrace with a nice combo of coffee and pastry. They even offer salad and an assortment of sandwiches. The cafe is a bit small and is always packed with customers but with patience, you can find a nice table, either indoor or outdoor. You can even order some alcoholic drinks if you're in the mood, from wine to spirits. The decor is also quite modern and rustic, adds a nice touch to the overall atmosphere. Bought 2, one Apple Crumble Caramel Cheesecake which I preferred than the other. I wish it had more of the crumble though, at least it would have felt like I was eating something, this was just like a mouth full of nothing icing, sadly. Even the graham crust at the bottom wasn't a crust, it was loose powder which felt really weird to eat with all this soft texture. I normally really like soft cheesecake but this was just all over the place. The apple pieces inside was not enough to balance, very stingy. This isn't good by itself, if I were stuck with it again, I'd have it with fruit or ontop of a real cake or something lol The other was their fudge raspberry cheesecake, which was the preferred one by the rest of my family, but again, none of them were happy and told me to give up on this restaurant, sad as we use to be excited for this place years ago. Anyways! I didn't like this one because the fudge just stuck to my teeth and I had to fight it off my fork lol, was like a very sticky pudding. My dad said that it feels like they've done a lot of cost reduction and that I should just do homemade instead @,@ I found it incredibly overpriced. I paid around 75$ for both together. Not worth it, I don't recommend. I don't even think they care at this point because the market is good for giving people cheap tricks.
