We visited the Chelan area while we were camping through the area. They area apart of Harvest Hosts which allows campers to pick a spot among the vineyards to camp for the evening. A great idea! We loved walking around the vineyards, trying the wines, and enjoying the fantastic view of the lake. Highly recommend! The only reason for the 4 stars? Wines are a bit pricier than surrounding places. Some local wineries offer a free tasting if you purchase a bottle of wine. That helps when you are a first time visiter. Four couples enjoying a hot, August summer afternoon in Chelan before going out on the lake to cool off. Bill (the owner) was delightful. He sat with our group of guys and chatted for 20 minutes while we waited for the wives. The wines were all very good and you immediately surmise that Bill is passionate about his wine. He's a pleasant guy to chat with. I enjoyed the 2014 Rogue Clair (Pinot) and the 2021 Bianco Perla Sauvignon was a hit with our group - perfect for a hot day. Service was ok. The guy who was our server was very slow and we had to keep asking the other gals working to get us our next pour (we all did the tasting). It was not busy at all. We had a sampling of several wines and selected the 2020 Syrah. It was bold and tasty and went well with our fire roasted pizza. We were greeted with open arms upon arrival (literally, the owner gave the birthday girl a hug!). We didn't have a reservation for the wine tasting but the owner and staff jumped right in and got our group of 7 setup with a table outside overlooking the beautiful winery and lake. It was a little chilly that day so bill set up outdoor heaters on both sides of our table, and gave us blankets to stay warm. We were looking for a dog friendly winery near Chelan after one of our favorite wineries decided to no longer allow dogs. We also wanted something to eat. Chelan ridge Winery checked all those, so off we went. When we got there we got a slight disappointment in that the pizza oven was not in operation on a Wednesday. However, our server suggested that we try the charcuterie board or the salad. We tried both, and they were both delicious. What really impressed us was the wines, and the details that were added to it. We learned a lot about the winery and the wines all while enjoying sweeping views of Lake Chelan. When the resident dogs arrived our dogs found new best friends. I think that really was the icing on the cake. So much so that we returned the next day to try the pizzas. So glad to see that the notice on Yelp of Chelan Ridge being permanently closed has been resolved. The new owners have done a great job with new wine, new food, new staff, and events. I'd consider Chelan Ridge a boutique winery, producing mostly estate wines, and other great blends from the AVA. Their winemaker is a well established local expert who has developed many great tasting wines, and the Malbec is incredible. It's an intimate setting with indoor and outdoor seating, plenty of shade outside in the afternoons, and very nice views of the lake. There always seems to be ample parking, even with live music and events. Give it a try, I think you'll like it. read more

The new owners just reopened at beginning of September 2022 & just go above & beyond to make u feel welcome. With over 30 wineries to choose from in Chelan AVA, I see no reason to return to Chelan Ridge Winery. Way over priced (see menu). $20 for unremarkable Margarita pizza that serves 1. Our new favorite winery when visiting Chelan. We've gone to a lot and this is probably the most family and pet friendly one. They have several good quality lawn games and even a dedicated section for kids w good condition games and coloring books. They even offered free juice to our kids.We were pleasantly surprised! Definitely a raised the bar for wineries. The owners and servers were one of the friendliest and warmest people we've met. The view was amazing and there was great music for a Saturday night. Have been here a couple of times and always super impressed. These folks have FAR AND AWAY the best wines I've ever had. Could not for the life of me find one I didn't like. From the white Merlot, (beautifully balanced) to a never ending litany of reds, one amazing red after another. Was my second time here, swore I wouldn't join another wine club, couldn't help myself, had to. May lead to a divorce but red wine vs. red head, tough call but gotta do what ya gotta do. Puppy friendly, my Morkie had a ball playing with the resident pups, had to literally catch her by the tail to leave. We were so disappointed. We reserved outdoor seating and arrived to be seated on lawn chairs. No table seating available even with reservations. Table seating outside is very limited. There was no sense of organization in being seated, order taken, etc. Food was ok at best. Honestly had better wood fired pizza at MOD. The only saving grace for this place is the view and the owner. He was very welcoming and genuinely wanted us to have a good time. Unfortunately, we can't recommend this place due to the disorganization and over priced food and wine. read more

This was the last winery on our wine tour, and our first time here. We all really liked Chelan Ridge Winery! I was quite schnokkered by the time we got to CRW; as it was our 5th stop. So I don't remember how the wine tasted, but the views, atmosphere and people were all fabulous!! We took beautiful pictures out on the deck, and had a wonderful time! We are in the area looking for wines from the Lake Chelan AVA. Looking at the website, this looked like a good spot. We did make a purchase and the wines were interesting. We did have a couple of issues. First, our server was new to the place and not knowledgeable about the wines. It feels like she was not trained. She was pleasant and apologized for being unable to answer our questions. Second, the wines we tasted were not made by the current owner or wine maker. I expect the new owner will have a different style. Clearly he is intent in making this place into a destination with much greater volume. Nothing wrong with that as long as the wines are good. I'm almost afraid to write a review because it was so nice to come to this winery and not have to swim through a swarm of people to get a tasting. I only tried a few wines as our primary interest at this point in our day was the relax and drink a full bottle, so I just picked the Syrah Rose based on the tasting notes and was shocked that it was so delicious! Everyone in our group loved it and the White Merlot, and my friend who tried the reds and is typically picky on reds liked each one of them. I can understand why people would be frustrated that some pours were delayed in their tasting. That being said, if you're going wine tasting with the goal of fitting in 8 wineries in one afternoon I think you're doing it wrong. My friend was happy sipping slowly and chatting with the owners when they came by. I didn't see them neglect any people, even those who were doing their tasting outside. Seating is a bit limited but the view is stellar so if you come and it's crowded, maybe try back alter if you'd prefer to sit leisurely with a large-ish group outside. We happened to get there at about 4:45 on a Saturday and were able to secure a great table. We visited 5 wineries that day and this was definitely the crowd favorite for wine and setting. read more
